Big Idea

The argument in one line.

Most LinkedIn posts that look viral are propped up by boosting, internal company circles or engagement groups, so a LinkedIn newsletter is the more reliable way to reach new people.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • A business owner who posts on LinkedIn regularly, gets two or three likes, and suspects the accounts with hundreds of likes are doing something you can't see.
  • A consultant or coach using LinkedIn to find paying clients who wants to know where to put the bulk of their posting effort.
  • Someone weighing LinkedIn newsletters against image, video, text and document posts and wanting one account's numbers to look at.
SKIP IF…
  • You want a sourced explanation of how LinkedIn's ranking works. The claims here come from one person's eight years of experience, not documentation or controlled tests.
  • You need a neutral read on engagement groups. The host used one himself and the video is also a funnel to his free diagnostic call.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

The host says viral LinkedIn posts usually come from four sources: paid boosts on a business page, paid boosts on a personal profile (allowed since 2025), colleagues at one company engaging with each other, or external engagement communities that flood a post inside the first hour so the algorithm pushes it. He admits he used the last one, says LinkedIn is cracking down on it, and advises against it. His alternative is a LinkedIn newsletter as 90 to 95 percent of your effort. He shows a slide of 228 posts from June to October 2026 where 88 newsletters drew 75 percent of impressions and 82 percent of new followers, then pitches a free 15 minute diagnostic.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • A post that gets 500 likes next to your 2 is often explained by boosting, a coordinated internal circle or an engagement group rather than better writing.
  • LinkedIn began letting people boost posts from a personal profile in 2025, so personal-profile reach is no longer purely organic.
  • The host claims that a burst of engagement in the first hour is what triggers LinkedIn to push a post wider.
  • Employees of one company who all engage on each other's posts create a built-in first-hour audience.
  • Off-platform engagement groups are artificial engagement, and the host says LinkedIn has been cracking down on them in recent years.
  • Per the host, engagement groups can help a little but can also pollute your results by attracting people who will never buy.
  • The host's slide shows 88 newsletter editions drawing 30,430 impressions against 5,056 for 72 image posts.
  • In the host's data the median newsletter got 228 impressions, versus 39.5 for images and 48 for videos.
  • The host reports newsletters brought 54 of his 66 new followers (82 percent) over four months.
  • His point is that format, not volume, was the variable: 88 posts of any other format did not come close to 88 newsletters.
  • The slide's own footnote says results come from one account and are not sales figures, so they show reach, not revenue.
  • He recommends regular posts be only 5 to 10 percent of your LinkedIn strategy, with the newsletter as the bulk.
Takeaway

Reach on LinkedIn is often manufactured, not earned

WHAT TO LEARN

Big engagement numbers on LinkedIn frequently come from boosts, coordinated circles or engagement groups, so compare your results with the right baseline and pick the format that reaches new people.

  • A huge-engagement post is not proof of better writing; paid boosts, colleague circles and engagement groups can all produce the same numbers.
  • Early engagement within the first hour is the signal the host says LinkedIn uses to decide whether to push a post to more people.
  • Engagement groups can inflate numbers with people who will never become customers, which can muddy what your analytics tell you.
  • Compare formats on the same account over the same period: in the host's data newsletters out-reached images, video, text, documents and articles.
  • Judge a format on followers gained and profile views as well as impressions, since those are closer to future clients than likes.
  • Treat one account's results as a hypothesis to test, since the slide itself says the formats differed in topic, age and distribution.

So have you ever scrolled through LinkedIn and noticed something that just doesn't make sense? One person publishes a post and get about 500 likes, dozens of comments and thousands of impressions. You publish something you believe is just as valuable and it probably is.
It only gets two likes. So what's actually going on? Is it because they have more followers?
Is it the time that they post it or is it LinkedIn recognizing something about their content that you're completely unaware of? So here's what's making this interesting. Two people can publish content about the same exact.
subject and get dramatically different results. And the difference isn't necessarily the quality that they're writing or the quality of writing. LinkedIn uses multiple signals to determine which content people are likely to find relevant.
But here's the question most business owners aren't really asking, and that is what signals are you sending LinkedIn and are they helping your content reach the right people? In this video, we're going to investigate why some LinkedIn posts receive extraordinary engagement while others receive almost none. And more importantly, how to use that knowledge to improve your own LinkedIn marketing strategy.
We're going to tell you how to do so in this video. Now, if you've been online or LinkedIn for any amount of time, you know that most business owners, they're not getting this type of engagement. This is our pulse.
I'm your humble host, Coach Solomon. Been on LinkedIn for eight years, 55 paying clients. Okay.
And it's 310 million monthly active users on the LinkedIn platform. So they claim 310 million. And if you use LinkedIn for any amount of time, you know that probably 97 % of those millions are not getting this type of engagement.
It's a mystery to most business owners. We're going to unlock it to the best of our ability. And based on our experience, what we know of, not to say we know everything, but we know more than the average business owner on LinkedIn platform.
So if you're trying to use the LinkedIn platform to find paying clients and actually produce results instead of using it just for a business card, you should subscribe to this channel, okay? Because not only, we don't just make YouTube videos. We don't just drop information about LinkedIn.
We're talking from experience, okay? And there's tons of YouTube videos that talks about LinkedIn. They can't speak from experience.
So there's four ways that only we know of where you can produce these type of results. Now, the first one is if you have a business page, you can pay to boost your content. OK, that's one way.
Pay to boost your content. And the second way is that as of 2025, LinkedIn allows you on your personal profile to boost your content. So the business page is different.
So if you see content on the business page, they have a lot of likes, follows. That's explainable. But what about the personal profile?
Most of the time you see content like this, it's always from the personal profile. Well, now as of 2025, LinkedIn allows you to boost your content from your profile. So that may explain it, but it doesn't explain the last 10 years, 15 years, why people was producing this type of result.
Okay. So then there's the other two ways that we know of. Say for instance, if you're a business owner and you're part of a company, right?
And everybody in that company has a LinkedIn account and they're all working together on the LinkedIn platform. OK, so since they're supporting each other and they're part of that little circle, they can support each other's content. OK, so that's one reason.
Now, the ultimate reason that I know of, which explains the reason how I got this type of engagement, is that there are external. Once again, there are external communities of LinkedIn business owners off of the LinkedIn platform where they congregate together to help engage on each other's content. So it's technically artificial engagement.
Now, when LinkedIn, when this algorithm sees that you get a certain amount of engagement. Within the first hour, they need to see a certain amount. And if they see that certain amount of engagement on your content after you post it within the first hour, they're going to grab your content and they're going to make it go viral because of that engagement within the first hour.
It tells the algorithm that your content is important. So they're going to blast it all over the LinkedIn platform. Now, this is what we know of.
These are only four ways. Business page, but it still doesn't explain how people get this type of engagement on their personal page. Now, LinkedIn allows you to boost your post.
So this may explain, but that's only 2025. What about the last 10 to 15 years? That is, people may be a part of the same company.
All of them have LinkedIn accounts. They're supporting each other content. Or the person like me that I took advantage of was an external LinkedIn community.
Offer the LinkedIn platform when the business owners actually participate and actually help your content go viral by means of manipulating the algorithm, in other words. So this is how we were able to go viral. And it's really sad because there's 310 million monthly active users on the LinkedIn platform.
97 to 98 % of these guys, they're posting for years with only two likes on their content. And people are gaming the system, right? You're killing yourself creating the best content you think is you.
There's, there is a C I'm, I'm, I should be, you should be, I should be charging you for what I'm about to tell you right now. There is a sea of content on Google as well as YouTube where those people who are creating those videos have no idea what they're talking about. They'll tell you, Oh, you got to create a better content.
You got to post that these hours. They have no idea what they're talking about. And that's the reason why you subscribe to my channel.
Okay. They have no idea what they're talking about. This is manipulation of the system.
Like I said, based on my eight years, I've been on a platform. And based on my experience, that's my shot at it. Now, if there's another way where people are really that brilliant when they're creating this magical content, it's possible.
I can't say it's impossible, but I don't think it's very likely. It's manipulation of the system or boosting your content. Okay, so what's the alternative?
Well, this is the system we were actually using. We're going to leave the link below. We're going to play the devil's advocate.
We don't suggest that you boost your content in those fashions and manipulate the system. In fact, during the last... couple years on a LinkedIn platform, they're really cracking down on engagement communities.
If you use this in the right way, it can help your business a little bit, but at the same time, it can actually pollute your results. So we don't suggest you use it, but depending on what you're trying to achieve, we're still going to leave it there anyway. We're not going to try to hold out on you.
We're going to try to tell you everything that we know. So my link is going to be below. You can follow me, connect, follow, take a look at what we're doing.
Book a 15 minute appointment, guys. Let's talk. See what we have going on.
And we're going to tell you the alternative. What you should be doing is the newsletter. You are scared.
Most business owners are afraid of newsletter because this seems a lot easy. Guys, posting content is not going anywhere. Your primary action on the LinkedIn platform should be posting content.
We're going to show you our metrics after this. The number one thing you should be doing is posting your content. And we made it easy for you where.
you can actually create a post for your newsletter in five seconds. It takes about 10 minutes to copy and paste to your newsletter, put it together. Some people might say, okay, well, you're making artificial intelligence.
Slot. No, we're going to tell you the reason why the content that we're making is potent, is highly potent, and it bears our own signature. In the content that we're making, you can create this content in like five seconds.
And you can post it to your newsletter in roughly 10 minutes or less. And that means you can post as many times on the day as you want. But guys, this is a dead end.
This is the reason why people hate posting because this is all they're doing. And the content on your feed is not going to go anywhere. Plain and simple.
You're supposed to post content, maybe 5 % of your strategy, 10 % of your strategy. The bulk of your strategy should be the newsletter. Plain and simple.
Now, the advantage of this, the system that we have for the newsletter, it's also going to benefit your content and it will allow your content eventually to be shown on some of your content, not all of it, but you're a prospect for your content being shown on Google, Bing, ChatGTP, summaries, et cetera, if you use the system that we're using, which relies on marketing research.
Now, if you were to go to ChatGTP and you would tell, and if you tell it to make me a newsletter post about this. Your newsletter is going to look like this. It's going to look stupid.
It's going to look dumb because artificial intelligence is extremely strong, but it is useless without marketing IQ. So if you want us, we're going to give you our marketing IQ, our intelligence. We're going to show you what we're doing.
Either you want us to run your newsletter for you or we'll show you our strategy. Okay. How to make a extremely potent newsletter.
That's extremely relevant for your niche. That's ahead of the game. as well as content that bears your thumbprint, your own signature, as well as insights.
You need intelligence, reasoning, strategy, insight, and that's what we're going to give you so that you can actually create your newsletters in five seconds, post it in 10 minutes, okay? Once we give you the intelligence and the IQ, this is going to be your chat GTP. Without this, your chat GTP is not very smart and it's going to create content for you as artificial intelligence slot, plain and simple.
Now, these are the results. Out of 88 posts, we can see that we posted a lot more, but still it really didn't make a difference because the numbers are so huge. Okay.
So 30 ,000 from June to October the 25th, 30 ,000 impressions compared to this image. 228 on average, each newsletter compared to this. It's no comparison.
Okay. 54 followers gain from your record. This is you just using posts all day long.
In other words, you're just posting content. And it's almost like a waste of your life, to be honest with you. Profile views, 115.
Can we see the damage? Okay. 75 % of my impressions comes from the newsletters.
82 % of followers gained comes from the newsletter. 68%. But we're going to simplify this for you because it sounds really scary.
Now, what if every format had posted 88 posts, just like the newsletter? What if I posted the images 88 from that date, June to October? 88 documents, 88 text messages, 88 articles.
Would it have made a difference? No. Okay.
The newsletter still dominates. Okay. So that's the direction that you should be heading in.
That's what a suggestion subscribe to our channel. Once again, marketing IQ plus artificial intelligence power. We are not just dropping theory.
We have social proof on like so many other YouTube video guys, as well as blog posts, we're presenting truth. So if you need help with that, with that newsletter, by all means. I'm going to leave a link below for a 15 minute diagnostic is for free.
You don't have to pay for it. You're going to fill out a few questions and we're going to take a look over those questions to see what you have going on in your business to point you in the right direction. But the key to your newsletter is research.
We've simplified that for you too. We've taken our IQ and we simplified that. We're going to have a prompt that you can upload 50 questions to interview you.
That's going to be part of the information too. Your newsletters is going to be a product of knowledge of marketing IQ, and it's going to distinguish your business from those other business owners in your niche. And it's going to dramatically increase your results on the LinkedIn community.
This is what you should be doing, guys. I'm your humble host, Coach Solomon. I'll see you guys in the next video.
