Big Idea

The argument in one line.

One AI prompt turns a competitor's landing page and your own product into a proof-heavy listicle page, then clones it into dozens of buyer-specific versions, in minutes and without a developer.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • You run paid ads for an ecommerce or DTC product and still send every visitor to one generic sales page.
  • You've paid for landing-page builders or agencies and found the output slow, expensive, or generic.
  • You want a repeatable framework, not just a tool, for what a converting sales page actually needs.
  • You're comfortable dictating prompts and iterating with an AI chat tool like Claude on your phone.
SKIP IF…
  • You're building brand or awareness content, not direct-response sales pages, this is a bottom-of-funnel tactic.
  • You have no existing product, proof, or reviews to feed the AI, the framework needs real inputs to work.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

Matt Clark argues that once you're past small scale, the single highest-leverage marketing move is matching your message to the person, something sales teams always did one-on-one but online ads couldn't, until AI made it cheap. He teaches the Conversion Diamond: every sales page needs proof, promise, properties, position, and package, split between emotional levers (proof, promise, package) and logical ones (properties, position). He demonstrates building a 'listicle' style page, the format behind brands like She's Birdie, by feeding Claude an example page URL and his own product URL through voice dictation. The same prompt pattern then clones that one page into 20 persona-specific variants, each pointed at a different buyer type and paired with a matching ad.

Where the time goes.

00:00 – 00:51

01 · The hook: one strategy until $1M/mo

Matt opens on a boat promising the one marketing strategy used by the fastest-growing $100M+ businesses, built on his phone in minutes.

00:51 – 02:34

02 · Message must match the person

A story about convincing his scared mother-in-law to go snow tubing becomes the core principle: a message tailored to one person always beats one generic message sent to thousands, and AI now makes that tailoring possible at scale.

02:34 – 03:03

03 · The listicle: the page to send traffic to

Introduces the 'listicle', a simple numbered list of reasons to buy, as the exact page format big DTC brands like She's Birdie and Groons run their paid traffic to, a format that traces back to early 2000s sites like GQ's 'best of' lists.

03:03 – 05:51

04 · The Conversion Diamond: five elements every page needs

Sketches out proof, promise, properties, position, and package on a whiteboard, with a mastermind-event story about a teeth-whitening brand that made proof 90% of its page, and the Dude Wipes positioning line that built a multi-hundred-million-dollar brand.

05:51 – 06:10

05 · Emotion vs. logic: how the five elements split

Splits the Conversion Diamond in two: proof, promise, and package pull on emotion, while properties and position make the logical case.

06:10 – 07:33

06 · Why he ditched $300/month page builders for Claude

After four landing-page tools produced slow, clunky, ugly pages, he switched to dictating prompts straight into Claude using the voice-to-text app Whisperflow.

07:33 – 09:10

07 · Building the page live: a wake foil example

Feeds Claude an example listicle page URL plus the product URL for a wake foil kit he just bought; four minutes later Claude returns a full listicle landing page with headline, proof points, and an offer section.

09:10 – 11:17

08 · Cloning the page into 20 buyer-specific versions

A second voice prompt asks Claude to generate 20 persona-tailored versions of the same page, swapping the headline and a reason or two for buyers like a new boat owner, someone bored of wakesurfing, or someone with knee issues, and flags that feeding in real customer reviews sharpens the copy further.

11:17 – 11:58

09 · The 20 results, revealed

Reviews the generated batch: a published list of 20 persona-tagged page variants, each with its own headline and URL, and opens one up to show the tailored copy in action.

11:58 – 12:31

10 · Scale to $1M/mo: pair each page with a matching ad

Closes with the scaling move: pair each of the 20 pages with its own matching ad instead of one generic ad, something he says almost no advertiser is doing yet, then pitches the newsletter and next video.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • A sales team could always tailor its pitch to one person; online ads couldn't, until AI made per-visitor personalization nearly free.
  • The Conversion Diamond names five things every sales page needs: proof, promise, properties, position, and package.
  • Proof, promise, and package pull on emotion; properties and position make the logical case, a converting page needs both.
  • Proof is the single highest-leverage element on a page: the more variety of testimonials, media mentions, and reviews, the better it converts.
  • A good product makes proof compound: happy customers generate more reviews, more referrals, and more unpaid social proof over time.
  • Positioning doesn't have to be complex, Dude Wipes built a multi-hundred-million-dollar brand on one line: 'these ones are for guys.'
  • The 'listicle' page, a simple numbered list of reasons to buy, is the format big DTC brands run most of their paid traffic to.
  • Four paid landing-page tools, all around $300/month, produced worse pages than one prompt into Claude.
  • Feeding Claude one example page URL plus your product URL is enough for it to build a full listicle page in minutes.
  • The same page can be cloned into 20 persona-specific variants, new buyer, bored veteran, someone with knee issues, from a single follow-up prompt.
  • Exporting your own (or even a competitor's) customer reviews into the prompt lets the AI copy the exact language real buyers already use.
  • Pairing each persona-specific page with its own matching ad, instead of one generic ad to one generic page, is still done by almost nobody.
Takeaway

Stop sending every buyer to the same page.

AI LANDING PAGES

Cloning one proof-heavy page into dozens of buyer-specific versions, then pairing each with its own matching ad, beats writing a single generic page faster.

02Message must match the person
  • A message built for one specific person converts better than the same generic message sent to thousands, the shift that made door-to-door sales teams effective before mass advertising.
  • AI removes the old constraint on personalized selling: tailoring a message to one buyer used to require a human salesperson, now it's close to instant and free at scale.
03The listicle: the page to send traffic to
  • The listicle, a numbered list of reasons to buy, is the specific page format big DTC brands send most of their paid traffic to, not a generic product page.
  • This list-of-reasons format dates back roughly 20 years to early listicle sites like GQ's 'best jackets' roundups, just pointed at a single product instead of many.
04The Conversion Diamond: five elements every page needs
  • A converting page runs on five elements, proof, promise, properties, position, and package, more than it runs on a pretty design or a clever headline.
  • Proof carries the most weight: a page built almost entirely on testimonials, media mentions, and third-party validation can outconvert one built on clever copy alone.
  • Positioning doesn't need a complex pitch; a one-line answer to 'what makes this different' built a real multi-hundred-million-dollar brand around bathroom wipes made for men.
  • A great product compounds its own proof over time: happy customers generate more reviews and referrals, while an unhappy customer base quietly kills a page's conversion rate.
05Emotion vs. logic: how the five elements split
  • Proof, promise, and package appeal to emotion; properties and position make the logical case, so a page missing either half is only doing half its job.
06Why he ditched $300/month page builders for Claude
  • Four dedicated landing-page tools, at roughly $300 a month each, produced worse results than a single prompt into a general-purpose AI chat tool.
  • Voice dictation into an AI chat app removes the last friction in page-building: no clicking through a builder's interface, no hiring a designer.
07Building the page live: a wake foil example
  • One prompt only needs three inputs: an example page with the structure you like, your product's URL, and a short rundown of its proof, promise, properties, position, and offer.
  • The output from a single prompt is a complete page, headline, proof section, and checkout-ready offer, delivered in a few minutes instead of days.
08Cloning the page into 20 buyer-specific versions
  • The same page clones into dozens of buyer-specific variants from one follow-up prompt, changing only the headline and a reason or two per persona.
  • Feeding in real customer reviews, yours or a competitor's, lets the AI write in the exact language actual buyers already use, sharper than AI copy alone.
  • The real scaling move is pairing each persona-specific ad with its own matching page, instead of funneling every buyer type to one generic page.

story
Until you're doing a million dollars a month, you only need this one marketing strategy. It's used by the best businesses today that are growing the fastest. These are ones doing hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
And this strategy was literally not even possible until about six months ago. But it's so easy now, I'm going to do it on my phone right here from the boat. And I've been building businesses for 17 years and have sold about $500 million online, and I've never seen anything like this.
So I actually first realized the power of how this works a few years ago when I was out snow tubing in Colorado with my family. So I was trying to convince my mother -in -law to get up on the mountain and do some snow tubing. I knew she would love it.
I knew she would have a good time, but she was just scared, didn't want to do it. I was trying to figure out, I've done all this marketing stuff for like 17 years. I was like, what is going to convince this person to actually get up there?
i tried saying you're gonna have fun i tried you know telling her she's a chicken all the different sort of tools i could pull out nothing was working i finally told her look this is your only daughter i was like you've got to go have a good time with her that was enough to make her go out there and finally do it and she had a blast and so the whole lesson here is that you need your message to match the person and so before in marketing if you had a sales team you could go out there and do this one -on -one they could be speaking to the person they know who the prospect is they know things about them but selling stuff online you didn't have that option basically you had to put one message out for thousands or hundreds of thousands of different people but now you can tailor that message at scale nearly instantaneously And this gives you a huge advantage because big companies out there, even ones advertising online, are still doing it the old way where they have some generic ads with a generic page going out there to try to convince thousands and thousands of people to buy from them.
But now with no resources, just literally using your phone like I'm going to show you, you can create custom pages that are tailored to individual buyers. And it takes literally a few minutes as you're about to see. So now that you know the principle, the question is, what kind of page do you actually send people to?
Well, there's one specific page that we've started moving all of our traffic to in my e -commerce business that does about $60 million a year, but it's used by even bigger businesses, including Groons, that just sold for about a billion dollars. So if you look at their pages inside a Facebook ad library or another tool, you can see there's one type of page that they're running all their traffic to, and it's called a listicle.
Now this... type of page which is literally just a list of reasons why you should buy a product was popularized about 20 years ago in the beginning of the internet and now websites such as gq .com such as the seven best jackets and that sort of thing they all use this kind of page so that's the exact kind of page i'm going to show you how to build so within this listicle page that we're going to create what are you actually going to include on there well as i see it there's basically five elements.
So I call this the conversion diamond. And so there's five elements around this thing and it's kind of divided into two pieces. So the only element on here that I haven't mentioned yet, and I'll go through each one of these kind of briefly is proof.
So proof is probably the most important factor when it comes to getting a landing page or any sales page to convert. And the way I kind of figured this out is, you know, I don't know, five, six years ago, I was at this private mastermind event for people that are doing pretty well in e -commerce.
And there was these guys there that were selling this teeth whitening product and they were crushing it. They were doing tens of millions of dollars a year and growing extremely fast. And I was like, what are they doing with their pages?
So I went and looked at their page and it was just literally all proof. It was like celebrity testimonials. It was regular influencer testimonials.
It was regular people testimonials. It was media mentions. That was like 90 % of their page was literally just showing that.
people have used this product and been happy so when it comes to getting conversions this is the most important element exclude as much proof as possible and the highest variety of proof possible which is why a lot of this kind of comes back to actually selling a good product it's like you can get away if you're really good at marketing at selling a crappy product but not for very long One of the reasons is eventually customers get unhappy and they don't tell anybody about it.
But the inverse of that is when customers are happy, you get more testimonials, better testimonials, more referral sales, and more people, especially now if you're running Facebook ads, they'll comment on your posts and will tell people this is a great product. We get that all the time with our business. So that's the most important element.
The second one is your promise, which is basically just a big benefit. You need to answer on your page what's in it for me. And you typically do that in the headline.
Properties is basically all the facts and features about your product. You cannot have too much of this stuff. And the good thing is, is I'm gonna show you how to create this page with AI.
So it'll be very easy to use all that stuff. You just need to dump it as much information about your product as possible so that it can create good fact -based selling copy. And they can do all the heavy lifting if you give it specific properties about your product.
Position is you always have to answer what is unique. about this product because people have seen everything before assume the person you're trying to sell to has heard everything they've seen everything now you have to tell them why this is different than everything else they've ever seen so that's your positioning and that can be something as simple as like what dude wipes did that built a multi -hundred million dollar brand that just said hey all these other bathroom wipes have little babies on them they're yellow and they're pink These ones are for guys.
That was literally their entire positioning, and they built a multi -hundred million dollar brand. So it doesn't have to be that complicated, but you need to tell people there's something unique about your product. Lastly is your packaging.
So this is your offer. This is the combination of your price, your discounts, and whatever else you offer to get people to buy, such as your guarantee. and so you need to make people a good offer but once you include these five elements of the conversion diamond that's how you're going to be able to make money and there this is kind of divided into two components so there's the logic component and then there's the emotion component so your promise your proof and part of your packaging is tapping into people's emotional reasons to buy including facts about your product your positioning and some of your element excluding the logical reasons people are going to buy so now that you kind of understand the principles behind this let's actually build a page so i tried out four different landing page tools like six months ago and i was just getting so frustrated the design was terrible the pages were terrible it was super clunky and painful to build them and i was getting so annoyed these are tools that cost 300 a month so i was like forget it i'm just going to try building this thing with ai i popped in
the prompt something similar to what i'm about to show you into cloud and literally in four minutes later i had an amazing looking page that was so much better than any of those and i didn't have to click any buttons or anything so this is the way to build these kind of pages right now so the first thing i'm going to do is we want an example page and so this is an example of a listicle you could use ones i also have one from grooms here but i'm going to use a she's birdie just because this business does very well hundreds of millions of dollars and it's a nice looking page but follows the same principle it's literally multiple reasons why you should buy a product so i'm going to pop that into claude and then i'm just going to talk to it so i use an app called whisperflow just because it does a better job at voice to text so i want to create a listicle style landing page like this and i want to make sure that this page ends up including proof you know some testimonials i want to make sure it includes a big benefit or promise i want to include specific facts and details about the product i'm about to share with you i want to include some unique positioning and i want to include a good offer similar to the example page i gave you so that's the first part of the prompt now the product i'm actually going to
act like i'm going to sell is this wake foil right here so i just bought this i'm trying to learn how to wake foil because i've been wake surfing for a couple years now but this is new to me but it's super fun and so this is a popular product and so i'm gonna act like this is the product that i wanna sell and so i'm gonna grab that url as well and i'll pop it in here This Wakefoil product is the product I want to sell.
So I want you to model the example She's Birdie page, the layout, the structure, the listicle style, but I want you to apply it all to this product. And then I'm going to paste that in there and then I'm going to let it get to work. So this will take a few minutes and so it's going to do a bunch of stuff and then it'll end up spitting out a page that we can actually run traffic to.
all right so this is the page and so it's basically put in some placeholder stuff so if you have a logo and that kind of thing you want to add you would just add that later but this is awesome so 10 reasons the ronix beginner balance series is the last foil kit you'll buy to learn on so that's the headline they started out which is awesome we've got some call to action buttons you could pop in your own photos or videos of your own product and you can also have claude do this if you just have photos you can just upload it and they'll put those in there for you and then basically has these reasons one box first pull the full flight four mast in one which is true because this thing is adjustable which is why i got this one because i didn't know what i was doing so i started super low and then now i've risen it up to the highest it goes and um yeah so training wheels only ronix makes and so it's got a lot of cool reasons why you should buy this thing then if i click one of these buttons we'll go down to the offer section so it's kind of got like a features box and then we will check it out if i'm ready to order this
so here's the offer section so if you have reviews it'll automatically pop in those reviews it's got pricing it's got a discount it's got the two different sizes that you can select you can order multiple of these so this is awesome this is an amazing base page that was built in just a few minutes but now we're going to take it to the next level so what we want to do like i talked about at the beginning of the video we don't just want one page we want to be able to create ads multiple ads speaking to different possible buyer groups and send those to individual versions of this page so here's what we're going to do I'm gonna start using Whisperflow again.
So now I want to create 20 variations of this page. And so each page should be basically the same. The only thing I wanna do is change the headline and maybe one or two of the reasons.
And I wanna speak to 20 different possible. personas or types of buyers so a type of buyer for this product is use the best information that you have a type of buyer could be somebody that's like they just bought a super nice boat another one could be somebody that's just bored with wake surfing another could be somebody that wants a challenge another could be somebody that they've got maybe like knee issues and they don't want to do a bunch of jumps on a wake surfboard so come up with 20 different possible personas and reasons they would buy this product and create me 20 different versions of this page that are tailored to those buyer groups so now i'm going to let that get to work now one way you can make this way better is if you have a bunch of reviews so in our case when we build our own pages i'll export all of our reviews for that product could be thousands of reviews from shopify and i'll try to pull as many as possible from amazon or if you're just starting out you can pull competitors reviews feed that information in that process that i just gave feed that into claude and use that to inform
who's buying this thing and what do they care about? So I'm just having to do the best job it can with the information that it knows, which is still pretty good as you'll see. But if you have actual reviews, feed that in there and tell it to base it off of the most popular buyers and the things that they care about the most.
And if you wanna make it even better, have it use exact language that those customers used in reviews. But otherwise the process is exactly the same and we'll see the pages that it creates. all right so it just generated these pages so i'm going to check one out so if i look at one of these and so it says just bought the boat 10 reasons the rhonex balance series should be the first thing you put on it so that one's cool and then this one's interesting so board of wake surfing so board of wake surfing 10 reasons the rhonex balance series will make you make the lake feel new again so as you can see it generated 20 variations of this page in just a few minutes so your way to scale to a million dollars a month now would be literally to use ai also to create ads that speak to those reasons and send each of those ads to its appropriate page.
And nobody else is doing this only the biggest fastest growing brands, which is like point 01 % of the people advertising on Facebook. So you can use this process to sell anything could be a product could be a service could be a SaaS tool could be literally anything. And you can use this to be almost every brand on Facebook.
So I've got a lot more like this to share. So go ahead and subscribe to my channel right now. Then immediately go watch this next video because I show you how to put this into place and how to beat the biggest brands on the internet right now.

How to Use AI to Beat Big Brands on Shopify ($0 to $1M)

A 17-year ecommerce operator with $460 million in sales explains why one AI tool erased big brands' structural edge on Shopify, and the two moves that took a bootstrapped two-person brand from zero to a $1M/year pace in seven months.

September 13th
