Big Idea

The argument in one line.

New Text Motion 3.5 replaces manual keyframing with dedicated counter, per-letter ordering, continuous-loop, and channel-targeted styling controls, consolidating what used to take four separate panels into one reorganized inspector.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • You edit in DaVinci Resolve and use, or are considering, NeoEdit's Animated Text pack or New Text Motion plugin.
  • You build animated counters, countdowns, or stat reveals and want to see the control set before buying any plugin.
  • You want a reference for per-letter/word/line animation ordering, channel-targeted glow, or outline-only text treatments in any motion graphics tool.
SKIP IF…
  • You don't edit in DaVinci Resolve. This walkthrough is entirely Resolve/Fusion UI, not a general After Effects or Premiere technique.
  • You're looking for a narrative or entertainment video. This is a straight feature-by-feature software demo with no story or persuasion angle.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

NeoEdit walks through version 3.5 of his New Text Motion plugin for DaVinci Resolve, a paid animated-text tool for Fusion titles. The update adds a Counter mode for animated numbers and countdown timers, consolidates four separate character-level styling controls into one panel, gives every per-letter and continuous animation a direction (left-to-right, right-to-left, inside-out, outside-in, random), adds a toggleable background box, and introduces outline-only text, channel-targeted glow, and an erode effect. He demonstrates each control live inside the plugin's Controls, Animation, Continuous, and Styling pages, then confirms the update is a free upgrade for existing pack owners.

Where the time goes.

00:00 – 00:34

01 · Cold open: what's new in 3.5

NeoEdit lists the five headline changes in version 3.5: animated counters, full outline control with an outline-only mode, directional text animations, a new background box, and a reorganized inspector panel, then frames the video as a complete tutorial for new and existing owners alike.

00:34 – 01:16

02 · Installing the pack

Unzip the downloaded pack, choose the installer matching your OS (Mac, Linux, or Windows), run it, then reopen Resolve. The plugin then appears under Effects > Titles > New Text Motion, ready to drag onto the timeline.

01:16 – 07:33

03 · Controls page: presets, typography, and Counter mode

Covers presets and Manage Presets, the Text/Counter mode switch, typography (font, size, tracking, line spacing, anchoring), fill and the new vertical gradient, and the newly consolidated character-level styling panel. Then a deep pass on Counter mode: number counters with prefix/suffix, decimals, and thousand separators, three easing styles (linear, ease-out, custom curve), the new Slide Roll digit animation, and a Time counter that can count up or down, including a custom four-hours-to-twenty-minutes example.

07:33 – 12:54

04 · Animation page: Set Start/Set In and per-letter ordering

Introduces the new Set Start / Set In buttons for marking where an animation plays, shows the equivalent Fusion-page range slider, then walks through animating by letter, word, line, or all, with animation order options (forward, reverse, inside-out, outside-in, random). Covers the Fusion overlay easing-curve graph, then per-type in/out animations: scale, position, blur, color, Hold, Mirror Exit, and Erode, closing on the '67 million combinations' line.

12:54 – 14:34

05 · Continuous animation: loop vs. time scale

Shows always-running animations, scale, position/jitter, color streak, and font shuffle with a typing cursor, each switchable between infinite loop and time-scale mode, and each able to travel left-to-right, right-to-left, inside-out, outside-in, or random.

14:34 – 19:42

06 · Styling page: glow, outline, shine, and the new background box

Covers drop shadow, glow (channel-targeted by hue/saturation/luminance, plus anamorphic aspect control), outline with corner radius and the new outline-only mode, the shine effect, the new background box (trigger modes and per-target effect application to text/box/both), the stop-motion low-fps look, and motion blur. Closes on the Support page's set-default option.

19:42 – 19:59

07 · Wrap-up: free update and where to get it

Confirms the update is free for existing Animated Text pack or Full Stack owners, points new buyers to the link in the description, and directs bug reports and feature ideas to the Discord server.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • New Text Motion 3.5 consolidates four separate character-level styling dropdowns into a single unified panel.
  • The new Counter mode animates numbers or time values without hand-keying easing curves, using presets like linear, ease-out, or a custom drawn curve.
  • Slide Roll counter animation can alternate direction per digit, sliding every other number up while the rest slide down.
  • Time counters can count down from an arbitrary custom duration, such as four hours to twenty minutes, by converting hours and minutes into seconds and typing the total directly into the field.
  • Per-letter, per-word, and per-line animations can be set to play inside-out, outside-in, forward, reverse, or fully random order.
  • Combining the plugin's in/out types, orders, and easing options yields over 67 million possible animation combinations.
  • Mirror Exit lets an animation reverse its motion direction on the way out, so an entrance from the left can exit to the right instead of retracing the same path.
  • The Erode animation widens letters outward over time instead of scaling or sliding them, producing a distinct dissolve-like effect.
  • Glow effects can target a single color channel, such as hue, saturation, or luminance, and be shaped into an anamorphic glow instead of a uniform radial one.
  • Outline mode switches from filled to outline-only by moving the outline's position setting from outside to center, then checking an outline-only box.
  • The new background box can trigger per letter, link to the text animation, or stay always-on, and effects like glow or shine can be applied to the text, the box, or both independently.
  • Continuous animations (scale, jitter, color streak, font shuffle) each run in either looping mode or time-scale mode, and can travel left-to-right, right-to-left, inside-out, or outside-in.
  • A built-in stop-motion style option drops the animation's apparent frame rate as low as 12 fps for a deliberately choppy look.
  • The 3.5 update is a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the Animated Text pack or Full Stack bundle.
Takeaway

How New Text Motion's five panels actually work

WHAT TO LEARN

The control patterns behind counters, per-letter animation ordering, continuous loops, and channel-targeted glow are transferable motion-graphics techniques, not just settings inside one plugin.

02Installing the pack
  • Cross-platform Resolve plugins typically ship as one zip containing separate Mac, Linux, and Windows installers; run the one matching your OS, not the zip itself.
  • After installing a Fusion-based title effect, fully quit and reopen Resolve before it shows up in the Effects panel; it doesn't always hot-load.
  • Text-based title plugins live under Effects > Titles in Resolve, not Effects > Generators or Transitions, so check there first when a new title tool seems missing.
03Controls page: presets, typography, and Counter mode
  • Consolidate repetitive per-character style controls into a single panel with a target selector instead of duplicating separate style blocks for each range; it's faster to scan and edit.
  • An animated counter needs at minimum a start value, an end value, and an easing curve; prefix/suffix, decimals, and thousand separators are formatting layered on top of that core.
  • A custom-drawn easing curve for a counter, fast then slowing down, reads as more natural than either a pure linear count or a single ease-out preset.
  • A time counter that counts an arbitrary custom duration is built by converting hours and minutes into seconds and typing that total directly into a seconds field.
04Animation page: Set Start/Set In and per-letter ordering
  • Replacing manual offset sliders with explicit start/end marker buttons removes a layer of frame-math the previous control scheme required.
  • Per-letter, per-word, and per-line animation targets each need their own delay-between value tuned down from the default, or the first pass reads as too abrupt.
  • Animation order (inside-out, outside-in, forward, reverse, random) and exit-mirroring are separate controls from animation type, so the same scale or position animation can look completely different depending on which order or exit direction is applied.
  • A visual easing-curve overlay that graphs in, out, and both against time makes mismatched curve speeds, like a fast elastic-in paired with a slow default-out, visible before rendering instead of only guessable from the preview.
05Continuous animation: loop vs. time scale
  • Continuous, looping animations are a separate category from one-time in/out animations, each split between infinite loop and time-scaled modes that run once across the clip's length.
  • The same directional options, left-to-right, right-to-left, inside-out, outside-in, random, apply consistently across every continuous animation type, so learning the pattern once covers scale, jitter, and color streaks alike.
  • A font-shuffle animation reads cleaner when built from a hand-picked list of a few compatible fonts rather than randomizing across the entire installed font list, which can land on illegible combinations.
06Styling page: glow, outline, shine, and the new background box
  • A glow effect that targets a single color channel, like luminance, instead of the whole image lets you isolate the glow to specific colors in the text without a separate mask.
  • An anamorphic, non-uniform glow reads as more cinematic than a uniform radial glow, because real lens glow spreads asymmetrically rather than in a perfect circle.
  • Outline-only text is achieved by moving the outline's position from outside to center and then enabling an outline-only checkbox, a combination that isn't obvious from the outline panel alone.
  • A background box's trigger mode, per-letter, linked-to-animation, always-on, or fade/scale-in, matters more for whether it reads as intentional design than its color does, and effects can be scoped to the text only, the box only, or both independently.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Counter mode
A New Text Motion mode that replaces static text with an animated number or time value, controlled by start/end value, prefix/suffix, decimals, and an easing curve.
Slide Roll
A counter animation style where digits slide vertically into place, with options to slide up, slide down, or alternate direction per digit.
Character-level styling
A targeting system that lets you apply a different color, size, font, or position to a specific letter, word, or range of letters within one text block.
Set Start / Set In
Buttons on the Animation page that mark exactly where an animation begins and ends by pressing them at the desired frame, replacing manual offset-slider math.
Mirror Exit
An animation option that reverses the direction of motion on the way out, so an element that entered from one side can exit toward a different, chosen direction.
Erode
A per-letter animation type that widens each letter outward over time rather than scaling, sliding, or fading it.
Continuous animation
A looping or time-scaled animation, such as scale, jitter, color streak, or font shuffle, that runs for the full duration of a clip rather than firing once on entrance or exit.
Fusion overlay
A graph view, opened from the Animation page, that visualizes the in and out easing curves over time so mismatched curve speeds are visible before rendering.
Outline-only mode
A text treatment that shows only the stroke around each letter with no fill, achieved by centering the outline position and enabling an outline-only checkbox.
Anamorphic glow
A glow effect stretched unevenly along one axis (horizontal or vertical) rather than spreading uniformly in all directions, mimicking real lens glow.

New Text Motion just got a big update. This is version 3 .5 and a lot has changed. You can now build fully animated counters.
You get full control over your outlines and you can make outline only mode. And all your text animations including the continuous ones can now run left to right, right to left or inside and out. And you can also add a background box behind your text.
And the whole inspector panel has now been cleaned up and reorganized so it's easier and better to use. So in this video I'm going to walk you through the entire plugin in DaVinci Resolve and how to install it. I'll show you everything that's new and how to use it all.
So whether you just got the pack or have had the pack for a while. simply just want to see what the plugin can do this is the full tutorial for you now let's just get right into it all right so once you've installed the pack you will get a zip file and we'll just start off by unzipping this and then just go into the folder here and then we can see we have three installers so we have one for mac we have one for linux and one for windows so you'll just go ahead and press on the installer for your operating system so i'll choose the one for mac and i'll just double tap that press and continue install and then you'll just need to write your password and then press and install software and then just press allow and then that's done so now If your adventure is all open, you'll just need to reopen that and then you'll be good to go.
So once we've installed it, we can find her under effects here, then titles and then new text motion. So I'll just grab the new text motion and drag that on timeline. And then we can already see if we stop playing it, we can see we have an animation, which is just the default letter slider.
So first off, if you want to, you can choose a preset. So for example, we can do letter slider elastic. So that's pretty clean.
And then if you want to make a preset, you can go under manage presets, then choose a name and then. per save once you have dialed in all these settings that you want and then you can find it under the presets and then the button right here and then we can also choose which mode we want so right now it's in text but you can also make it a counter if you want to and i'll get back to that a little bit later on for now if you want to we can change the text whatever so let's just type something this is way too easy and then we get a nice animation and then we can choose the lesser case if we want it to be novel as a case like this we want it to be all captionated or all lower case but i'll just go with the default and then you can choose whatever font that you want to use then we can choose the size of it and we can choose the tracking so this is just how close the letters are to each other and if we have multiple lines we can also choose the line spacing and then we choose if we want it to be anchored to the left so this way if we start writing something right from the left side we can also do it to the right if we write something new it will just drive towards the left side like that so i'll just press center and then reset the position then we can choose
the fill so it's in here we can choose color of the text we can also make it a gradient if we want to and now in the new version of the update we can also make it a vertical gradient which we couldn't do before so then you'll just need to type a 90 and then you'll get a vertical gradient like this but i'll just keep it until it and then white and now the character level styling also works a little bit differently because before we had like four character level styling drop downs but now it's all in one so then you just choose which of these styles you want to be looking at so for example we can choose which color we want like this and let's make the two first words and if you want to you can also make it snap to words like this so it'll just snap to the whole words but if we remove that we can choose the exact letters that it's affecting and if we want to we can also make it a little bit bigger like that and we can also enable offsets so we can choose exactly where it is if we want to we can add it right above like this i'll just remove that and if we want to we can also change the font like this which is also pretty cool but let's just enable these right
here and then I will show you how you can do with another one so if we want to we can also go into number two and then just drag this to end and choose easy and then we can also have a character level styling on there but I'll just remove all of this and then I'll show you how you can use the counter mode so then you'll just choose counter and now you can choose if we want it to be number or if you want it to be cut time but now I'll just show you the number first and then we'll go deeper into the time afterwards so in the counter right here we can firstly choose which numbers we want it to count from So let's just make count from zero to 21 ,000.
And then just you can type if you want anything before the text, we can type dollar, for example. And then after we can type in a year and then we'll get a nice counter like that. And if just delete this year, now we can also choose the decimal.
So if we want to have multiple decimals, we can do that. And let's just do one. And then if we choose this one here and make it 21 ,000 .2.
And then you can choose the thousand separator. So you can choose if you want no thousand separator. you want it to be a comma or if you want it to be a period like we do in europe or you can just do space like this as well i'll just do comma for now and then under counter motion we can basically choose the easing curve so linear is basically just counts like in a linear curve ease out it will go count fast in the beginning and then it will slow down over time i like to use custom curve so then you can just draw your own curve so then it will just count super fast in the beginning and then slow down over time then you can choose the length of the animation so how many frames you want the count to last or if you actually want it to be over the whole clip you can also do that and if you want to offset it to start a little bit later you can just drag up the offset to 64 and then it will start counting a little bit later as you can see right here and if you want to you can also now do slide roll which is also super cool so then you get like this nice animation instead as you can see right here but i'll just make the length a little bit shorter then it will look a bit better and you can see we get like this pretty clean slide roll right here and
that we can choose if we wanted to slide up or down like this or alternate so every second one slides up and every second one slides down which also looks pretty clean like that and for this i'll just make the animation a bit shorter and then this looks pretty good and the speed is basically just how many times it will roll so if you drag it up now it will roll over the numbers like three times if you do zero it'll just go to the exact number like that and the height if we go to where the slide roll is going on you can see if i drag the height up we can see a lot more numbers like that and the soft edge is basically just how soft is the edge like that which is also pretty cool now we'll just try and do time instead and you can see it starts counting up over time and then we choose if we wanted to have these seconds if we want to have the milliseconds and if we want to have hours so if we make the clip like super super long you can see it starts counting up like that and then you can see we have slide row right now so that looks pretty cool and then if we want to add anything before
can do that if we want to add any text afterwards we can also do that and then we choose if we want it to be like the clip time or if we wanted to just be a custom time like this so for example in my case sometimes i mentioned that without my plugins it will take like four hours but if you use the plugins it will take maybe 20 minutes instead this new text motion will save you a lot of time instead of using keyframes and manual easing so then you can symbolize that with a counter like this a time counter and then for example let's say we wanted to be counting from four hours down to let's say 20 minutes for example we'll just need to type four and all of this is in seconds so we'll need to type four times three thousand and six hundred because there is three thousand and six hundred seconds in one hour so then you can see it will start at three hours but i'll just need to remove the animation so we can see it will start on four hours like that and then count down to 16 minutes and then we can just if we want it to be
say 20 minutes we'll just type 20 and times that with 60 because there's 60 seconds in one minute and then you can see now it comes from four hours down to 20 minutes like that and that's basically how counter works at both the time and the number counter so now let's just go ahead and take a look at the animation page so let's enable that if you want to choose where the animation starts and ends you can just use these before we have like the offset sliders but now you'll just use these ones up here where it's a set start and set in So let's say I want the animation to start at this time right here.
Just press set start and then the animation will come on right here. And we can press set in right here. And then the animation will go off right there.
And it looks a little bit different inside of the Fusion page. So let me just jump in there real quick. I've just added a new text motion by pressing shift and space and typing new text motion.
You can see we also have the range slider. So here you can manually choose. where the animation starts so right now it's on frame 32 you can also just press the start like that and just set it and this will probably also come to the edit page as well but the reason why it's only in the fusion page right now because it didn't really work too well inside of the edit page so we'll just need to figure that out and then it'll be also added there but here we can choose if we want it to be animating by letter by word or by line by all so let's just try and do word animation instead and then you can see it animates up super fast so then we'll just need to drag up the delay between a little bit like that and then it will look more natural and then if we want to animate out by letter we can just link and animate by and then do letter and then it will animate separately out the letter and then we just might need to go to custom here and turn down the length again so then you can see we get a nice animation like that and then we choose the animation order so like a letter again then you can choose if you want it to be inside out so it all animates up from the inside and then out or the outside in if you want it to be a forward animation
like that or if you want it to be a reverse animation or a random animation like that and then if you don't like how it looks you can just choose the receipt and drag that up and then it'll look good and then down here we can choose the animation length so if we want the animation to be slower we can just drag that up or if we want it to be faster we can drag it down and then we can choose globally if we wanted to animate in or if we wanted to animate out or both so let's say i only want an animation i'll just enable the out checkbox like that i'll just re -enable it then i'll you can also change the easing curve so right now it's on elastic as you can see but we can also make it exponential then we'll just get a nice lean animation like this and if you want to see a curve of everything we just enable this show graph and then enable the fusion overlay down here so just press this jump down press fusion overlay and then you can just size it up drag it around make it look exactly as you want to so here you can easily visualize how the animation curve will be looking so let's say you want a exponential cover out and then elastic in you can easily visualize that and then you can choose what you want to be looking at so if you just want to be looking in you can just drag this down or just press in here or you can look at the out or just
follow it so if you drag this down you can see it just follows the time like that I'll just remove this curve for now and it's really important to remember to check that off when you are rendering the animation because if you don't do this it'll just be left inside the image and as you can see once we have an elastic animation like this it goes pretty fast but the out doesn't go fast so you'll just need to do custom and then just drag up the in -length a little bit like this and this is clean but honestly I just want to make an exponential and link it and do link like this and then just make it 30 seconds and that's good and then you can also do like word animation line animations and all that stuff as i showed before but let's try and make a letter scale in then just go to scale here so now you can also choose if you only wanted to animate in if you want to animate both or out so before you can only choose it up here you had to do custom but now you can choose right here so then it would be easier to choose your exact animations for the in or the out and this looks pretty clean and for the out animation let's just do a position animation and then
out like that so it only goes out so we get like scale up in and then a slide down out and on the in we can also add a blur we can also add a blur on both the in and the out and we can also add some color animation so we can make like orange color like this and we have also added the one called hold now so if you want four Sometimes when you're doing a fade in, it will just remove all the color basically before you can actually see the color.
So the hold, if I remove all of the other animations real quick, you can see just holds the color for a couple of frames. So you'll be able to see the color, which is pretty cool. And let's say if we want it to be a color like this going in and on the out, we want it to be a blue color.
You can just mirror exit and then it'll have a nice and blue color on the way out. If you wanted to, for example, you wanted to animate up. Like that.
But you want it to make it animate right on the out. You can just press mirror exit. And then on the exit direction.
You can just do right like this. And then it will go right on the way out. Which is pretty cool.
So yeah this is basically how you can use this. You can also add an erode animation. So let me just show you that one real quick.
Let's remove all of these other ones. And enable the erode. It basically just makes the letters wider and wider like that.
This is also giving a really clean effect. I'll just remove this one for now. And let's just do a simple slide up.
and slide out right and just remove the mirror exit and add a fade in so yeah you can pretty much combine these animations however you wish there's over like 67 million animation combinations you can do so you're not gonna run out of any new ones to try any soon and now you can see we get this nice slide up and slide right at the end but we can also go to the continuous page and add like some continuous animation so we can do a scale so then it'll just add a nice continuous scale to it and then we can choose if we want it to be the mode to be loop or if we want it to be time scale so then it'll just scale up over time like that and then you can also make it so it's scaling by letter a word or all i usually just do letter and then you can choose the scale amount so how much it scales the speed as well and the spacing so yeah and then you can choose if you wanted to animate from left to right right to left inside out or outside in or random and you can also do like these jitter animations which are also super cool so we get like a nice jittery shaky effect and we do position so this is just like a wave i can also choose the angle of it like that and you can also make it
time scale so over time it will just go down for example like that or we make it go up over time and you can also add like a color animation so you can make this color streak going through everything like that and just turn up the color amount and turn down the width a little bit then you can see we get like this nice color swipe that's going from left to right or right to left if you want to as well and you can also make go inside out like that or outside in as well if you want to yeah there's a lot of different ones to try you can also make it a font shuffle so it switches between a couple of fonts like this you can also make it random but sometimes it looks a little bit weird if it has some fonts that looks like this right here so i like to just do pick font and then just find a couple of fonts to use so now you can see just switches between these and then we can add the shuffle speed drag that up a little bit like that and we also add a typing cursor right behind it and then we can add some styling to it
So if we want to add a drop shadow, which is hard to see right here, but we can make it red and then it would be a bit easier to see. Then we can choose the distance, the blur, the strength, and make it shadow only if we want to basically choose whatever we want. And we can also add a glow to it, which we can choose the channel of it.
So if we have some, let's do like an orange color here, we can make it saturation. And then yeah, we'll probably need to go to character level styling instead. And now we have like a blue color.
Then we can make it so on the saturation, it only goes on the blue color like that. I'll just. choose luminance and then just drag it down like this then everything will be glowing then we choose the intensity of it the radius as well and the spread Or the gamma channel.
And we can choose the falloff as well. And the aspect. Like this.
So if we want it to be like a vertical glow. We can do that. Or a horizontal glow.
Like anamorphic glow. We can also do that. And we can choose the quality.
So I'll just use mid. Because you can't really see the difference between high or mid. And we can also do character level styling.
So if we only want the glow to be on these ones here. We can do that with this checkbox. And we can also add an outline.
Like this right here. And we can make it. Let's make a blue one.
And then we choose the. corner radius so if we go here you can see it will start rounding off the corners a little bit like that and we can choose if we want the position to be on the outside on the center so it'll just be in center like this or the inside i'll just usually do outside that's usually the best but if you want to make outline only you can just do center and then press an outline only like this here and then we'll get the outline only and not like the filled inside and with this you can also make some pretty cool effect with the shine where we get this really cool shine effect and then you can add like you can choose how intense the shine is you can choose the width of them and the soft edge and the overall placement and the specific placement of each shine and you can choose how many shines you want also right here and you also go into the edge controls then you choose the soft edge on the edge how big the edge is and the edge width so if you want to make the edge a bit wider you can do that and make it less intense as well so that's pretty cool now i'll just reset it to some pretty default settings and let's just make remove this character level styling and then we'll take a look at the background right here which is new so if we just make that a red color like this we can see right now it follows the animation
with the letters but we can also make it so it's always on so it'll just be always on like this which is pretty cool and we can also make like a fade in so it's fade ins or we can also make it a scale in and animate by is just if you want it to be letter as it is right now or if you do link to animation it'll just be linked to whatever you choose over here but you can also make it all like this which usually just look the best and then i'd probably do like always on like this and this looks pretty clean if we just go ahead and remove the color thing here and it will look pretty good and then you choose the opacity of it so if you want to be less intense you can do that or you can also choose the padding on the x and the y and the corner radius as well and then you can choose if you want the effects to be applied to the text or if you want them to be applying to the box or both so let's go ahead and add a shine and a glow So then you can see right now we are applying it to the text, all of the other effects, but then we can also do box, then it will be applied to the box or we can do both and then it will be applied to both of them, which is pretty cool.
So I'll probably just do text right here and then just turn down the intensity a little bit of the glow and then it looks pretty good. And then we have the animation styling. So animation styling is if we want some stop motion where it basically makes it have a low frame rate look like this right here, where the frame rate is 12 FPS.
and we can also make it even less fps so then just have a really low frame rate like this We also have it make it have a little another nice animation where you can do like a word animation. You can do an erode and then just enable the blur and also have the fade and then make it red color the word as it did and then turn up the length quite a lot and the delay between just remove this position here and make it both right here.
Then you can get like this super clean animation right here. You can see why it has like this erode effect. And if you combine this with a little bit of.
jitter in the continuous page and then you get a super nice look like this right here and motion blur is if just if you want some motion blur on your animations you can add it right here and if you are having performance mode on you won't be rendering the motion blur but it will render on your export so that's also pretty cool and on the support page right here let's say you want this text to be your default text you can just press and set default and then it will make this exact text animation your default What I usually would do is I will choose animation I use a lot, choose the exact fonts I use and all that stuff and then press the default.
So anytime you just go ahead and go in here and add a new, new text motion, it'll just have these controls by default, which is pretty nice. So that's basically it for the new text motion. If you already own the animated text pack or the full stack button, this update is completely free.
And if you don't have the pack yet and like what you saw, the link is down in the description if you want to grab it. And if you find a bug or have troubles with anything or simply just got an idea for the next update, just join the Discord server linked in the description.
Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one.
The Hook

The bait, then the rug-pull.

NeoEdit opens with a flat list of what changed in New Text Motion 3.5: animated counters, full outline control including an outline-only mode, directional animations that now run left-to-right, right-to-left, inside-out, or outside-in, a background box behind the text, and a reorganized inspector panel. What follows is a full, unhurried walkthrough of every one of those controls inside DaVinci Resolve.
