Exposing the Funnel That Makes Me $200K a Month at 17

A 17-year-old info-business owner walks through his three-part Profile Funnel: organic reels and a profile that works as a landing page, layered retargeting ads, and a second funnel to get past Instagram's ceiling.

Big Idea

The argument in one line.

A profile funnel only scales past roughly $100K a month when organic content, deep retargeting by stage, and a second funnel run together as one connected ecosystem instead of posting reels and running profile-visit ads.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • A coach or info-business owner doing $10K to $50K a month who sells through Instagram DMs and wants a repeatable way to reach $100K.
  • Someone running profile-visit ads plus organic posting who can't tell why results are unpredictable after people follow.
  • An operator hiring DM setters or closers who wants to know how to make leads warmer before they hit the sales team.
SKIP IF…
  • You sell a low-ticket product with no sales calls, since the whole system is built around booked calls and DM setters.
  • You want an independent comparison, because every funnel here is judged by someone who sells client-acquisition services for the winning one.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

Sigurd Foss, who reports $173K collected by October 22 on $25K of ad spend, argues the best client acquisition system is a Profile Funnel that blends content and paid ads. Organic reels send people to a profile built as a landing page, followers are warmed with objection-based reels and stories, and DM setters close about 38% of deals before the rest go to sales calls. Ads add top-of-funnel reach, retargeting of profile visitors, and call-booker ads that build familiarity. Because Instagram caps scale and attribution at roughly $150K to $200K, he adds a second funnel, a VSL, and compares the whole setup against webinar, VSL, organic and profile-visit funnels.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • Your Instagram profile works as a landing page, so the picture, bio, link, highlights and pinned content should let the right person understand in seconds what you do and whether it's for them.
  • Make middle-of-funnel reels from the objections, doubts and questions that come up on sales calls and in the DMs, not from what you feel like posting.
  • Stories are the biggest point of conversion because followers see you daily, and one story sequence has collected over $50,000 in his business.
  • About 38% of his deals close in DMs and roughly 60% on sales calls, so a setter handles a large share of the pipeline before a call is ever booked.
  • Run a profile-visitor audience from the last 180 days that excludes followers, and show each of 25 videos only once so every impression is a new reason to follow.
  • Showing 10 to 20 ads a day to people who already booked a call builds familiarity bias and lifts show and close rates.
  • When a funnel returns $12 per $1 of ad spend, the move is to raise the spend, which is how he went from $8,200 in ad spend in August to a $250K month.
  • Pure profile funnel tends to cap around $150K to $200K a month because of weak attribution, Instagram restrictions and the strain of multiple DM setters.
  • A second funnel must be chosen by buyer behavior: a webinar fits buyers who need to consume content first, a VSL fits buyers who want to talk to sales fast.
  • Retarget people who don't convert on the second funnel back into the profile funnel so they stay in your ecosystem and can buy months later.
  • Great closers want to work profile-funnel leads because those leads are warm and pre-sold, which makes hiring a strong sales team easier.
  • Claims that pure organic or pure profile funnel reaches multi-six-figure months usually come from hyper-specific offers or audiences built over years.
  • Profile visit ads plus organic, without retargeting depth, leaves you with little control after somebody follows and poor attribution.
  • He reports 68% of his traffic and most qualified followers come from ads, because ads allow targeting by country and forcing the right videos to be seen.
Takeaway

Treat client acquisition as one connected system

WHAT TO LEARN

Predictable scale comes from matching content and ads to each stage of the buyer's journey, then adding a second funnel before one channel becomes the ceiling.

03Stranger to paying client
  • Think of acquisition as everything a stranger must see, hear and feel before paying, then map one asset to each of those gaps.
04Organic top-of-funnel reels and the profile as a landing page
  • Build the profile as a landing page so a visitor can tell within a minute what you do, why to trust you and whether it fits them.
05Middle-of-funnel reels from sales objections
  • Pull your middle-of-funnel content straight from sales-call objections, KPIs and DM questions so content answers the doubts that block sales.
06Stories and YouTube videos
  • Use stories as the daily conversion layer, since followers see them constantly and replies turn straight into DM conversations.
07DMs, setters and YouTube sales assets
  • Let setters handle the DMs and close what they can, and send contextual sales assets so booked calls arrive warmer.
08Part 2: Top-of-funnel ads and profile-visitor retargeting
  • Retarget in layers: profile visitors who did not follow, then people still deciding, then people who booked a call.
  • Limit how often a visitor sees the same ad and rotate through a bank of videos so each impression adds something new.
  • When return on ad spend is strong, raise spend deliberately instead of waiting on more organic posting to grow revenue.
10Part 3: The second funnel
  • Expect a single-channel funnel to hit attribution and platform-risk limits, and add a second funnel matched to how your buyers decide.
  • Pick the second funnel by buyer behavior: webinar for people who need content first, VSL for people who want a quick conversation with sales.
  • Send people who don't convert on one funnel back into the other so they stay in your ecosystem and can buy later.
12Comparison with webinar, VSL, organic and profile-visit ads
  • Judge funnel comparisons by who is making them, since the numbers here come from a seller of the system with self-reported results.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Profile Funnel
A client acquisition setup where reels, ads and stories send people to an Instagram profile, and the sale happens through DMs and booked calls.
VSL funnel
A video sales letter funnel where a cold visitor watches a sales video, opts in or books a call, and speaks to the sales team.
Setter
A team member who chats with leads in the DMs, warms them up, and either closes them or books them into a sales call.
ROAS
Return on ad spend, the revenue earned for every dollar spent on ads. A 12x ROAS means $12 back per $1.
Familiarity bias
The tendency to trust and prefer things you've seen repeatedly, which is why repeated ads to booked leads make them more likely to show up and buy.
Retargeting
Showing ads only to people who already interacted with you, such as profile visitors or people who booked a call.
ICP
Ideal customer profile, the type of person you most want to attract and sell to.

Make $200 ,000 a month from my info business at 17. And I want to show you the exact funnel that I use. First of all, let me go ahead and show you some proofs.
As you can see, this is my WAP dashboard between October 1st to October 22, which is currently on the 22nd of October. And so far, I've done $173 ,000 this month, which means I'm on track for about give or take $250 ,000. I'm going to go ahead and refresh this right now.
As you can see, after refreshing it, it is still at 173. Now I could also go ahead and show you my return on ad spend. So to generate $174 ,000 this month, I've only spent $25 ,000 on ads, meaning for every dollar of put in, at scale, I get about $7 out.
And I've had months where it's been even higher. When I was hitting $150 ,000 a month, I only spent $11 ,000 a month on ads. Now, after working with hundreds of coaching businesses, I know that not only do you want to scale to $100 ,000 a month, you want to do it in a way that's simple, consistent, and gives you the most amount of profit and freedom.
And that is exactly what my profile funnel is about. So here's how it works. The profile funnel is the only way to combine content and paid ads to get the best out of both worlds.
We all know content is the best way to build trust and get warm pre -sold leads. You have no control over how many leads you get. or when they watch content or what content they watch.
And paid ads are the best way to get predictability and scalability, but ad costs for typical direct response are rising and prospects are cold and skeptical. Now, what we found is when we combine the two into one congruent ecosystem, we get the same predictability, but with higher show rates, higher close rates, and on average, between eight to 10 extra return on ad send.
So for the sake of this, I want you to imagine signing clients as a line, where on the left side of this line, we have a complete stranger, and on the right side of this line, we have somebody that is paying you money. The way we want to think about client acquisition is what is everything somebody needs to see, hear, and feel to go from the left side of this line over to the right side of this line.
Now, first of all, I'm gonna show you how we do it with organic. Then I'm gonna show you how we enhance that process with ads, both for more predictability, but also to compress the sales cycle. And lastly, I'm gonna show you how we add another funnel that is congruent with all of this.
It allows for even better scaling, more attribution, and just better results overall. This is what I've done myself, and this is what we do for all of our clients to get these type of results. The first part of it is organically.
The first thing somebody needs to go through is you obviously need to get their attention. Now, the way we do that organically is you have reels that are more top of funnel. These are essentially just organic content you make for a little bit of a broader ICP.
and it allows you to get more attention. And what this does is when you're also able to get attention organically, you don't purely rely on your ads to get new people in. Now these are also gonna have an effect on your current audience, getting them to know, like, and trust you more.
Now from these top of funnel reels, people are gonna land on your profile. And your profile in this funnel will in many cases function as a landing page. So how your profile picture looks, how your bio looks, your brand and domain and pitch that people go to, and where that link in bio leads them, the actual content that you have, the highlights that you have.
are all structured as a landing page for somebody to land on it, be able to go through it for a couple minutes, and have a significantly higher chance of converting. And when this happens, people go from watching your organic content to you getting dozens of qualified followers. So I typically get about 10 to 20 qualified followers a day.
Every single morning when I check, I see people that are extremely qualified that are following me. And these both follow from content and they follow from ads. As you can see, I get about 68 % of my traffic from ads.
I get most of my qualified followers from ads because I have a little bit more option to targeting. But setting up your profile the right way, this is one of the first things we do for clients because it allows your ads and your organic to work better. You want your profile to be structured in a way where your ideal client can land on it and immediately understand what you do, why they should listen to you, and if this is for them.
And when they go through that, when they follow your profile, they're now in your ecosystem. So this is where you will have... more middle of funnel reels.
Now we have a very specific process for making these where we actually make these reels based on objections and questions we're getting in the sales process. So you want to make sure you actually check your KPIs to see where the issues are. You want to review.
reports from the sales team you want to review the actual sales calls you want to review what questions you're getting in the sales process as well speak to your sales team to make content that handles the objections that are coming up the doubts that are coming up the problems that prospects are having the problems your clients are facing you want to address all of these things so you can actually convert your audience with your reels and from there you have your stories which is the biggest point of conversion because this is where people are seeing you every single day and you can post results and influence them as well as your longer form assets that you'll post on youtube videos just like this one that are designed for your audience to watch them and convert and we've had story sequences we've collected over $50 ,000 just from one story sequence because we get so many people that reply to the story They're one of the most powerful tools for conversion when you do them correctly from there.
Everybody lands in your DMS That's where you will have an appointment setter that does the conversation. They do both warm outbound and inbound They have a conversation and they'll either close in the DMS or the book in for a sales call So we close about 38 % of our deals in DMS and we close to other 60 % on sales calls and by the time they're in the DMS They're extremely pre -sold because this process has been done correctly of middle of funnel reels Having sales assets setting up your profile and getting the right people from your content initially.
This is how it's all done organically. And then lastly, after somebody books a call, you'll typically have some YouTube sales assets. And simply what those allow you to do is after somebody's booked a call, you increase their interest level before the call and make the call more pre -sold.
So we literally track which of our sales assets people have the highest conversion from and how much money we're collecting from every single YouTube video that we make to make the right sales assets that convert our audience. And we have our setter send contextual sales assets based on the conversation. So the first form of ads that we run are top of funnel ads.
As you can see, 68 % of our attention comes from ads. And that's where our best... leads come from because we can literally choose what countries they're in, we can call out very specific things and we can force the right videos to get views.
And we can force the videos that are more sophisticated to get views so we get the right people, get people with way more intent because you're literally speaking to their problems. So you get very problem -aware leads and you can ensure that they have money. We run ads with the right messaging that attracts the right people and you actually have full control.
And the great thing about ads is When you, like me, you have a very, very good return on ad spend, you can just crank up the ad spend. If you want to understand why I'm on pace for $250 ,000 this month, you can just look at previous months.
In August, I spent $8 ,200 on ads and I made $108 ,000 directly from those ads, which is a 12x return on ad spend. And when I have a system where I can put a dollar in and get $12 out, then all I do is crank that. So if you see two months ago, we had a 12x return on ad spend.
And now we've just cranked up the spend and we're doing $250 ,000 a month. And that's why we put ads in place for everyone because we don't want to be reliant on organic and purely be reliant. on posting more to make more money.
The second thing is you're gonna capture a pocket audience here of people that see either your reels or your ads. and they visit your profile, but they don't end up following. And this is where ads become even more powerful because we can take advantage of all these little pocket audiences to increase our conversion and make it way more efficient than anything you could ever do with Organic.
So anyone that's visited our profile but didn't follow, we'll literally set up an audience that looks like the profile visitors for the last 180 days, and we exclude the followers. And what that does is we literally put up a content campaign with 25 specific pieces of content that's designed to turn someone from a profile visitor to a follower.
And this campaign is set up in a way where they only see each video once. seen one video then never see that specific video again so if that video doesn't convert them to a follower they'll see another one and another one and another one until they actually get converted and so obviously this gives us so much more return on these ads and so much more return on these reels than if you were to purely do it organically and we have so much more depth to our retargeting than most of the people that are running profile funnel most people that are running profile funnel they're literally just posting organic content and they're running a couple profile visit ads we have so much depth to the ad side of it which gives us way higher returns from there what we'll run is we'll run middle of funnel retargeting so this is where we'll run people that have visited profile but we won't exclude our followers because we want our followers to see this campaign.
And right here, we'll have videos that are a little bit more middle of funnels. We'll typically show testimonials, we'll show client results, and we'll still answer questions and second -line questions and objections that we're getting in the sales process, kind of similar to middle of funnel reels. We're able to force it down.
We're able to force our audience to watch it. We're able to... forcefully handle their objections and not wait for them to consume the right content we can choose exactly what content they see in which phase of the journey if you're doing less than fifty thousand dollars a month you'll just run this to your instagram profile again but if you're doing more than fifty thousand dollars a month we'll typically set up a second funnel so that you get more out of this retargeting campaign and i'll get to that in a second now the last thing that we do is for people that have booked a call, we actually run, we're targeting ads to all the people that have booked a call.
So after somebody's booked a call, they see specific ads that are purely running to people that have booked a call where they're seeing 10 to 20 ads a day. Now what this does is it creates something called familiarity bias. When you see something again and again and again, it conditions you to believe that that thing is safe and it's familiar.
It's the same thing with big brands. The reason they always want to put their brand in front of you is because it makes you more likely to choose them when you see them again because it's more familiar. It's the same thing with music.
When you listen to a song more and more, you start to like it. you like it more because you recognize how that song sounds. And that is exactly what we're doing.
And we're also making these creatives to literally move the sales process forward, to answer questions, to address concerns, to address objections, to address threat expectations, to make them excited for the call. And when we do that, we have higher show rates and we have higher close rates. We ultimately make more money.
We're on our typical normal top of funnel ads like most people do. We also have three different levels of retargeting that enhances this. Now, the absolute last thing that we do is we're on a second funnel.
So I want to give you some context. I hit $130 ,000 a month with Profile Funnel back in January. And I realized that there were a lot of issues.
I had my first $100 ,000 a month with Profile Funnel in November when I was still 16. And I started to realize that there are a few issues with purely running profile funnel. There is a lack of attribution.
The tracking on the profile funnel is not the best. Second thing, it's also very difficult to scale because it's all reliant on Instagram. You can get restrictions.
You have to rely on like a human setter and it gets tricky when you have multiple setters in your DMs. Something can happen to your Instagram. And so it typically caps at like 150, 200K a month.
When you add a second funnel, it allows you to do multiple things. It allows you to, number one, get around that. It also enhances this funnel because the people that are seeing your profile, they're already familiar with you.
they'll also have a second way to convert, whether you actually get their phone number typically and you get in touch with them. You have another way. to convert an audience that might be receptive to a different funnel.
And when you run two at the same time, you get significantly more out of it because you're able to capture both those audiences. And so you're also able to hit this audience that's receptive to a little bit of a different funnel and they work hand in hand. Someone can come through the second funnel and they can watch your Instagram and use that to be more likely to convert from the second funnel.
And somebody who is in your profile funnel can see the second funnel and have that be the trigger that converts them. And so in terms of what the second funnel should be, for us, it's a VSL funnel that we run. However, it can either be a webinar funnel, a quiz funnel, It can be a lead form.
It can be DM ads. It can be a lot of different things. The way you decide this is you're going to have to look at your market.
You're going to have to look at what works best for your sales team. If the people that buy from you typically need to have watched a lot of content before they buy, then a webinar funnel might be better because it forces them to watch a lot of content before the call. Whereas for me, my audience is a little bit of an ego.
They don't want to watch a lot of content. They want to speak directly to the person first. They want to get context first.
They want to speak to the sales team as quick as possible and find out if it's actually for them. They want it to be very direct and they want the messaging to just get straight to the point, which is why we run a simple visa funnel. Now what this does, it gives us an additional opportunity to scale because if you're cracking 100k a month for both of these, you're now cracking 200k a month and they also go hand in hand with each other and increase the conversion of each.
other you get around all the issues with the other one the typical issue with the funnel like this is that trust is lower but trust is now higher because you already have all the sales assets you've already hired a great sales team because great sales teams they want to work on profile funnel because the leads are very warm and pre -sold so you're able to hire top, top sales team.
You have the best sales assets in place. You already have winning messaging. They can go on your profile and they can see that you're very legit.
And so you already have all of this in place. And if they don't convert through this funnel, you can retarget them to the profile funnel and they can stay in your ecosystem and close over time. Now, the issue with profile funnel is, again, attribution and it's scaling.
We completely solved that by having a second funnel. So what we do is we take people to 50 to 100K a month with the profile funnel, then we add a second funnel to be able to cross those 200K months. And this is the process that we've seen work best.
I want you to understand... that are telling you that purely profile funnel or purely organic is the best way to crack multi six -figure months have all either hyper specific offers that's likely very different from yours or they have a massive audience that they've been building for years, and it's always one of the two.
They've been doing this for years, and they have a massive audience and clients to sell to, and they've built a brand and a lot of goodwill over time, or they literally have some extremely hyper -specific offer. And even then, those offers typically cap with purely Profile Funnel. That is why at 20 ,000 followers, at 17 years old, I've been able to crack $250 ,000 this month.
I've already done $200 ,000 a month because I have this system in place. It gives you the best out of both worlds, and it gives you so much more than just having the Profile Funnel. in place and it gives you so much more than just having direct response in place and when you know how to use both and retarget attention from this funnel to this funnel it works as an ecosystem and you're able to convert such a larger section of the market it gives you a massive opportunity over all of your competitors so we'll run the second funnel and we'll have great back -end selling systems in place for that second funnel to make sure that people convert even though it's a little bit lower trust now i'm going to actually compare this for you with other funnels i'm going to compare it with a webinar funnel a visa funnel organic Profile visit ads plus organic, which is what a lot of people call the profile funnel, but it's literally just running mindless profile visit ads, posting content, and trying to sell them in the DMs.
If you're not running any retargeting, you don't have a second funnel running. What I've shown you here is what I think is the true profile funnel, and it's the final version of it, and I'll compare it to that at the end. With a webinar, you pretty much have no control of the buying journey before you get them to register for the webinar.
With a VSL, you have no control before they opt in. With organic, you have no control at all. Profile visit ads, you have some control, but if you're not running retargeting, you don't have these structures in place, you have very little control after somebody follows you.
With a profile funnel, you have full control because you can retarget people at every single stage. In terms of how quick the buying journey is, it's days once they show up for a webinar, but the show up rate is lower. And you're also very rarely capturing people that don't buy on this first call because they don't stay in your ecosystem.
Whereas with the profile funnel, you also have people that stay as followers and they can buy. indefinitely into the future. We have people that have followed us one year ago and they still buy.
We get both the perks of having a short sale cycle and also the advantages of having some people that close over a longer sale cycle. So overall we make more money and we have a higher return on our ad spend. Vsale Funnel is the same thing.
It's typically days, but very few buy if they don't on the first call. They very rarely buy through follow -ups. Whereas with Purple Funnel, somebody stays in your ecosystem for a while, they get to the point where they'll buy a month from now, two months from now, if they don't buy initially.
Organic, it's typically almost at least two weeks, often way longer. with very little way to speed it up. Like you have pretty much zero control except posting more.
And even then, you have little control over what they see. You can't force them to see it. Profile visit ads plus organic is the same pace as organic once they follow.
It's literally just that you're running ads to try and get followers as well. Whereas with the profile funnel that we're running, you can compress it to days via the retargeting that you're running and via the second funnel that you're running. And you run those in combination.
Now, the audience size needed to make this work. For webinar, you typically need either a large audience or a very large ad spend to make it profitable. The VSL funnel.
You're running it to a cold audience, which is great. Organic, you need time to build it. There's no minimum audience for it to work, but it takes a lot of time to build.
And with Provo Visit Ads plus Organic, you can run it with a small audience if you have ads running. It's actually great. On Provo Funnel, same thing here.
You can run it with a small audience. We're literally doing $250 ,000 a month at 20 ,000 followers. Webinar, it is predictable.
Depends on the attendance. There are numbers you can have to make it predictable. VSL Funnels also are predictable.
These two are quite predictable. Organic's not predictable at all. organic businesses you see it all the time where they'll do one massive month they'll flex on their social media and then the next month they're not really sharing their numbers and profit visit ads plus organic you have very little predictability after somebody follows because again you don't control the buying process with pro funnel you have full predictability the row has on a webinar and visa funnel is typically about two to four x organic is obviously no return on ad spend at all because you don't have a predictable way of putting money in Profile visit ads plus organic, it's very hard to attribute.
Again, there's very bad tracking if you're only running profile visit ads. For us, it's typically above 10x. And depending on how far you scale, it might drop down a little bit.
Right now, it's about 7, but it's going to stabilize as sales cycle gets longer. If you go month by month, it typically always equals out to over 10. The cost per qualified call on a webinar is typically between $200 to $400.
On a VESA funnel, typically between $150 to $300. Organic, obviously, again, you have no reliability for this. Profile visit ads plus organic, between $50 to $200.
But again... bad attribution and hard to scale pro funnel you get 50 to 200 dollars as your cost per call but you have great attribution and it's very easy to scale webinar this obviously does not build a long -term brand neither does vsl funnel organic does it but very slowly profit as was organic and pro funnel both allow you to build a long -term brand with a lot of control if you pause it for a month webinar funnel will obviously stall immediately a visa funnel will obviously slow immediately organic will slowly fall off and both of these keep converting of course you're going to slow down if you completely pause this um but they keep converting typically over a longer time span because you're building up an audience of people that are actually high intent now webinars they don't really have a specific growth limit it depends on the attendance rate depends on the quality of people that show up visa funnel the growth limit is obviously the cost of cold traffic ads and organic it purely depends on how much you can post because you obviously have to just do more and more and more work to try and scale it
and then with profile visit ads and organic it's going to be when attribution becomes a bottleneck because it's going to be very difficult to scale further and further because attribution becomes more difficult the more you're spending and then also instagram limits right you can get restrictions can be a lot of pressure on your account when there's you have to eventually scale to multiple dm setters on your account at all times and that way it typically becomes a bottleneck for people and then lastly with this literally the only limit is how many clients you can take on it is extremely scalable because you're relying on both cold traffic and warm traffic and you're combining them together now like i said we've scaled dozens of info businesses past a hundred thousand dollars a month with this process for example eric was scalpels 102k month george passed 100k a month hudson from 12k to 121k andres from 40 to 100 000 a month he actually had 128 000 a month recently daniel cuye from 35k to 100 000 a month in the sales niche logan we took from 0 to 50k in 10 days in the dating niche
Toyon from 0 to 91K in two months in the sales coaching niche as well. Daniel Fortune from 4K to 50K a month in e -comm. Mohamed from 0 to 20K a month in the e -comm niche.
John Gabby helped scale to 100K a month in the mindset coaching niche. Drew went from 20K a month to 116K a month helping e -comm brands. Dylan went from 25K a month to 65K a month helping real estate agents.
Blake went from zero to 40K in eight days with an AI agency biz op. Jonathan went from 22K to 50K helping prop firms. Now, if you have any questions around how this works, what it will look like for your business, feel free to DM me on Instagram and I'll reply.
Or if you just want to go straight on to booking a call, there's going to be a link to do that below if you want to see what it looks like to work with us. The Profile Funnel ecosystem

  1. Top-of-funnel reels and ads
  2. Profile as landing page
  3. Middle-of-funnel reels, stories, YouTube
  4. DM setters and sales calls
  5. Retargeting at every stage
  6. Second funnel

Organic and paid content feed one profile, where objection-based content, setters and retargeting move people from stranger to buyer.
