Big Idea
The argument in one line.
Hark differentiates itself from other AI agents through a fully customizable, proactive dashboard and a fast custom browser-use model, not through a smarter core LLM.
Who This Is For
Read if. Skip if.
READ IF YOU ARE…
You already use AI agent tools and want to see whether a customizable dashboard and proactive task suggestions actually change daily usage.
You're curious how browser-use automation performs on real tasks like online shopping, scheduling, or clearing out an inbox.
You read sponsored reviews that still cover real weaknesses, not just a polished pitch.
SKIP IF…
You need an agent that controls your local computer or desktop apps — Hark is browser and cloud-only right now.
You want a frontier coding agent — Hark's model isn't tuned for heavy coding work.
You're looking for an independent third-party comparison rather than a creator's own paid first-look.
TL;DR
The full version, fast.
Hark is a new AI agent that leads with a fully customizable home dashboard of live widgets, a proactive recommendation feed, and its own browser-automation model called Hark Handoff, rather than claiming a smarter underlying LLM. In the video, it builds and purchases a birthday gift from a single click, flags a fantasy football waiver claim on its own, builds a custom stock-tracking widget from a text prompt, and completes a live Target.com checkout. The honest tradeoffs: no computer-use yet (browser/cloud only), no way to take over mid-task besides retyping, and coding isn't its strength. Treat it as a proactive personal assistant, not a coding agent or a replacement for local device control.

Atomic Insights
Lines worth screenshotting.
Hark's selling point is a customizable, proactive dashboard and a fast browser-use model, not a smarter core LLM.
The agent completed a full birthday gift purchase, including addresses and a written note, from a single approval click.
Hark's custom model, Hark Handoff, plans its entire sequence of browser actions before executing any of them, which is what makes it move fast.
The agent scanned a user's fantasy football roster and injury reports unprompted and recommended a specific $14 waiver claim before being asked.
Users can create new home-screen widgets just by describing what they want in plain language, and the widget builds itself in the background.
Hark unsubscribed a user from 179 email senders and cleared roughly 100,000 unread promotional emails after one proactive offer and approval.
Hark currently has no computer-use capability; every action runs inside its own sandboxed cloud browser, not the user's actual desktop or local apps.
Users can't interrupt or redirect what Hark is doing mid-task by clicking; the only way to change course is to type a new instruction.
The reviewer disclosed a paid partnership with full editorial control and still spent roughly a third of the video listing the product's weaknesses.
Hark can schedule future actions, like a recurring grocery order or a dated gift purchase, instead of only responding to requests made in the moment.
Takeaway
What Makes an AI Agent Worth Using Daily
AGENT DESIGN LESSONS
The agents that earn daily use aren't necessarily the smartest models, they're the ones that build a personalized interface, work proactively in the background, and complete real multi-step tasks in one click.
02What makes it special
A product can differentiate itself from other AI agents through interface design and proactivity, not just a smarter underlying model.
Browser-use speed, not raw reasoning power, is what makes task automation feel instant rather than gimmicky.
03The interface: proactive recommendations
An agent that already knows your calendar, contacts and purchase history can compress a multi-step task like buying a birthday gift into one approval click.
Surfacing personalized, dated recommendations is what turns a chat window into something a user opens every day instead of only when stuck.
04More proactive widgets
A proactive agent earns trust by connecting unrelated data on its own, like matching an injury report to your specific roster before you'd think to check.
Recommendations that execute in a single click remove the friction that kills most AI agent habits before they start.
05Custom widgets and the interface philosophy
Letting users build custom dashboard widgets from a plain-language prompt turns a fixed product into something that reshapes around each person's actual workflow.
Pulling stock prices, news and social stats into one home screen can measurably cut the time spent checking separate apps.
06Hark Handoff: the browser-use model
A model purpose-built for browser navigation plans its full sequence of clicks before acting, which is what lets it move through checkout fast instead of hunting step by step.
Browser-use agents run inside their own sandboxed browser rather than your logged-in session, so what they can do depends on which sites they can authenticate into.
07Proactivity
Push-style alerts that surface finished background work, like a failed CI run or a cleared inbox, drive more daily engagement than any single chat reply.
An agent that can schedule a future action, like a recurring order or a dated gift purchase, turns itself from a tool you query into one that runs on your behalf.
08Projects
A single continuous agent thread avoids the confusion of managing dozens of separate chats, while still letting you split out dedicated spaces for ongoing work.
The interface for organizing ongoing work matters as much as the model underneath it once you're using an agent daily instead of for one-off questions.
09Weaknesses
Browser-only automation can't reach local files or desktop apps, so an agent without true computer-use is limited to whatever happens inside a browser tab.
Not being able to interrupt or redirect an agent mid-action, only retype the instruction, is friction that shows up the moment a task goes slightly wrong.
Glossary
Terms worth knowing.
Hark Handoff
Hark's custom in-house model built specifically for browser automation, tuned to plan a full sequence of clicks before executing them rather than navigating step by step.
Panel (widget)
A customizable module on Hark's home screen, built by prompting the agent in plain language, that displays live personal data like stock prices or a fantasy roster.
God thread
A single continuous agent conversation that holds all context over time, instead of the many separate disconnected chat threads most AI agent interfaces use.
Browser-use (vs. computer-use)
Automation that happens inside a sandboxed web browser the agent controls, as opposed to computer-use, which lets an agent click and type anywhere on an actual desktop, including local apps and files.

metaphor
A brand new, very impressive AI agent just dropped, and I think your mind's about to be blown by this one. It's called Hark. It's amazing.
It does some incredible things I've never seen any other AI agent do. I'm gonna show you all these crazy things that it can do that I haven't seen any other AI agent do. I was very lucky.
They reached out to me. They asked to partner up, and they gave me world -exclusive first access to this agent, which I'm gonna take you through everything, and like 99 % of the world has not seen any of this ever, despite the fact... They partnered up and gave me access.
I have complete editorial control. They can't change anything I say. I'm going to go through the good, the bad, the ugly, and I'm going to help you decide if this is the right AI agent for you.
This one is going to be a banger, so let's lock in and get into it. So this is the Hark agent. You can access it at hark .com.
There's a lot going on here. This doesn't look anything like any other AI agent you've seen, but here's what you need to know. There are three things that I think makes this really special.
and different from other AI agents out there. I'm going to go through them all. Number one is the interface.
This is a completely custom interface. It's completely yours. You could do anything you want with it.
I'll show you how to customize all the different things. It's really, really impressive. Number two is the custom LLM powering it.
They have a bunch of different models doing a bunch of different things. One of the main models they're using is their custom LLM Hark handoff, which specializes in browser use. So it is really, really good at doing things for you on the internet i'm going to show you some of the really cool things it's done for me and then three is the speed it's just really fast that's probably because of the custom llm but it's really fast and it is also very proactive let's go through all those things one by one though so let's start off with the interface which is like completely customizable and really cool over on the left hand side you see a bunch of different things going on everything here is custom the first things you see in the top left are going to be recommendations for the things that Wants to do for you based on everything it knows about you now check this out This use case is pretty amazing a couple of days ago was my sister and mother's birthday So it had a little widget here.
Hey, it's your sister's mom's birthday. Can we buy them a gift? I went okay, so I clicked it a minute later it had a two gift cards to Anthropologie all lined up so it saw they're into anthropology because of past email conversations I had with them.
It saw their addresses. It saw their emails from their last conversations. It wrote a note.
It put both the gift cards in a basket. And then there was one button here that said, Hey, are you ready to purchase it? I click a button and within like two minutes, the entire birthday for my sister and mom were completely taken care of.
I hit the order button. Boom. Your mom and Erica both got their cards by email.
Say you're good to go. Amazing. But going back to interface, I got a distracted there.
Top left of your interface, and this is all custom again, is recommendations for different things it can do for you based on what it knows about you. I just got asked to Matt Van Horn's podcast, so they want to schedule time with me, so I can click a button that schedules the time. It sees there's an issue with one of my web apps.
One of the GitHub actions we have is failing, so I can click that to get that fixed. It saw I'm into fantasy football, so it's looking at my fantasy. This might be a use case that impresses me the most out of all of them.
sees that waivers are coming up in two days and it's recommending I place a waiver claim for Will Shipley because I have Saquon Barkley on my team and he just got injured. So it's recommending I place a $14 waiver claim for his backup, Will Shipley. That's actually pretty amazing.
Under those recommendations, we have a bunch of widgets here. These are all Again, completely custom.
So you can see it has my ex -followers, YouTube subscribers. It has a starting running backs injury report. So it shows me all the starting running backs, the NFL or hurt.
So I can pay attention on who to pick up. It has news on all the players on my team. So if I expand this, you can see my fantasy team.
Don't get too angry at me if you see bad players here. It has all the latest news and product releases from all the different AI labs. Has my calendar.
Shows all the latest tweets from the different AI. I can scroll through them here. Then it has my emails.
All of this was made basically by me. All you need to do to customize your widgets on the left -hand side here is prompt your agent. So if I, for instance, wanted to track the price of Micron, I own a bunch of shares in Micron and say, make me a widget that tracks the price of Micron MU.
I hit enter and now it's gonna start getting work. So it says crafting your widget on it your micron panel So they're called panels is building will show up in your home shortly if I scroll here You can see a panel just popped up amongst my other panels that is being built and in a second I'm gonna have a fully built out new personalized widget here This is really cool because the interface of basically every AI agent we've ever used is exactly the same, right?
It's a left -hand side with a bunch of com Conversations and threads and then you have your chat in the middle every single one looks exactly the same But this is different. This is like almost like an operating system for agents, but this is different, right?
I won the beauty one of the beautiful parts about AI agents and boom there You can see the panel right there One of the beautiful parts about AI agents for me is I get to do way less of things I don't like and way more of things I do like right. I don't like email. I don't like doom scrolling on social media.
I don't like things like that. And while agents have helped Take those things I don't like out of my life.
I still need to go to those things to get information. Now with this kind of custom area over here, you see on the left, I can just get all my information right where my agent is. I can see all the stock prices.
I can see how my other social media is doing. I can get all the news on the things I care about. I no longer have to scroll or do scroll, do other things.
All the information I need is in one single place, which for me, I actually find like I use the internet less now. I'm like scrolling. my phone less.
I'm scrolling on this computer less. I could get more work done because everything I need is all in one place for me. And I know it sounds like I'm gushing.
I am. This is like a really cool feature. We'll go through some of the weaknesses later.
There are a few different weaknesses we'll go over, but this is an amazing one. I really like this kind of custom interface. If you've watched my past videos too, you know that I really think that the future of computing is this like highly customizable experience where the operating system and the computer around you morphs and changes based on who you are.
It's why I've talked about Omachi a ton in the past, right? Because it's a fully custom AI operating system. This is very much in the same vein where everything around you morphs and changes based on who you are.
When you use other agents and you kind of have the codex tabs or everything looks exactly the same. It's not morphing around you. This is really the only agent that kind of morphs around and gives you exactly what you need based on who you are.
The second thing I'm impressed with. is the custom LLM behind it. So it's called Hark Handoff.
It's built for browser use. So it's built for navigating the internet really, really quickly. And based on my experience, it's pretty incredible at it.
So I'll show you an example of how fast this moves. So I'll go ahead and can you go to target .com and add a Nintendo Switch 2 and Madden 27 to my cart. Please and the hit enter on that and what's gonna do in a second is it's gonna pop open its browser And it's going to use its model to actually go in and add those things to my carts I can purchase it really quickly and as you can see boom pops up This is the kind of in agent browser you see here on it.
I'm adding the standalone switch to as you see immediately It's on the target website here. Let's make this bitter bigger. I'll go here.
Boom. Okay. Now it's on my screen All right.
Now it's moving the mouse around as you can see it type Nintendo switch to very fast. Okay, it's switching it to ship And now I assume it's just going to quickly add it to its cart.
If I click on plan here, you can see exactly what it's thinking about. The kind of plans is switches things up here. You can see before it makes any moves, it plans out exactly what it's going to do, which I assume is why it can move so fast.
And boom, it added it to the cart. And now we go, it's going back to the search. You can see it's probably going to search your Madden NFL 27 type spectacularly fast.
It's searching for it. Let's see if it can find the Nintendo Switch version. It's looking at compatibility.
Okay, so it knows exactly where to go. Now I assume it is going to filter for Nintendo Switch 2. It knew exactly where to go.
Now it's okay, now it's selecting Nintendo Switch 2 and it's gonna apply it. And you can kind of see how it moves here, how it comes up with plans. It moves a lot different than other AI agents I've seen when it comes to browser use, which is really impressive here.
So the browser use, really, really impressive. I've been feeding it more and more of kind of my standard things I do in a browser. buying things, adding things to cart.
There you can see the task just got done. Scheduling Ubers, moving around my calendar, responding to emails, does it really well. And it can all be scheduled too.
So like if I have a friend's birthday coming up next Friday and I want to make sure I get something for them, I can say, hey, next Friday, make sure to buy this gift card, send it to my friend on that exact date, and it'll schedule a purchase out, which is sick. Or if you want to do like your groceries, hey, buy me these groceries every single week and send them to my house.
You can do that as well. It's also super proactive. constantly getting pings from it.
There's a mobile app as well. There's like an iOS app. I'm constantly getting pings of like, hey, I've been watching that GitHub action.
It failed. Do you want me to run a test and figure out what happened? Hey, I noticed your waivers are every Wednesday.
Do you want me to run a report every Monday so you can figure out who to pick up on your fantasy team? He even proactively wrote me a report on fantasy. I know I'm using fantasy a lot.
Sorry, it's the middle of the season. It's very important for me. But it even wrote me a proactive summary of how my team did this week.
I did not ask for this. I mean, you can even see a lot of the proactive questions they asked me a few days ago. Any plans for Saturday night?
Give me a vibe and time. I'll find a great dinner table nearby. Ask me about my sister's upcoming birthday, the event coming up.
Ask me if I want to start a new project. I'll show you projects in a second. It's just like constantly finding new things to do, which I think is like the biggest issue with a lot of AI agents right now, which is like you sign up for it, then you don't really know what to do with it and nothing gets done.
make sure you get things done with it because it's constantly giving you recommendations and things to do. You also have projects. So you can come in here and you can create new project.
These are kind of like spaces for specific things you're working on. I'm working on a video game. It's helping me build the video game.
So it actually codes really well. So this is like a, what I call a God thread AI agent, right? Where it's like a single thread AI agent.
It's not like 20 different threads at the manage that confuses you. It is single thread, but they give you project so you can split out different things you're talking about, right?
So I want to come in here and I wanted to make a, this is going to be my YouTube project helps me scout trending AI topics. I can create content on and I hit enter. Now I have my YouTube AI content topics project, right?
This is where I'd come specifically for this project. So while it's a great kind of God thread day to day, AI agent.
You can also split it out and have other specific areas of topics you can talk about and keep it all in one place as well. So projects are really helpful too. Here's another amazing one.
It proactively reached out to me, said, hey, you have about 100 ,000 unread promos sitting in your Gmail. Want me to clear them out and stop new ones? I said, yeah, stop all the promos, unsubscribe from all of them.
Let me know if you have any feedback you need from me. On it, I'm on it. And then a few minutes later, unsubscribe from 179 senders.
and boom, just like that, my entire inbox was cleaned up. It's pretty amazing. And it did it like incredibly fast too.
I think for sure the strength for me is the proactiveness across all of this. It's just like constantly getting things done I didn't even think it could do. Now there's a lot of really cool things here for sure, but there are a few weaknesses as well.
Number one is there's no computer use at the moment. Everything is browser use. So everything it does is in its own browser.
A use case for me, I find really important with AI agents is the ability. for me to be able to text it no matter where I am in the world and say, Hey, move this around on my computer, load up a local model on this computer, go on my Mac mini and change this around. Can't do it right now.
Everything is in the browser. Everything is in the cloud computer. Talk to the team.
It's coming soon. It's on the roadmap. But right now it can't do those kind of local on your device use cases.
One weakness with its cloud computer is you can't take over at the moment what it's clicking on, what it's doing. So to have it change what it's doing in the computer browser, you kind of have to type it out. Say, hey, instead of doing that, can you do this instead?
Hey, instead of typing that in, can you type this? It works. So you can type it in.
It'll do it what you say in the computer, but you can't take over the computer at the moment. So I'd like to see that. sure that's going to come very soon.
That's one minor weakness with the computer use at the moment. I also wish the model was a little bit better at coding. It's not frontier when it comes to coding, although like this isn't meant to be like your frontier coding agent, right?
This isn't, this is meant to be your personal assistant. It's meant to make it so you're not on your phone and your computer quite as much. But as someone who is a big time nerd, I'd love to be able to give it like a coding project and get amazing results.
from it. I don't think this is your daily driver coding agent.
I think this is more your personal assistant, get personal tasks done, and then maybe message a coding agent. Projects are cool. I like that you have your own space for specific topics.
I wish, you know, I could click and drag documents to it, give it more context, control the context of each project. Right now it's a little light, but I mean, it's literally day one for the agent as well. And while they do have native mobile apps, there's no native like desktop app, at least at the time of filming, there's no native desk.
that might change probably will change very soon but at the moment they don't have that either it's mostly cloud -based or if you're on your phone the mobile app but overall It's really, really cool. And I do think it's differentiated enough to be something you should be using.
This custom UI where you add whatever information you need, customize it any way you want and everything you need to get worked on all in one place rather than kind of your bare bones, normal AI agent interface with all the threads. I really, really like this. And the proactivity is amazing.
The fact that it can think of what you need to get done before you can even think of it is like supremely helpful. I don't know if I can. my sister, my mom, that gift on time.
If it wasn't for Hark, I hope they're not watching this video right now, but that proactivity saved me. I'll put a link for it down below. They are just starting to roll it out.
I think it is worth at least giving it a try. Again, thanks to Hark for reaching out to partner up and giving me access. Again, they had no control over anything I said in this video.
I just wanted to give you a sneak peek into what's going on with it. Really impressive stuff. If you learn anything at all, leave a like down below, subscribe, turn on notifications.
