Big Idea
The argument in one line.
The edits that win viral editing competitions combine premium design fundamentals with content psychology, and beginners reach that level in months by following a structured program.
Who This Is For
Read if. Skip if.
READ IF YOU ARE…
A beginner video editor who is overwhelmed by scattered YouTube tutorials and wants to see what a top-tier edit is judged on.
An editor trying to land paying clients who wants concrete examples of color, placement and typography decisions that read as premium.
A creator curious how editing competitions are structured, scored and prized, and what the winning entries have in common.
SKIP IF…
You want a tutorial on a specific Premiere Pro or After Effects technique, since the edits are shown briefly and not taught step by step.
You dislike sales pitches, since the course offer is repeated several times across the video.
TL;DR
The full version, fast.
Joseph gave 35 editors 18 raw clips and 72 hours, then ranked every edit in two hours on creativity, animation quality and overall impressiveness, for a $1,500 prize pool. He shows the bottom 30 in under a minute and walks through the top five, praising captions, glow effects, color selection, hooks and sound design while naming specific flaws. Each winner is framed as a beginner who improved fast inside his course, ending with first place Yogesh, who climbed from fourth to third to first across three contests. The video doubles as a pitch for a $299 lifetime course that is closing.

Atomic Insights
Lines worth screenshotting.
Editors in this competition were judged on three criteria only: creativity, animation quality, and how impressive the edit was overall.
A winning edit needs both premium design and engaging editing, since the second-place edit lost despite top-level design.
The color-theory shortcut in the runner-up edit is to pick one vibrant lead color, then derive a darker dull and a lighter dull version as primary and secondary.
Splitting a scene into thirds gives a simple placement system: object left and text right, object top and text bottom, or a diagonal aligned to grid lines.
Premium typography in two steps means pairing two font families, such as sans for primary and script for secondary, then putting the accent color on the secondary font.
A first-second transition from a screen recording into a full-screen animation was praised as an effective hook.
Too many edge elements can crowd a frame, even in an otherwise high-quality edit.
A riser followed by a music drop and a reveal was cited as strong content psychology.
The first-place winner placed fourth, then third, then first across three competitions, showing that repeated entry compounds skill.
The profile advice for editors is a high-quality photo at eye level in window light, a name that hints at editing, and a three-line bio.
Judges noted sound design and music selection as the weak spot even in a fifth-place edit with otherwise high execution.
The channel claims its editors generated $82,000 in nine months, and attributes it to three things: getting good, building a personal brand, and having a community.
Takeaway
What separates a winning edit from a good one
WHAT TO LEARN
The top edits pair deliberate design choices with attention-shaping structure, and the gap between a beginner and a winner closes with structured practice and repeated attempts.
Design quality comes from a few repeatable decisions: a lead color with two dull variants, scenes placed on thirds, and two paired font families.
A hook that moves from a screen recording into a full-screen animation inside the first second keeps viewers watching.
A riser, a music drop and a timed reveal are the content psychology that the judge singled out as expert execution.
Thin captions and cluttered edge elements were the specific flaws called out, so caption weight and restraint matter as much as effects.
Sound design and music selection can hold back an otherwise strong edit, so audio deserves the same review as visuals.
Entering repeatedly pays off: the winner placed fourth, then third, then first, improving with each round.
A premium personal brand starts simple: a clear profile photo, a name that signals editing, and a short three-line bio.
Glossary
Terms worth knowing.
Content psychology
The choices in an edit that shape viewer attention and emotion, such as a hook in the first second, a riser before a drop, and showing the right thing at the right time.
Premium design
A polished look built from deliberate color, placement and typography choices, as opposed to default styles or cluttered layouts.
Tier list
A ranking format that sorts entries into labeled tiers, used here to place all 35 competition edits from 35th down to 6th.
Lead color
The single vibrant color a design is built around, used as the accent while duller variations serve as the primary and secondary colors.
Glow caption
A caption style with a soft light bloom and overlapping text layers that reads as high quality compared with thin, flat captions.

story
I gave 35 professional video editors this piece of raw footage and 72 hours to turn it into the most insane viral edit you've ever seen. And the editors that created the most impressive edit get to take home a $1 ,500 cash prize. After 72 hours, I sat down and I reviewed all 35 of the edits.
And it's safe to say I was mind blown by what these guys created. What on earth is happening? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Oh my goodness. Wow. Look at that.
This was the final $1 ,500 editing competition inside of Ultimate Editors 2 .0. And it was the biggest and the craziest one we've ever hosted.
We had OG editors from the very first community come back to compete. For the first time ever, we allowed AI video editing to enter, and we even gave out a bigger prize than ever before. And in this video, you're going to see what it's like for 35 editors to battle for $1 ,500.
We're going to show you all 35 of the edits that were submitted in this competition, all the way to the first place edit that literally blew my mind. And no, don't worry i'm not gonna make you sit through 35 edits i'm gonna show you the top five best ones but i'm also gonna show you a quick preview of what the other 30 editors created in less than a minute Now, of course, every editor in this video learned viral video editing inside of Ultimate Editors 2 .0, the best place to learn viral video editing step by step.
And it's closing down forever in just a few days. So if you want to learn to edit like these guys, the link is going to be down below. But first, let's take a trip back to Friday, October 30th, where we dropped this post in the community announcing the last editing competition in Ultimate Editors history.
Here's how it worked. First, we give the editors a file with 18 raw videos to choose from. Some of them were from my personal brand and some were from previous editors.
editing competitions that we've hosted on this channel. Then we started a 72 -hour countdown and the editors had one job, create the most stunning edit anyone has ever seen and submit it before the countdown runs out. Once the countdown ended, I had exactly two hours to review every single edit and rank them based off the three things, creativity, animation quality, and how impressive the edit was overall.
And the prizes were bigger than ever. First place takes home $600. Second place takes home $400.
Third place walks away with $300. On top of that, fourth place gets $150 and fifth place gets a small $50 gift. So the countdown began, the editors went to work and three days later, just a few hours before the deadline, we checked the Google Drive folder and there were 35 edits sitting inside ready to be reviewed.
So I put my headphones on, started the two hour timer and went through each and every single one of those edits, placing each editor on a tier list. Now I'm not gonna make you sit through 35 full edits, but I did promise you guys that you'd see every edit that was submitted. So here's the full tier list.
from 35th place all the way to 6th place in less than a minute.
Now that that's out of the way, it's time to look at the top five best edits of this editing competition. Coming in at fifth place was MD Zunayed. Now, Zunayed has a history with these competitions.
He entered two of our older competitions and he lost both of them, but he didn't give up. And this time he came back for revenge. Take a look at the edit that he made.
Oh, wow. $82 ,000. That's how much editors have generated in the last nine months inside of our Ultimate Editors program.
I interviewed the top editors to see how they did it. And this is what they said. First, they got really good.
They learned how to edit. cinematic videos, minimal animations, viral talking head videos, SaaS motion design animations, and every viral style using our step -by -step courses at Ultimate Editors 2 .0. Second, they built a personal brand.
The $2 ,000 a month editor blueprint taught them how to package their work, post it, and close high -paying deals. Third, and most people don't expect this, they had a community behind them. daily encouragement, Q &A call support.
They were never able to quit. That's how editors in here hit $2 ,000, $3 ,000, and even $4 ,000 a month. And here's the thing.
If you want to learn how to edit viral videos and make $2 ,000 a month, you've got 20 days left before the community closes down forever. And you can now buy access to the same courses that allow these editors to succeed for just $299 one time. Comment down the word Ultimate Editors and I'm gonna send it over.
is it oh my god bro talk about a transformation tonight premium captions amazing high quality full screen animations your sounds sound design could have been better your music selection could have been better but man you executed things at a very high level bro oh my goodness talk about talk about a glow up Zunayed got to take home a cute $50 prize.
And it might not seem like much, but for a guy who lost two competitions and still showed up for the third one, this is going to give him a lot of hope. But here's the thing. As good as Zunayed's edit was, it's nowhere near what you're about to see in the first place, which is an edit so clean that I was just mind blown.
And you're going to see this in just a moment. But before we get there, let's take a look at our fourth place winner, Daniel Gaspar, who's taking home $150. Now, Daniel has only been in the community for three months, but he created an edit that didn't just look amazing.
Wow.
Wow.
It's a step -by -step program for beginner editors to master the viral editing styles of 2026, learn AI video editing, and even make $2 ,000 per month as video editors. But how do we do it? First, the Premiere Pro and After Effects Masterclass, step -by -step.
Then you get to learn how viral videos are edited in 2026. The cinematic videos, the minimal premium animations, the SaaS motion design trailers, and the viral talking head videos. Then after all that, we're going to walk you through the $2 ,000 per month editor blueprint, where you master personal branding and outreach, and even land one, two, and even three.
$3 ,000 per month clients. Oh, and are you scared that AI might take over? Well, we dropped the AI editing fundamentals masterclass to teach you how you can edit viral short form videos using AI.
Here's the thing. There's around two weeks left. Then it's going to be closed forever.
So comment down the word ultimate editors and check it out while you still can. Absolutely amazing. Wow.
Daniel, you executed design at the highest level we've seen so far. First up, let's talk about the content psychology. Starts off by showcasing a screen.
Recorded preview of ultimate editors and then instantly transitions within the first second to hook the viewer in into a full screen animation. with a hand grabbing and rough changes. It looks absolutely beautiful.
I'm not a big fan of the edge elements. I think they're just a little bit too much and there's just too much happening. But you're overall very high quality video editor.
Daniel took home $150 for this edit. But what's more impressive is that just three months ago, Daniel didn't know how to make any of this. And now he's creating edits like these.
And if you're a beginner editor watching this, Daniel's story is exactly what happens inside of Ultimate Editors 2 .0. Editors join our community as complete beginners and we take them through our five viral editing style masterclasses, where they learn how to create minimal animations, cinematic edits, sass trailers, viral talking head videos, and viral animation breakdowns all from scratch.
And a few months later, they graduate creating stunning edits like the ones that you're about to see in the rest of the competition. But here's the thing, Ultimate Editors 2 .0 is closing down forever in just a few days. So if you want to learn how to edit viral videos like these in 2026, click the link down below and join Ultimate Editors 2 .0 while you still can.
With that being said, let's get into the big boys the top three. Our third place winner taking home $300 was ISA.
And this was one of the most premium edits I have ever seen in any of these competitions. Take a look for yourself. Getting hired as a video editor in 2026 comes down to three simple steps.
The problem is 90 % of editors give up after the second. Step one is become a viral editor. Business owners don't want to hire average editors anymore.
They want to hire the editor that knows how to turn the raw boring footage into the viral edits that actually perform. That's why it's more important than ever to master the viral editing styles of 2026. Step number two is build your brand.
Russell Brunson said you can't build something amazing and expect people to find it. you need to market your editing skills. To do this, you must build a social media page and post your best work to attract the highest quality clients.
Finally, step number three is treat your clients like kings. The real money is in the clients that never wanna leave. Over -deliver and finish before deadlines.
And go above and beyond to make sure that your clients actually love you. And if you just do these three things, you'll never need to find clients ever again. Oh my goodness.
Talk about execution on content psychology and design at the most perfectly. I'm a huge fan of the yellow color palette. Yellow always looks really beautiful.
Pay attention to how beautiful the captions come in as the beginning of the video starts with a clean, simple zoom out. I love the pop -ups over here, although they could have been a bit smoother. Because you're a little bit rough.
This has got to be one of my favorite edits that I've ever watched. Isa executed premium designs with some of the smoothest animations in the entire competition. And guess what?
He's only been in the community for just three months. Three months and he's creating edits like these. But if a three months editor made it to third place, just imagine what the two guys who've been winning these competitions for the past year came up with.
In second place, taking home $400 was Wabi. Now you guys might find that name familiar. That's because Wabi has won previous editing competitions on this channel.
In fact, Wabi is... editor behind most of the competition videos that you guys have watched on the channel excluding this one you're watching right now because this one's made with ai so the goat of these competitions entered the last one ever and the edit that he made proved exactly why he's the goat take a look if your designs still look like this in 2026 i'm about to make you a master at design in under 60 seconds first learn color theory start by choosing a lead color then extract a darker duller version and a lighter dull version the vibrant color behaves as your accent color and the other two will be your primary and secondary colors second master placement your scene splits into thirds you can use these thirds to create functional designs you could place an object on the left and text on the right or object on top and text at the bottom or even align your scene diagonal and make sure to align your scene using your grid lines so that it doesn't look messy or out of place third perfect typography this one is so underrated there's four types of fonts that you need to know sans scripts serif and the rest go into the other fonts you can start by combining two families as a primary and secondary font like using sans for primary and script for
secondary. Then use an accent color on your secondary font, and there you go. You have premium typography in two steps.
If you want more functional step -by -step courses on design for video editors, comment down ultimate editors, and I'll send you the full plan. I mean, guys, this guy has insider information. This guy understands all the tricks to making good content.
He's practiced it enough. I'm a huge fan of the captions, by the way. This is what the correct execution of that previous font should have looked like.
The high quality glow, the beautiful overlap looks really, really beautiful. And look at the content psychology. He builds up a riser, drops the music, and shows This is where I would have switched up the captions.
I'm not a fan of the thin captions over here. I think this... this video absolutely executed everything perfectly.
Look at those. Wabi executed content, psychology, and design at the highest level I've seen in these competitions. And he took home $400 for it.
But the craziest part is that he still didn't win. Because First Place did one thing that even Wabi's edit didn't do. It combined premium designs with engaging editing.
Now, before we get to the First Place edit, there's one thing to note. Zunaid, Daniel, Aysa, and Wabi, every single editor you just watched learned viral video editing inside of Ultimate Editors. And if you're a beginner, editor watching this, I know exactly where you're at.
You're trying to learn video editing on YouTube and it's overwhelming. One tutorial teaches you one thing and the next one teaches you something completely different. And every month there's a new editing style that everyone's using and you just can't keep up.
That's exactly why we built Ultimate Editors 2 .0 as a step -by -step program. You can start from scratch with the editing programs, then you go through the viral editing styles one by one in order. And we don't just teach you how to edit good videos, we teach you the design fundamentals and the content psychology behind them.
So you actually understand why an edit looks premium instead of just copying what you see on YouTube. And that's why our editors learn so fast.
Isa learned video editing in three months. Daniel mastered video editing in three months. And the editor you're about to see in first place joined our community only six months ago, not even knowing how to open the editing programs.
But Ultimate Editors 2 .0 is closing the doors forever in just a few days. And it's never going to be open to the public again. So if you want to learn how to edit like these guys, click the link down below and join Ultimate Editors 2 .0 before it closes down forever.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment that you've been waiting. The first place winner of the last Ultimate Editor's 2 .0 editing competition taking home $600 is Yogesh. And if you've been watching these competitions, you know this name.
Back in June, Yogesh entered his very first competition after only 60 days in the community. He came in fourth place. And in August, he came back and took third place.
And I literally said in that video that he's one step closer to the big prize. And this time, he came back and took the whole thing. This is the edit that won him first place.
If you still can't land clients from your personal brand, I'm gonna make you a master at personal branding in the next 60... seconds we just hosted the two -hour personal branding masterclass in my community and here's everything we covered number one being amazing still beats every marketing trick the truth is no one is paying you because in a sea of average editors your edits look exactly like everyone else if you can't create stunning edits that capture emotion don't even think about clients yet number two branding fundamentals cheap looking brand equals cheap clients premium brand equals premium clients start with a high quality profile picture phone at eye level natural light from a window and your face in the center then a name that hints you're a video editor if your name is alex use alex .edits alex .mp4 and whatever works and finally a simple three -line bio the first line shows what you do the second tells them why they should work with you and the third tells them to dm you if they want to hire you three most importantly good content is the fuel a premium brand with trash content still gets no clients we analyzed 12 successful personal brands and one simple thing stood out every post showed an edit that looked impressive was packaged in premium colors and followed a trend in the market now i'm kind of running out of time so if you
want the full breakdown on building a premium brand as a video editor comment down the word brand and i'm going to send you the full video oh my goodness wow look at that outro that looks so beautiful man oh my goodness beautiful content psychology you selected the perfect scenes you showcase the right things at the right time look at that transition at the beginning of the video no one else has done that that's super creative Great, beautiful AI design, amazing captions, great full screen animation, super beautiful color selection.
Everything is executed perfectly. All of the content, psychology, all of the colors, all of the design, everything looks awesome. You were the only person who created a very stunning hook with AI that looks super impressive.
This edit was mind blowing. Everything was executed perfectly and Yogesh took home $600 for it. But here's the crazy part.
Six months ago, Yogesh joined our community as a complete beginner who didn't even know how to use editing programs. He went through the Cinematic Editing Masterclass, our Minimal Animations Masterclass, our SAS Trailers Masterclass, our 30 Viral Animation Breakdowns, and our Viral Talking Head Masterclass.
Fourth place, then third place, and now first place. That's what happens when a beginner follows a structured step -by -step program and doesn't quit. Ladies and gentlemen, that was the final $1 ,500 editing competition inside of Ultimate Editors 2 .0.
Thank you guys so much for watching all the way to the end of the video, and to every editor who competed over the last year from the very first competition. to this one, thank you. You guys are the reason this channel exists.
If you wanna learn how to edit like these guys, you only have a few days left. The link is gonna be down below. I'll see you guys in the next video.
Take care.
