Big Idea
The argument in one line.
One dedicated sales page that stacks specific facts, overwhelming social proof, and a bulk-buy order section turns strangers into buyers, and AI can now rebuild that structure for any product in minutes.
Who This Is For
Read if. Skip if.
READ IF YOU ARE…
An ecommerce or Shopify owner who sends paid traffic to a homepage or product page and wants a higher conversion rate and a bigger average order value.
A founder selling a physical product or a service who wants a concrete template for what goes on a sales page and in what order.
Someone who wants to use Claude or another AI tool to generate a full sales page from an existing proven example instead of starting from a blank screen.
SKIP IF…
You already run heavily tested pages with 3-bag and 6-bag style bundles and need advanced CRO testing methodology.
You sell something with no checkout or order page, where bulk-quantity bundling and scarcity timers don't apply.
TL;DR
The full version, fast.
Matt Clark argues everything in a business is downstream of one good sales page, because converting strangers into buyers solves the other problems. He walks through the long page that drove his coffee brand's first $100 million: a headline with the biggest benefit, a discount and scarcity, hyper-specific bullets, heavy social proof, and an order section that removes the single-unit option. He then shows the newer seven-reasons listicle page that finally beat it, and has Claude clone that page for a wakesurf board. The two goals of any page are getting people to buy now and buy a lot up front.

A business with one dedicated sales page has a simple marketing job: all traffic goes to one place and you only optimize one page.
The homepage can look terrible and not matter when every sale is funneled through a single landing page.
The more facts you tell, the more you sell: specific claims like pH-tested to be up to 27.7% less acidic beat vague words like delicious and high quality.
Social proof is the most important element on a sales page, and you cannot include too much of it.
Removing the single-unit option and forcing a choice between 3 and 6 bags produced the best results, because buying more up front lets you scale ad spend.
Adding a 9-bag option that only about 2% of buyers choose increased the number choosing the 6-bag option by roughly 30%.
A sales page has two jobs: get customers to buy now and get customers to buy a lot up front.
A listicle page of seven reasons is easy to scroll on a phone and still hits every key point of a much longer page.
FAQ sections on sales pages are not extra information, they are objection handlers and should be written as sales copy.
Long copy is fine as long as every section adds to the reader's understanding, especially when repeated call-to-action buttons break up the page.
It took about six years and 100-plus tested pages to find a page that beat the original, which is why modeling a proven page beats starting fresh.
Pre-built bundles like a session pack and a full-send pack raise average order value without any new product.
Takeaway
Build one page that sells hard and sells big
WHAT TO LEARN
A single page that leads with the biggest benefit, proves it with specific facts and heavy social proof, and pushes bigger first orders will outsell a polished homepage.
Send paid traffic to one dedicated page so you only have one asset to test and improve, and let the homepage stay imperfect.
Put the strongest benefit, a discount, and scarcity in the headline, because testing different angles showed low acid beat toxic-coffee and environmental appeals.
Replace vague claims with exact facts, numbers, and sourced quotes so the copy is believable, whether a person or AI writes it.
Stack social proof in layers: customer quotes, customer photos, experts, reviews, press, and influencers. You cannot have too much.
Remove the single-unit option and offer larger bundles, plus a rarely chosen top tier that pushes more buyers to the middle tier.
Use a listicle of seven reasons for a lighter, mobile-friendly page, and write the FAQ as objection handling rather than random information.
Give AI a proven page as a model and your product as the target, and expect a usable draft with bundles and an FAQ in minutes.
Glossary
Terms worth knowing.

Average order value (AOV)
The average amount a customer spends per order. Bundles and multi-unit options raise it.
Above the fold
The part of a page visible without scrolling. Here it holds the review count, customer count, guarantee, and discount.

If there's one thing I've learned over the past 17 years of building businesses with about a half a billion dollars in sales, is everything is downstream of one good sales page. Because if you can convert strangers into buyers, that solves all your other problems. But if you can't convert strangers into buyers, nothing else really matters.
So this one page drove $100 million in sales for us. and we built this thing the hard way now you can build pages like this with ai in minutes and i'm going to show you exactly how so first thing is is why a landing page at all like why not just send people to your website well when i was you know around 25 years old i had this weird idea of being able to jump super high so i started looking for all these weird gizmos to increase vertical jump and that sort of thing and i ended up coming across online a page This page talked about this kid.
who I think was like 5 '9", and could throw down these crazy dunks. And he was talking about how he increased his vertical jump. He talked about his journey, his story, how he did this, and the program that he ended up developing.
And I couldn't get enough of this. I just kept scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. And eventually I got down to the bottom of the page, 100 % convinced to do whatever it is that he was gonna offer.
And he sold this vertical jump program, a series of videos and a PDF, for around $50. And I bought that thing on the spot. that's the power of a landing page or a sales page is you funnel people down a dedicated path that turns them from maybe you just grab their attention or maybe they're mildly interested into somebody that actually buys on the spot in a landing page or a sales page is your most effective way to do that and So your home page doesn't really matter.
So I'm going to show you something This is the page that we drove our first hundred million dollars in sales with this is what our home page looked like this is i took this screenshot from wayback machine and so this screenshot is from january of 2020. we had been building this business from 17 000 a month to 600 000 a month in that first year and this was still our home page A year later, while we were doing $600 ,000 a month and funneling all of our sales through this one page, we didn't care about our homepage.
This thing looks terrible. It's got these old bags on here. I don't even know what this logo is here for.
It's like a bag sort of label for some reason we have there. Half of our image is not working. And so it did not matter.
We funneled all of the sales through this one place, which makes your job of marketing incredibly simple. All you have to do is optimize one page. So your whole goal with this page is to turn strangers into buyers.
People that have never heard of your brand before, as many of them as possible, into people that pull out their credit cards and give you money. And so the way we developed this page is when I partnered up with Charles, who already had this business sort of sitting on the side, it was tiny, only doing $17 ,000 a month. I partnered up with them and said, hey, I think I can help you grow this business.
If I can, I want a lot of equity. If I can't, it's your business, I don't care. And so he had this page sitting there.
didn't quite look like this but it had a lot of the content about the coffee and that sort of thing i partnered up with him i started modifying especially the headline the bullets the lead section and some other parts that we're going to go through and we started testing that with paid ads and then we tweaked this page in the offer like i'll go through in a second enough to the point where this was able to turn strangers into buyers we had about a six percent conversion rate and over a seventy dollar average order value that meant on average people are ordering more than three bags of coffee whereas most people out there in this industry are stuck selling 14 .99 bags of coffee i'm going to show you how to sell a premium product in mass to a lot of people 100 automatically with this sort of page so let's first walk through a few of the key sections and then i'm going to show you a newer version of this page that's working way better and it's actually way simpler to create and you can do it 100 with ai i'm even going to show you an example of how to do that on my phone but first i think it's important for you to understand some of the key elements and key psychology of how these pages work before we start digging in to a simpler faster easier version because now you're going to be set up to do this a lot better so first off we've got our headline on here so our headline
typically going to feature the biggest benefit so in this case if I can pull out my fancy drawing tool and so low acid so we did a lot of testing on these different angles like such as your coffee is toxic our co -founder is a doctor we help the environment we help the farmers we tested all these different sort of appeals and the low acid angle is what pulled the most for us so in our headline we feature low acid we also feature a giant discount and so those are things that helped us convert strangers into buyers immediately because it also drives a lot of scarcity so secure your supply so we have the big benefit we've got a discount and we've got scarcity all within the headline so then the next section is our bullet points so The most important thing about these bullet points is we're extremely specific.
Non -GMO, single origin, USDA certified organic, pH test proven to be up to 27 .7 % less acidic, shade grown in the mountains of Central America. We could have said instead a bunch of generalities. Hey, our coffee tastes great, it's delicious, it's high quality, it's lower acidity, it's grown in a beautiful area of the world.
But the more specific you can be, the more believable your information is gonna be. So whether you write the copy or AI writes your copy, be as specific as possible.
And the other mantra I like to share is the more facts you tell, the more you sell. so gather all of this information or have ai do it all the facts and features about your product how it's made where it's made why it's made that way the materials the ingredients everything else and this really doesn't matter whether you're selling physical products or services you want to be as specific as possible then we start hitting them with social proof we're going to talk a lot about proof today so this is our first testimonial from a real customer and so you're going to notice that's The most prominent feature of this page is overwhelming social proof.
Now, some people at this point, they're just ready to buy. They don't care. They'll buy anything.
So you give them a button here, and this jumps them down further on the page, which I'll show you in a second. But for people that still need more convincing, we start hitting them with more social proof. So these are real customers holding our bags.
So we just constantly are trying to source these from customers. So this is another layer of social proof. A lot of people happy holding our bags.
My co -founder is a doctor. So we feature him on here This is kind of written as like a story from him and this is the same thing. So this is also fact -based coffee and so It says, this is from John Hopkins Medicine.
It's safe for most people to drink three to five cups of coffee per day with a maximum intake of 400 milligrams of caffeine. So these are not generalities that people think we're just making up. We're quoting substantial sources and we're also being extremely specific.
And so that's how that copy flows. More social proof. Once again, probably the most important element on this page.
This guy is an owner of a fitness related business. This is a best -selling an author. This is a doctor.
We also have a dentist on here So as much social proof as we can possibly put on the page we put it on there And so this is kind of more story based copy and then here's where we get into all the facts and features about the product So you'll notice two extremely big elements lots of proof lots of facts and features One pure ingredient single -origin tested for mycotoxins shade grown stomach friendly pure clean ingredients high elevation grown sun dried fairly traded this is the benefit of this style of page is you have an infinite amount of room to include copy you just don't want to be redundant or boring as long as it's adding something to people's understanding of the product and further convincing them that they should buy this and there's nothing else like this out there in the world then include it it's not going to hurt you by including more copy especially if you're including multiple call to action buttons like you've seen so then this is a video that we
did in a farmer's market so more social proof these are reviews from our actual store just kind of dynamically pulled more social proof and then we have more call to action buttons once again if your copy is really long you want to break up the page with these then we have our order section so here we're driving scarcity very heavily so we have in stock 58 off current status your order ships today these are all elements to let people know that they need to order right now and then we have our different variations people can select and here is one of the other most important areas of this page so we tested a ton early on do we offer one bag do we offer two bags do we offer one bag three bag and six bag two bags four bags eight bags we've tested all these different things and what we found is that getting rid of the one bag option and forcing people to buy either three or six bags produce the best results for us The whole lesson here is that combination may not be the best for your business, whatever you're selling.
The whole idea here is you got to get customers to buy more up front. There are two primary goals with a sales page. Get customers to buy now and get customers to buy a lot up front.
If you can accomplish those two things, you're going to have a better performing page than anyone else, and you're going to be able to scale traffic faster than everyone else. And so by us including three -bag and six -bag options, that gets us a lot more money up front, which allows us to scale our ads. And this is the whole reason we were able to build this business.
We never got outside funding. We didn't use debt. We didn't use venture capital.
We didn't even put our own money into this thing, other than maybe a little bit Charles did way back in the day. But our whole path of scaling from $17 ,000 a month to $60 million a year today was built because we got customers to buy more up front.
Just by offering them a good deal for buying more bags. Most people are too scared to do this. They're like, oh, nobody's ever going to want to buy two bags or two units of my product.
They will. We are now using a page that actually has three, six, and nine bags. And that nine bags, what it did is only like 2 % of people are taking that option.
But what it did is it increased the number of people taking the six bag option by like 30%. So all of a sudden, a lot more people are buying six -packs, which may sound crazy, but we offer a guarantee. If they don't like our coffee, return it.
We'll give you your money back, no problem. Then we have some different more social proof. Once again, the biggest element, you cannot have too much social proof on your page.
A few trust symbols, and then that's basically it. Some more story stuff, and then another whole social proof section. And so this are review websites that have talked about us, some news publications.
These are influencers that have talked about us. This is an old page. You're gonna see a familiar face.
You see this guy. I was one of our original influencers We have just unlimited social proof on this page. You cannot include too much of that and then there's a CTA button So this is the page that basically built our company this produced essentially the first hundred million dollars in total revenue For the company, but now there's a way to create a much simpler page That hits all of the main things from here and you can do it with AI all right so now i'm going to show you the page that we're actually sending the most traffic to right now because this freaking page which does not look fantastic especially on mobile it's not the best but for years we couldn't beat this thing we tried we wanted something that looked better that looked fancier that had better copy all that kind of stuff but we could not beat this dang page but finally just recently we've been able to beat it and so this is the page that we're now sending most of our traffic to.
So this page has some similar elements. You'll notice that over here, we start with social proof 4 .8 stars 45 000 plus reviews 790 000 plus customers we've also got more social proof 790 000 plus customers we've got testimonials you see flying over there and then we also start hitting with some guarantees so we've got 30 day money back guarantee save up to 58 off today so we're hitting scarcity and social proof heavily even before you've ever scrolled and we also have fall sales save up to 58 off scarcity and social proof right above the fold However, this page is structured slightly differently in a simpler way than that other page you saw.
So you'll see here it says seven reasons. So this page is what's called a listicle, a list of reasons you should buy the product. Seven reasons why coffee drinkers with sensitive stomachs are switching to Life Boost Coffee.
And then you'll notice that we have seven reasons. And so we're still using good fact -based coffee, less acidic, pH tested, gentler on the gut, lab tested. We're not just saying like...
hey it's better for you we're being as specific as we possibly can about how it's better for you so then we have an accompanying image so each reason is basically a headline a body copy and an image that goes along with it here's our second reason and then our third reason third party tested for pesticides chemicals gmos and mold and then we also have more copy about the sensitive stomachs and as you're scrolling if it ends up becoming kind of too much we've got a button here jumps you down to the order section similar sort of approach Then we also talk about fairly traded.
And this is our last sort of bullet here talking about more social proof. And so that basically does a lot of the copy that we were doing and kind of scrolling forever. But it still hits all those key points just in a bit more of a succinct way.
And then we come down to the order section, which is somewhat similar to what we had before. We've got a couple more variations, but similar kind of idea. And then this one right now, we have three bags and six bags.
We're also testing a nine bag option on a different version of this page. And otherwise it's the same. concept so this listicle style page makes it very easy for people to digest the information about your product and very easy to scroll through on their phone because they're like okay there's going to be seven reasons i kind of scroll through i see the seven reasons then i get to the order section and i'm ready to buy and so once again hitting them very heavily with social proof another order section jumps you back up to the top we talk about some of the key points we're sort of reiterating here more specific criteria just presented in a little bit more lightweight way and then similar kind of concept and then we've got an faq section so faq section very important for these style of pages and the thing to think about faqs is it's not more information for people these are ways to handle objections and so this is still sales copy so the first thing is like why should i pay so much money for this coffee coffee versus some other regular coffee so we handle that up front how much is shipping what's your return policy how long does it stay fresh we're handling objections here we're not just presenting random information and then one last call to action button jumps you up to the top and that's the extent of this page this took a long time let me think it took it took six years
To get here, to finally create this page that's beating our old page. And we tested all kinds of stuff, probably 100 plus pages. And so this is a great page to model.
And I'm going to show you, I'm actually going to give you the URL of this page. And I'm going to show you exactly how to create this kind of page for your own business in just a few minutes with Claude AI. All right, so.
my favorite tool right now and this may be changing very recently depending on when you watch this video is claude to create pages and right now grokbot is absolutely amazing but because i have this ready i'm going to show you how to do this with claude make sure to opt into my email list if you want the latest up -to -date way to do this but right now this is working fantastically so i've got my page pulled up over here the top one is the url of that listicle that i just showed you and it says get .lifebootscoffee .com healthy -coffee and then at the bottom is actually this wake surf board in the back so i spend you know go wake surfing on my boat you know once or twice a week and so i've got that product pulled up as an example so this is how you can create a page like ours in just a few minutes for whatever product you want i just happen to be using that as an example and so i'm going to talk to claude just real quickly and i'm going to use whisperflow which is a cool little app just to make kind of
text to a speech to text a little bit better so the page URL above is a listicle page that I want to model for Shopify so I want to create a version of this page that's as similar as possible follows the same flow hits the same section similar kind of offer and discount but I want to do it for the product below which is a wake surfboard I want you to imagine like that's my product and we're creating a listicle sales page for that do the best job you can filling in images and copy and everything else if there's anything you feel like you cannot absolutely fill in just use placeholder images or text and we can fill those in later go ahead and create this page now and then we let it get to work all right so the page is ready so we had to pull in some placeholders but it's got the same social proof at the top it's got call to action buttons there are a few placeholder videos and images which is totally fine which we can fill in either with actual photos or videos depending on your product or you can just create them with ai
And you'll see that it's got the listicle format. It's done a pretty good job with the copy. So built to last, locked in fuel, riders have been waiting for, spins and airs, which is a big thing for wake surfing.
And you'll see the rest of the listicle. Then it's got our order section. so it's got you know some different kit options just the board session pack full send pack so which is super smart because i don't even think this brand is actually doing this and so they could probably immediately increase sales just by giving these pre -built packages for people and also a set of add -ons and so that can immediately take their average order value up and this is possible for any business out there so that's in super important then it's got a guarantee And then it probably has an FAQ section, some more features and stuff.
Yeah, FAQ section at the bottom. Does it come with fins? How long does shipping take?
Because it's a big product. Perfect. So this all took just a handful of minutes.
And now we have a listicle style page that took us basically six years to figure out. So if you want a full kit of how to build these pages, the actual templates, the prompts and everything that we use, enter your email address below using the link below and I'll give you my sales page toolkit 100 % for free. Also subscribe to my channel because I'm showing you exactly how we scale businesses today using AI and just using good sales psychology that's worked for thousands of years and will keep working for thousands of more years.
