Big Idea

The argument in one line.

AI-generated video tools have eliminated the filming and editing bottleneck entirely, making topic selection and posting consistency the only remaining levers for a profitable faceless Shorts channel.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • You want to earn YouTube ad revenue without appearing on camera or learning video editing.
  • You are evaluating faceless channel models and want to see the production workflow end to end.
  • You have limited daily time and need a batch-production system you can run in an hour or two.
  • You are curious whether YouTube Shorts RPM has improved enough to make daily posting economically worthwhile.
SKIP IF…
  • You already run an established channel and want advanced monetization strategy beyond ad revenue.
  • You want a human-creative approach and are skeptical of AI-generated content quality.
  • You are looking for paid ads or affiliate income models -- this covers ad revenue only.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

YouTube Shorts RPM has jumped from 2-4 cents to 10-20 cents per thousand views and is still rising as more advertisers compete for short-video placement. The host argues the last remaining barrier -- production -- is solved by Vid.AI, which takes a topic prompt and outputs a complete scripted, narrated, visually illustrated Short in a few clicks. The actual work left for the creator is picking a topic people are already searching for, posting at least once a day, and using YouTube Studio analytics to identify which topics are driving subscriber growth so you can double down on them and drop the rest.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • YouTube Shorts RPM has risen from 2-4 cents to 10-20 cents per thousand views and continues climbing as advertisers compete for short-video inventory.
  • The faceless channel model eliminates every production constraint -- no camera, no lighting, no editing -- leaving topic selection as the only real skill.
  • Vid.AI generates a complete scripted, narrated, and visually illustrated Short from a single text prompt in under two minutes.
  • Recycled content -- screen-recording another creator video -- is now actively policed by YouTube and risks channel strikes.
  • A Short that does not hook the viewer within 3 seconds is effectively invisible; scroll on Shorts happens faster than on any long-form format.
  • Captions are not optional for Shorts: a large share of viewers watch without audio in public and will scroll rather than unmute.
  • Batch-producing a week of videos before going live removes the daily pressure that causes most faceless channels to go inconsistent and stall.
  • YouTube Studio analytics tell you exactly which videos are driving subscriber growth -- that data tells you which topics to scale and which to shelve.
  • Running two channels on different topics simultaneously is a low-overhead split test; the winner gets full attention, the loser gets quietly dropped.
  • Posting in mornings and evenings outperforms midday because that is when people reach for their phones around commute and wind-down routines.
  • Social proof compounds: the more likes and shares a video accumulates, the more aggressively the algorithm promotes it to cold audiences.
  • You do not need to know a topic deeply to make content about it -- the AI writes the script; your job is to pick a subject people are already searching for.
Takeaway

Five decisions that determine whether a faceless Shorts channel earns anything.

WHAT TO LEARN

The production bottleneck is gone -- AI handles scripting, narration, and visuals in minutes -- so what actually determines results is the five choices the tool cannot make for you.

  • Pick a topic with existing search demand, not one you personally find interesting -- the algorithm surfaces what people already seek, not what you want to say.
  • YouTube Shorts RPM has risen from 2-4 cents to 10-20 cents per thousand views and continues climbing as advertisers chase short-video inventory; the economics are now viable for a daily-posting operation.
  • The 3-second hook is the only real editorial decision left: if the opening line does not create immediate curiosity or tension, viewers scroll before the content has a chance.
  • Captions are a non-negotiable accessibility feature for Shorts -- a large share of viewers watch without audio in public and an uncaptioned video loses them immediately.
  • Analytics are the actual product of your first 30 days: watch-time and subscriber-growth data tells you which topics to scale and which to drop, so treat early videos as research, not assets.
  • Batch-producing a week of videos before going live removes the daily pressure that causes most faceless channels to go inconsistent and stall.
  • Running a second channel on a different topic simultaneously is a low-overhead way to run a niche split test -- the winner gets your full attention, the loser gets quietly shelved.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Faceless channel
A YouTube channel where the creator never appears on camera -- all content uses AI-generated or stock visuals, voiceover, and automated scripts, removing the need for filming equipment or on-camera presence.
RPM (Revenue Per Mille)
The dollar amount a creator earns per 1,000 video views after YouTube takes its cut -- the key metric for comparing monetization across channel types and time periods.
Vid.AI (Vidai)
An AI tool that generates complete faceless YouTube Shorts from a text prompt -- handling the script, voiceover narration, and AI-generated visuals in a single workflow.
Batch production
Creating multiple videos in a single session and scheduling them to post over several days, so you maintain a consistent upload cadence without having to produce content every day.
3-second hook
The opening statement or visual of a Short that must create enough curiosity or tension within the first three seconds to prevent the viewer from scrolling away.
Recycled content
Re-uploading or screen-recording another creator video without permission -- a practice YouTube now actively detects and penalizes with demonetization or channel strikes.

00:00Stop wasting months grinding on YouTube for pocket change. What if one YouTube Short could earn a creator over $3,000? Yes.
00:08You read that correctly. Creators are making serious cash from YouTube Shorts. Companies are spending more money on short videos than ever before.
00:16The amazing part is you never need to show your face to join this opportunity. Using AI power, you can make YouTube Shorts automatically. This means zero filming and zero editing.
00:27You just click some buttons and upload. In this video, I will show you step by step how to do this. I will explain everything and share an amazing AI tool that will handle the entire process for us.
00:37If you wanna turn AI into your money making assistant, and honestly, who doesn't want that? Let's jump right in. Many people still believe making money with YouTube shorts is pointless.
00:47They say things like you will only earn a few cents with that. Good luck trying. But that thinking is outdated.
00:53Being honest, not long ago, YouTube shorts had terrible pay rates. People earned between 2 to 4¢ per thousand views. That amount was ridiculous.
01:02Nobody wanted to work for that. But those numbers have jumped to 10 to 20¢ and keep rising.
01:08Why is this happening? Companies finally understand that people love short videos. They will pay big money to place ads on these videos.
01:15Things will get even better as YouTube keeps promoting Shorts. These payment amounts will continue growing. More companies joining means higher competition for ad spots.
01:24Higher competition equals more money for creators like you. Now that you understand there is real money in Shorts, let's discuss your channel foundation. That foundation is choosing the right topic area.
01:36This is the most important step in my opinion. If you wanna build a profitable faceless YouTube channel for Shorts, your topic needs to meet certain requirements. Those requirements are high demand, high engagement, and no face required.
01:48The beauty of a faceless channel means no awkward camera moments like mine. Every moment becomes awkward for me anyway. You don't stress about lighting or makeup or getting ready.
01:58It becomes pure content creation. Whether you feel camera shy or just don't wanna become an influencer, I understand completely.
02:06This method will work perfectly for you. What topics work best? You want something broad enough to attract viewers, but specific enough to reach your target audience.
02:15Here's an important tip. Social proof matters greatly. If other people see likes and shares and comments on a video, they will more likely watch it.
02:24YouTube will keep promoting that content. Although sometimes I find videos on TikTok that are funny videos with no views and no likes. I wonder why this appeared on my feed when it's actually funny.
02:35We call that a mysterious discovery, and this is your example of finding hidden gems. But here's what you should avoid.
02:42We don't wanna steal content from other creators. YouTube is stopping recycled content. We don't wanna screen record someone else's video and post it ourselves because we could get in trouble if we don't ask permission.
02:54Instead, we will use an AI tool called Vid AI to create our content. To summarize, first pick a topic that works for faceless content.
03:03Then choose something with high audience demand, meaning people will actually watch this content. Pick something highly engaging, meaning people will like and share and comment. Avoid reused content.
03:14Now that you know how to pick the right topic, let's start creating a short. Creating high quality YouTube shorts used to be difficult and take forever because you had to brainstorm ideas, make a script, record the video, edit the video, add captions, maybe do voice work.
03:29We're gonna skip all of that. With just a few clicks, Vidyi will handle everything for us. We don't have to spend hours coming up with ideas like I do.
03:38I'm I'm gonna show you exactly how I would create a YouTube short using Vidyai right now. I have it open, and I'm gonna create a new project. Here's where I can choose which type of video I want to create.
03:48I'm gonna do a faceless short. If my topic worked for the fake tech story, I could do that, or a split screen video. I'm just going with the regular faceless short.
03:57Then I can put my title name here. I'm just going to keep the AI created title, whatever it suggests. Something I love about Vidai is maybe I don't know which topic I want yet.
04:07Look at this. We can experiment with all these different topics and make a video in the health topic, or science, or technology, or travel, or cooking, or art, or sports, or financial advice, or relationship advice.
04:20The list goes on and on. Or let's say I knew what I wanted to create my video about. I would put a prompt right here, or maybe you have a complete script ready, you could paste that there.
04:30But if you don't wanna write a script, no pressure, you don't even have to think of a video topic if you don't want to. So or you would I want it to you first for maybe your ready pews half plate. I think I'm gonna make my video very educational.
04:44It could be a fun story. You could do literally anything you want with this, but I'm gonna talk about greenwashing in the beauty industry. That is just a random topic I've been creating videos about in one of my classes.
04:55Actually, we set up a YouTube channel, and we've been learning about it in my business class, which has been kind of fun, but I already know how to do everything. So I feel like a genius right now in that class because I'm like, yeah, I know how to improve my videos already. This video is about greenwashing in the beauty industry.
05:11Then I get to select a narrator. I'm gonna choose the female voice. Then we get to choose a video source.
05:17I'm just gonna do natural AI created images so it looks as realistic as possible. Sometimes these images look incredibly realistic, or I could also do cartoon, but I think natural makes the most sense.
05:29There are also gameplay videos like the subway surfers in Minecraft or viral videos with the soap carvings and hydraulic press, but I'm going with natural. Then I'm gonna hit generate content. Just like that, we have a complete script and all our images created.
05:43This is where you can get into the customization aspect if you want. Or if you think this video is perfect, you could just hit next. But I would suggest reading through the script, making sure everything looks how you want it to look.
05:54And if you don't like one of these images, you can change it. At a quick look, all these images look pretty good. But if you wanted to change one, you could hover over here and then find that section in the script and just hit regenerate.
06:06But I think this looks good, so I'm gonna hit next. I'm gonna hit generate and my video is done. Now I have the choice to add some music, play around with the captions, what color I want it to be, what size.
06:17I'm just gonna say everything looks good. Let's take a look at this video. Ever heard of greenwashing?
06:22It's a sneaky practice in the beauty industry. Brands claim to be eco friendly, but are they really? Many products use green packaging to mislead consumers.
06:31To uncover the truth, look for certifications that ensure authenticity, support brands that prioritize sustainability. Real change starts with informed choices.
06:40These images look real together. We can combat greenwashing, choose wisely, and demand transparency from beauty brands.
06:48Together, we can create a greener future. I like this. I'm actually gonna submit this.
06:53I was unconsciously doing my homework because this week I have to submit a YouTube short for my fake channel that I created for my class. Unconsciously, I just did my assignment while filming a video. I'm sorry I was so boring.
07:05We could also do a more fun video too. But that is how easy it is to create a YouTube short right now. Vidia is a complete game changer because number one, you don't have to have any experience to create a high quality and engaging short.
07:19Two, it saves hours. You don't have to spend any time researching or editing the shorts or finding stock photos and videos. Three, it is ready for making money.
07:29You're not copying anybody else's content, and it is also very algorithm friendly. Now that we have our YouTube short created, something I would do is maybe create a small collection and make five videos, let's say. Then plan which days you will post those videos.
07:44Then the key to posting will be staying consistent and also studying your performance of your older videos so you can improve in the future. Posting frequently will be the key to growth here, but creating new videos can be quite tiring unless we use an AI tool. We can create endless script ideas without getting burned out.
08:01We can create AI powered visuals, meaning we don't have to take any photos or videos. It is very easy to batch produce, which is something I would encourage you to do just to ensure you're posting frequently and consistently. Once your shorts are live, tracking their performance is crucial.
08:17YouTube analytics will provide lots of data that you won't want to ignore. First, they give you your watch time and audience retention, which just means how long are people staying on your videos.
08:27Are they clicking off, or in this case, are they scrolling away? More likely. YouTube studio also shows you engagement rates.
08:35So are people commenting? Are they sharing your videos? And also subscriber growth.
08:40Which videos are bringing in more subscribers? And this gives you a major advantage for your channel. So do not skip out on this.
08:46Now that you've got Videai creating scripts and making the videos for you, but if you upload these videos without improving them, you're missing out on views and also money. The first thing you wanna do is make sure you're nailing the hook of your videos within about three seconds because you don't want people to scroll off your videos right away.
09:03With YouTube shorts, this is crucial. Vidi dot ai already does a really good job at creating something that will reel your viewers in. But if you think that didn't really grab me, you can also customize it.
09:13Next up, something that keeps viewers around longer in my opinion, is the use of captions, which Vidi ai already puts on the video. But a lot of the time when people are watching short videos, they're sitting in public and they don't have earbuds. At least that's for me.
09:27I do this all the time, and I love when videos have captions because then I can watch them everywhere, and it just makes the video so much more accessible. Next up, hashtags and search engine improvement matter so much. Using relevant hashtags and keywords within your title and description will be so helpful because it ensures your video is going out to the correct audience.
09:47Another thing you could be doing is posting at peak hours. Timing matters. A lot of the time it can be different for every creator, so make sure you are testing different posting times and seeing which videos at what times are getting the most views.
10:00Generally, mornings and evenings work best because this is when people are going on their phones maybe before work or after work to relax. Also within your videos, encourage engagement, but do not overdo this.
10:11You don't want to become like hungry being like, you need to comment on my video. You need to subscribe. You could just say something like, comment your favorite animal.
10:20And lastly, post consistently because one short is not gonna change your life. It adds up. I would aim for at least one short a day if you are using a tool like Vidaii where it is just super easy to produce content, or maybe five videos a week.
10:34Now with Vidai handling content creation, another thing you could consider if you get one channel going is creating another channel. This way, you could test different topics to see which topic really takes off and which one isn't taking off.
10:47By automating YouTube shorts production, you free up so much of your time because then you could focus on growing multiple brands. Lastly, I'm just gonna recap the essential steps we went over today.
10:58This will be everything you need to know. Number one is choosing a profitable topic. This topic will balance your passion for the subject and audience demand.
11:06Both are so important. Next, generate engaging video ideas, whether you're using AI or you're researching your topic. Next, you're gonna use AI tools such as Vid AI to completely create your short for you.
11:19Then you're gonna edit for maximum engagement, whether it be changing some parts of the script or maybe changing the intro to be more engaging or maybe adding some suspenseful music if it's a scary story. Then you're gonna improve that video with your title, tags, and description, and post consistently at peak times to boost visibility and retention.
11:39After you post, you're gonna wanna track your performance on YouTube analytics to see what is working and what isn't working. Once you've done all that, it is time to scale your brand and maybe even create a second channel within another topic. At the end of the day, success with YouTube Shorts comes down to a few things, consistency, smart automation, and strategic scaling.
11:59But with tools like Vidai doing all the heavy lifting for you and creating your content for you, you can focus on other things such as actually growing your channel, improving your videos, audience engagement, and increasing your revenue streams. Now if you wanna become a millionaire in 2025, watch this video right here.
The Hook

The bait, then the rug-pull.

One Short. Three thousand dollars. The number sounds like a bad ad, but it is the premise that opens this tutorial -- and the host spends the next twelve minutes building the case that AI has made the math work: RPM is up, production cost is near zero, and the only variable left is whether you pick the right topic.
