Big Idea

The argument in one line.

A brand-new offer selling to fully cold traffic can reach $67,000 in a month because webinars compress trust-building into one session and fast feedback loops fix the funnel.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • You run or plan to run an info or coaching offer and are deciding between a webinar, a VSL funnel and a lead magnet funnel for cold traffic.
  • You grew an offer organically on personal brand and now need to move to paid ads where the offer itself has to carry the sale.
  • You are about to run your first webinar and want to know which numbers to track and which mistakes to avoid.
SKIP IF…
  • You want a full webinar script or slide breakdown, since this video covers strategy and results rather than presentation content.
  • You need exact ad spend and funnel numbers, because the speaker says he cannot remember most of them precisely.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

Tom Bradley took a high-ticket sales mentorship with no audience to over $67,000 in its first month using four webinars to fully cold traffic. Webinars won over VSL funnels because they build trust in hours and give feedback fast. A mass-market guarantee offer produced cheap leads, and the first webinar returned about $15,000 on roughly 500 to 1,000 pounds of ad spend. A detailed tracker exposed show rate as the bottleneck, so cutting the promotion window from seven days to three or four lifted it 10%. Audience data analyzed with AI sharpened copy, but missing financial modeling and untested tech cost an estimated 15 to 30 thousand dollars.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • A webinar compresses trust-building for a cold prospect into a single session, which is why it can convert strangers faster than a VSL funnel.
  • Organic creators can sell a weak offer because the audience buys the person, but cold paid traffic needs an offer that stands on its own.
  • A big-promise guarantee offer pulls low-intent leads, but at high volume enough qualified buyers still come through.
  • A brand-new ad pixel has no bad learnings, so a mass-market offer will not poison it the way it might an established account.
  • Roughly 500 to 1,000 pounds of ad spend returning 15,000 dollars on a first webinar is a minimum 15x return.
  • A strong first webinar is the moment to double down and inspect every funnel number, not to ease off.
  • A tracker showing every funnel number lets you spot problems such as a weak email open rate and fix the subject line immediately.
  • A seven-day promotion window on cold traffic hurt show rate; shortening it to three or four days raised show rate 10% without losing leads.
  • Sales call transcripts, webinar chat, Q and A and survey answers can be analyzed with AI to rewrite messaging and webinar slides.
  • Without financial modeling, 32 booked calls landed on one Monday and the offer owner took about 30 calls in a single day.
  • Financial modeling also gives you target KPIs, so you know which metric lags the plan and what to fix.
  • Webinars depend on one 90-minute to 2-hour window, so every piece of tech must be tested before the day.
  • The speaker estimates tech failures on the last webinar cost a month that could have hit 85 to 100 thousand dollars.
Takeaway

What a cold-traffic webinar launch teaches

WHAT TO LEARN

A new offer with no audience can reach $67,000 in a month when the funnel compresses trust into one session and every number is tracked and fixed.

  • Pick the funnel by the audience's trust level: a fully cold audience with a new name needs trust fast, which a live webinar delivers in hours.
  • Cold paid traffic cannot lean on personal brand, so the offer itself must be strong enough to sell to strangers.
  • Early volume matters more than lead quality on a fresh pixel, because feedback arrives faster and the account has no bad learnings.
  • After a strong first result, keep inspecting every funnel number instead of coasting, since the first win hides the next bottleneck.
  • Show rate can be the main leak: shortening the cold-traffic promotion window from seven days to three or four lifted it 10% without losing leads.
  • Feed sales call transcripts, chat, Q and A and survey answers into AI to find the language and objections that should change your copy and slides.
  • Model the funnel financially before launch so you can staff sales calls and know which KPI is lagging the plan.
  • Test every tool, tracking link and automation before webinar day, because one failure in a single-session funnel can cost tens of thousands.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Show rate
The percentage of people who registered for a webinar and actually attend it live.
ROAS
Return on ad spend: revenue generated for each unit of money spent on ads. A 15x ROAS means 15 back for every 1 spent.
VSL funnel
A funnel built around a video sales letter, a recorded sales video that leads the prospect to buy or book a call.
Cold traffic
People who have never heard of you or your brand before seeing your ad.
Pixel
Tracking code that feeds ad platforms conversion data so they can learn which people to target.
Financial modeling
Planning expected funnel numbers such as opt-in rate, show rate and booked calls ahead of time so you can staff and measure against them.

Okay, so in this video I'm going to explain how I took my client from a brand new offer, having never sold anything before, never even existed online really, to selling over $67 ,000 worth of information and coaching within the very first month. But before we get into it, if you want to launch or scale your own info offer, particularly with webinars, because I love webinars, then there'll be a link in the description where you can watch a quick video and book a call with me.
We'll see if it's even a good option for you and then we can talk about what it looks like. actually working together. Right, I know I just said I love webinars, but there is an actual deeper reason to why we chose them to scale this particular client.
Rather than choosing something like a VSL funnel, low ticket to high ticket funnel, lead magnet funnel, whatever it may be, we chose webinars for a reason. And the main reason is because like I said, this offer and this client is brand new to the space. For context, he was selling a high ticket sales mentorship.
Now I know there's hundreds of these, but we'll get into how we counter positioned him against the market to not just like another sales guru but before that we need to understand why we actually chose the webinar in the first place so as i've said it was a completely new name hardly had any followers on instagram i guarantee that not a single one of those followers was interested in sales because it was more of a personal account even and on top of that we were selling to 100 cold traffic so we needed to build trust as quickly as possible and a webinar in my opinion is by far the best way to do that because it was a new offer and we were starting from scratch we needed to compress everything into a small time space as possible so we could get results and feedback to improve as quickly as possible as well.
We would not have been able to achieve results like this if we were running something like a VSL funnel, which takes a lot longer to actually see results and get perfect to the point where you can convert a completely cold prospect into a paying customer in just a matter of a few hours. So now we understand why we've actually chosen the webinar.
I want to get into the offer and how we position the offer to the market. And I think this is what a lot of people struggle with, especially when converting from organic to paid. It's very important that you've got a cold traffic friendly offer.
Whereas a lot of these organic guys are heavily relying on their personal brand. So the offer doesn't really need to be that strong because they're not buying the thing. They're buying what you as an individual are selling them because they already know, like, and trust you.
They also trust that whatever you're going to be selling is going to be of value to them because they trust you. Now, looking back at the offer we ran when we're launching this, I wouldn't run this now, but given the fact that it was completely brand new everything, we needed to get as many leads in as possible so we could get that feedback.
and improve as quickly as possible on everything. I can't remember the exact wording off the top of my head, but I think it was something like, we will guarantee you a remote sales role paying up to 5K a month within the first 90 days. We'll give you all of your money back and three grand cash just for wasting your time.
Now, if you know anything about anything when it comes to running ads, marketing, all of that stuff, you know that those words and that messaging is just going to attract low quality, low intent, tire kickers who literally don't have a penny rub together because they just want the quickest and easiest most guaranteed opportunity that they can have in order to make money and they know deep down that they're not going to put in the work so they want the guarantee of success however when you sort of do a mass market like this We also need to understand that because we're bringing in such a large volume, we are going to get those qualified people in there, especially a brand new pixel.
Now, it doesn't have any good learnings, but it also doesn't have any bad learnings. So we're not going to keep bringing in shit. Obviously, take this all with a pinch of salt.
I know it's not best practices at all. But in this particular instance, it was a good play. And we know this was a good play because on the first webinar.
Now, I can't exactly remember all of the numbers, but I think we spent only around 500 to 1000 pounds. on ads for this first webinar but we made 15 grand back now that's a minimum of a 15x ROAS which is pretty insane if you ask anyone and we wouldn't have been able to do this without the sheer volume of leads coming in because we had such a low cost per lead because of our sort of poverty messaging now especially with a brand new offer a brand new funnel brand new everything when the first webinar was such a success it's very easy to see that as the norm and take your foot off the gas a little bit but that is not what we did at all We doubled down on exactly what was working and we looked at every single number throughout the entire funnel to pinpoint exactly what was going wrong so we could improve for the next webinar.
And this is why it's so important to have all of your tracking and your numbers laid out as clearly as possible. It needs to be absolutely dialed so you can see everything and know exactly what's going wrong. And that's exactly what we did.
We had a big fuck off. sexy tracker where we could see every single number and we were like right that's wrong that's wrong the open rate on this email is slightly lower than it should be so let's alter the subject line try get more people engaged on the pre -webinar email so we could see immediately like that exactly what was going wrong and how we could fix it and i know you're curious the main bottleneck that we had on this first webinar was show rate so we knew we needed to improve this for the next webinar and we quickly identified the reason and the promotion window was far too long.
We started at seven days on cold traffic as well, which isn't ideal. But again, because everything was brand new, we needed to have that time for plan Bs and contingencies in case something did go wrong. We had enough time to fix it so we knew that the actual day of the webinar would still be safe and we could still perform.
So for the next webinar, because we had all of these learnings, the ads have got learnings, we've learned things, we shortened that down to just three or four days and this increased the show rate 10 % without losing any number of leads. We actually spent more on this webinar.
So we got more leads, same cost per lead as before, because we still had the poverty messaging, but we got more leads and a higher show rate, which obviously means you've got a lot more people to actually pitch to on the webinar, more book calls, more showing calls, more money. Another thing we did off the back of this first webinar was analyze as much as we could about our actual audience and our market.
So we took all of the sales call transcripts, which were a lot of which i'll get on to we took all of the webinar chat the q a all of the messages all of the type form responses literally every single thing that we could get on our audience and we completely analyzed it we used ai for that if you're still not using ai to do research and analysis like this then you are just completely wasting time and missing out on a lot of money but that's a side thing we analyzed all of this so we could change the messaging the copywriting we could change specific things in the actual webinar presentation so it resonated more with the actual people watching it and again we weren't just doing this for fun and to say we could do it we saw an actual jump in the numbers the webinar presentation retention the amount of people opening and consuming the emails we even had specific people in the type forms saying that they resonated with a certain email before the webinar because we were able to change them and adapt them to the person actually reading them which is just extremely important and no one talks about this next thing i
want to talk about because I don't just want to make this a whole video of positivity is the main thing that we actually did wrong and that is not financially modeling and planning for the webinar so after the initial webinar we had I think a total of 45 book calls overall and I think 32 calls on the Monday after the Sunday webinar and at this point because we didn't plan for this the offer owner was still taking all of the calls.
So this one guy had about 30 calls in one day, which is completely unsustainable going forward. And this only happened because we didn't financially model and actually plan for this, which is a complete downfall from all of us. But we did know that this was obviously going to happen in the next webinar as well.
So we hired a good sales team. I won't cover sales team stuff in this video because it's a completely separate topic. Also very important.
This shows the importance of actually planning and modeling your webinar so you know exactly what should happen and hope what's going to happen and then also after the webinar you know oh the opt -in rate or the retention rate that was off what we planned so how do we get it up to the planned level and even beyond that so we can make even more money going forward so financially modeling isn't only useful so you don't run into issues like your sales team not being big enough to handle all the volume but you can also map out all of the kpis so you know what's actually lagging and then again in turn you know what to fix and then let's get on to the sort of tail end end of the month now we were consistently doing really really good numbers from the first three webinars of the month and then the last webinar we actually had some tech issues including the offer owners wi -fi going out for like an entire two weeks and stuff like this is unforeseen but other tech issues that's another thing with webinars especially because everything is so reliant on that one day that one hour and a half two hours that you really need to test every single techie thing because if you lose out on like
50 grand from a webinar because you didn't test or you didn't understand how Webinar Jam or Zoom webinars works, then that's completely on you. You need to set everything up and make sure all of your tracking, all of your systems, all of your automations are completely working in all eventualities and possibilities, or you are going to panic on the day of and miss out on a lot of money.
And that's what happened to us. I think we could have probably hit anywhere from 85 to 100K in this first month if we didn't have those tech issues on the last webinar. But that was an extremely valuable lesson.
and learn because we know in future now to test everything and plan for this so that basically covers everything on how we took this climb from zero to 67k in the first month if you're still considering webinars in some way or another even though you see you know probably hundreds of your compares doing the exact same thing then i don't know what else is going to convince you we would not have been able to make this amount of money in a single month if it weren't for webinars especially with a brand new offer like i said at the start of this video there's a link in the description where you can book in a call with me i'll show you exactly how the system works and exactly how we would work together to grow your business with webinars and of course if you still have any questions about this please leave them in the comments or dm me on instagram as well but other than that i appreciate you watching i hope you found some value from this video and i will see you in the next one
