Big Idea
The argument in one line.
Higgsfield's Katana tool rebuilds any viral video edit shot for shot using your own footage inside Claude, and a custom Claude skill turns the hardest part, picking the edit and writing the story, into a repeatable creative-director workflow.
Who This Is For
Read if. Skip if.
READ IF YOU ARE…
You run a small business that's never edited a video before and just has a few product photos, a logo, or one phone clip.
You're building a personal brand and want to put your own face into a proven, high-performing edit style without learning editing software.
You already use Claude for marketing work and want a repeatable way to turn video presets into on-brand ad variants.
SKIP IF…
You want manual, frame-level control over a traditional video editor. Katana hands most of the creative decisions to Claude.
You don't have a Higgsfield account or a Claude plan with the connector. The whole workflow depends on both.
TL;DR
The full version, fast.
Higgsfield's Katana tool, accessed inside Claude through the Higgsfield MCP, rebuilds any existing video edit shot for shot using your own face, product, or footage. It matches the original's cuts, timing, colors, and titles exactly, and keeps the real editing work (text, flashes, camera moves) as code rather than AI video, only generating the specific shots your footage is missing, so you only spend credits on what's actually new. Because most people connect Katana and then stall on which edit to pick and what to say, the creator built a Claude skill, Katana Director, that interviews you about your business and audience, chooses the edit, writes the story, and hands the finished plan to Katana automatically.

Jad opens by showing his original motion graphics lyric video (160K+ views) next to a Higgsfield Katana remake with the exact same cuts and beat timing, but with himself now in the shot.
00:38 – 02:13
02 · Why this video is sponsored
He explains his no-sponsor-until-now stance, why Higgsfield (a tool he already used for his avatar, sneakers, and clothing brand carousels) earned the spot, and his promise to keep giving the underlying skill away for free.
02:13 – 02:42
03 · What Katana actually is
Katana takes an edit that already works and rebuilds it shot for shot with the user's own face, product, or clips, matching the cuts, motion, color, titles, and audio of the reference.
02:42 – 03:08
04 · How Katana runs inside Claude
Katana runs through the Higgsfield MCP connector, powered by the same engine behind Claude Motion. Users either pick a community preset plus up to 5 photos, or upload their own edit plus up to 40 reference images.
03:08 – 03:53
05 · Why the edits look like real motion graphics
The flashes, titles, color grading, and camera moves are generated as code, with Claude writing it frame by frame, not as AI video. AI generation is reserved only for the shots the user's footage can't cover.
03:53 – 04:05
06 · What a Katana edit costs
Segments built from code or the user's own footage cost zero Higgsfield credits. Only the newly generated AI shots consume credits, so the cost line shows exactly what's being paid for.
04:05 – 04:49
07 · Why the Katana Director skill exists
Most people connect Katana and then stall on which edit to pick, what the video should say, and what the hook is. The Katana Director skill turns Claude into a creative director that handles that planning automatically.
04:49 – 05:26
08 · Recreating an ad for a burger shop
Jad demonstrates the workflow on a real example: an ad for Ember & Bun, a burger spot from an earlier carousel video, rebuilt as a new Katana edit.
05:26 – 06:23
09 · Browsing the community presets
He scrolls the Katana presets library of edits other creators have published, then swaps his own face into one of the popular ones to show the frame-by-frame recreation in action.
06:23 – 07:28
10 · Three ways to build a Katana edit
Katana supports three paths: generate fully static AI images (cheapest), mix static images with short AI video clips, or skip generation and bring an existing video for Claude to edit directly in the motion-graphics style.
07:28 – 08:13
11 · Turning owned footage into a motion-graphics edit
Jad hands Claude a video he already has and asks it to edit the footage together in the motion-graphics style, with no new AI-generated shots required.
08:13 – 09:05
12 · Installing the Katana Director skill
Step by step: download the skill zip from the Skool community post, then in Claude go to Settings, Customize, Skills, Upload a skill to install it.
09:05 – 10:26
13 · Planning a clothing brand ad with the skill
After pasting the skill's starter prompt, Claude interviews him like a creative director: the business, the audience, where it will run, organic or paid, the offer, and the brand name, then generates character and brand style sheets.
10:26 – 13:18
14 · Live demo: building an aura farming edit
Using only a selfie and an unrelated motorcycle photo, with no written prompt, Jad walks through Katana planning the shots, generating them, and assembling the final styled edit in real time.
13:18 – 13:55
15 · Who Katana is actually for
First-time video businesses, a food shop, clinic, or gym, need only a few photos or a phone clip. Brands can test three hooks on one edit, and marketers can run a V1-to-V4 batch and keep the winner.
13:55 – 14:44
16 · Closing pitch and skill drop
Jad closes by pointing viewers to the Higgsfield link and his Skool community for the free Katana Director skill, and commits to a new Claude skill every week.
Atomic Insights
Lines worth screenshotting.
Katana rebuilds an existing edit shot for shot, matching its cuts, timing, colors, titles, and audio rather than generating a new video from scratch.
Segments built from code or the user's own footage cost zero Higgsfield credits; only the AI-generated shots consume credits.
An 8-shot AI ad cost 420 credits while an 11-second noir edit with just 2 AI clips cost 232 credits, showing cost tracks missing footage, not edit length.
The flashes, text, color grading, and camera moves in a Katana edit are generated as code, not as AI video.
AI generation is reserved only for the exact shots your own footage can't cover, like placing yourself into a scene you never filmed.
A Claude skill is a saved playbook: once installed, Claude follows it automatically every time a matching task comes up, with no re-prompting needed.
The Katana Director skill exists because most users stall at the planning stage: which edit to pick, what to say, and what the hook should be.
Katana supports three build paths: static AI images only, a mix of images and short AI clips, or a fully owned video edited in the motion-graphics style with zero new generation.
Three reference shots plus one close-up is enough to keep a generated character or avatar visually consistent; more images just add clutter.
A single past marketing asset, like a product photo carousel, can be fed back into Katana as the reference for an entirely new ad.
Katana can produce a coherent styled edit from just two images and zero written prompt, planning the shots itself from the reference edit.
Businesses that have never edited a video only need a few photos, a logo, or one phone clip to generate their first Katana ad.
Brands can generate one campaign with three different hooks on the same edit to test which message performs before spending on media.
Marketers can run a V1-to-V4 batch of ad variants through Katana and keep whichever version wins.
Takeaway
A skill that makes Katana direct itself
AI EDITING WORKFLOW
Katana rebuilds any edit shot for shot from your own footage, keeps real production work in code instead of AI generation, and a saved Claude skill turns the planning into a repeatable creative-director workflow.
03What Katana actually is
Katana takes an edit that already works and rebuilds it shot for shot using your own face, product, or clips.
It matches the cuts, the motion, the color, the titles, and the audio of the reference edit, not just the visuals.
04How Katana runs inside Claude
Katana runs through the Higgsfield MCP connector inside Claude, powered by the same engine behind Claude Motion.
You either pick a community preset and add up to 5 photos, or upload your own edit plus up to 40 images of your characters, products, or clothes.
05Why the edits look like real motion graphics
The flashes, text, color grading, and camera moves are generated as code, with Claude writing it frame by frame, not as AI video.
AI generation is reserved only for the shots missing from your own footage; if the original shot already works, Katana keeps it instead of regenerating it.
06What a Katana edit costs
Segments built from code or your own footage cost zero credits; only the newly generated AI shots consume credits.
An 8-shot AI ad cost 420 credits and an 11-second noir edit with 2 AI clips cost 232 credits, so cost scales with how much footage is missing, not the edit's length.
07Why the Katana Director skill exists
Most people connect Katana and then stall on which edit to pick, what the video should say, and what the hook is.
The skill turns Claude into a creative director: once installed it asks about the business, picks the edit, writes the story, and hands it to Katana automatically every time.
08Recreating an ad for a burger shop
Even a single past asset, like a product carousel, can be fed back in as the reference for a brand-new ad.
The workflow works for small local businesses, like a burger spot, just as well as for personal-brand content.
09Browsing the community presets
The Katana presets library shows edits other creators already built, so you can start from a proven reference instead of a blank page.
Swapping a face into an existing popular edit reproduces the frame-by-frame motion automatically.
10Three ways to build a Katana edit
Option 1 (static AI images) is cheapest in credits; option 2 mixes images with short AI clips to balance cost and motion.
Option 3 skips AI generation entirely: bring a video you already own and ask Claude to apply the motion-graphics edit treatment directly to it.
11Turning owned footage into a motion-graphics edit
You can hand Claude a video you already own and ask it to edit it in the motion-graphics style instead of starting from Higgsfield-generated shots.
This path exists specifically so you don't waste credits regenerating footage you already have.
12Installing the Katana Director skill
Installing a skill is a one-time setup: download the zip, then in Claude go to Settings, Customize, Skills, Upload a skill.
After installing, you start a new chat, type the skill's slash command, and paste the starter prompt to activate it.
13Planning a clothing brand ad with the skill
The skill interviews you like a creative director: the business, the customer, where it will run, organic or paid, and the offer.
It generates character and brand style sheets so a recurring avatar stays visually consistent; three shots plus one close-up is enough reference, more just adds clutter.
14Live demo: building an aura farming edit
Katana can take just two images, a selfie and an unrelated prop photo, with zero written prompt, and still assemble a coherent styled edit.
The generation process is visible step by step: it references the source edit's frames, applies them to the new subject, and checks the final cut before delivering it.
15Who Katana is actually for
Businesses that have never edited a video, like a food shop, clinic, or gym, only need a few photos, a logo, or one phone clip to start.
Brands can test messaging with three different hooks on the same edit, and marketers can run a V1-to-V4 batch and keep the winner.

this is motion graphics on the left that's the lyric music video from my motion graphics video the one that did over 160 000 views and on the right katana rebuilt it shot for shot same cuts same timing same words every hit on the same beat but now i'm in it and today you're going to learn how to make this And on the right was done by AI.
My Claude was the director. I read my edits. I planned every single cut.
And the Katana Hicksfield, new editor, built it basically. Wait, that's to give you one more minute. I'm almost done.
I'm sorry, Des.
All right. For a long time, I kept telling you I'm not sponsored. Nobody paid me for any of these videos.
Because honestly, your support. and how well these videos have been doing companies are actually reaching out to me and that means i can make even more videos because i have more time to make the best content i can i have said no to some of them because they weren't the right fit but this video is sponsored by hicksfield and that's a company i was already using anyway my avatar the 3d sneakers my clothing the brand carousels that was all hicksfield and they decided to support this video so shout out to that and more importantly with their support i can keep giving my skills away i don't want to put any of them behind the paywall i want you to have as much access to this stuff as possible and that's what they're allowing me to do they also have an offer that is in the link in the description and nothing changes i'm still going to show you every credit and how much call out usage it took so thank you so much for your support and if you want to try the katana
it would mean the world to me my link is in the description because it tells them that you're enjoying what i make and that it's useful and that's what lets me keep working with that and as you know i'm not keeping any of this the skill is in my school community the link is in description too and i see all of you posting in school when you use my skill i appreciate you guys a lot so try to use the link of hicksfield and the skill that i made with it on school The only thing I'm asking, stay all the way to the end of this video first, because you need to understand how the system works.
All right, without further ado, let's get started. So what is even Katana? Basically, you give it an edit that already works and it rebuilds it shot for shot with your own face, your product, or your clips.
It matches the cuts, the motion, the color, the titles, and the audio. On their page, it literally says recreate the edits and make it yours. So if you see something that you really like online, you could recreate that edit in Higgs field.
And the best part, it runs on MCP. So it runs through the Higgs field MCP. It even says powered by cloud motion that just got released recently.
And there are two ways to start. You pick a community presets, add up to five photos and recreate it. Or you upload your own edits, add up to 40 images of your characters, your products, your clothes, and Katana rebuilds it around them.
I'm going to show you both. Okay, now this part that I'm most excited about because this channel is basically motion graphics at this point because of the videos that I've made. If you watch my motion graphics videos, you know the rules.
Nothing moves at the same speed from the start to finish. When something lands, it has weight and every hit lands on the beat and it looked really solid. And that's the reason why they look really good.
Every single cut takes the best route to match the references. If the original shot already works, it keeps it. The flashes, the text, the colors, the camera moves, that's code.
Cloud writing code, frame by frame, that's motion graphics. It uses your footage and only when something is missing, like me as a swordsman, does it generate a new shot. So the motion is code and the AI only draws the hero.
And you can see it in the cost line. The part made with code or your own footage costs zero credits. The new shots are where the credits go.
So you always know exactly what you're paying for. Okay, so that's Katana. But where people get really lost.
You connect it, you open a new chat, and then what? If you have a business, which edit are you supposed to pick? What should the video even say?
What's the hook? Most people have no idea. And a lot of people also don't have a lot of time for this.
So what I did, I built a skill for it. And if you're new here. A skill is a set of instructions you add to Claude that teaches it how to do a specific job.
Once it's installed, Claude follows the playbook every single time that job comes up. So you don't need to have to prompt it again. The skill already knows it.
It knows what it's supposed to do. This one turns Claude into a creative director for Katana. so one of you asked me for a food shop so i brought back ember and bun the burger spot from my carousel video and this time i gave it an ad And one honest thing, Katana runs aren't instant.
It's planning, generating, editing, checking. If you're on a smaller cloud plan, start with a short video. I ran all of this on Opus 5 .5 on the Max.
Now, as you can see here, this is the Katana page. And these are the edits that a lot of people did in the past. So what you can do, let's just scroll real quick through them.
This is the one that you've probably seen already. And I just swapped my face into it. And it literally did the frame by frame.
It did it in an amazing way.
So for example, in here, this is motion graphics. What Higgs field is able to do is only generate videos. But now they added a motion graphics effect.
That is really cool. So like you see here, the video, how it looks like. I go in my videos.
and you can see it created frame by frame there's no edit nothing no sound no music nothing right pretty boring i would say but then it took the montage it took the edits and it did it super nice and neat now you can take one of these that you really like or what you can do also that is really cool is you can take a motion transfer so if you have the subscription in xfield you have basically three options the first option is generate images static images and then just like create that motion graphic effect like this one that is only static images and it costed around 10 to 8 credits i believe and the motion graphics fully just hicks field did all of that or just images so that's 10 seconds i only used 10 let's say just 10 credits that's pretty solid too so that's the first option that you have either credits images static images or you can have a mix of both that's the second option videos and static images to save on tokens but if we do it right and that's the reason why i made the skill so we don't waste that many tokens and the third option is basically you have a video that you really like and you just want the motion graphics you can bring your video and just say to your cloud i need you to edit this video for me so here is the video it did not look like this at all let's just put it full screen right now
that's full motion graphics it took those videos and just edited all together which is really cool now all you have to do is in the link in the description you go and install the zip once installed you also open this it will open a google doc you copy it command a copy you go in your cloud you open this you go in settings once you go in settings go all the way to the bottom where you see customize go to skills and then click on upload a skill so all you have to do is install this download there it is it's installed i'll drop it here that's perfect we can upload there we go So we go back now to our chats.
We click on try and chat right here from video. We'll do a slash Katana direct director. We leave it and we paste what we copied here.
Once it's pasted, just click enter and we wait now. Now it's going to make our life really easy. Hicksfield is connected and your plus plan has 2000 credits.
So what's the business and who are your customers? Let's just say e -commerce clothing. and where will this run i'll just say it can pay that pain ad let's just do the frame 69 because that's what i want but if you're gonna do a paid ad it would most likely be 9 to 16.
dbrand let's just call it next phase what is the offer let's just say new launch no no logo for me So what it's going to do is it's going to ask a few questions about the clothing if you have prototypes. So it can either generate them in Higgs field or just use them and generate a video or an image with the avatars.
Also, it's really good at generating avatars because in this skill, it's going to create a story, especially for the ad campaign or the organic. It goes and generates the characters, the style sheets, and what it's about. So for example, here, this is a style sheet that it did.
And the reason why I recommend to have this type of style sheets for a character in Avatar, it's not a good idea to have multiple shots. Three shots would be definitely more than enough. And a close -up, of course.
Same thing here. And here we have the brand. Pretty straightforward.
So what if you don't want to go by my skill? We simply just do slash katana. You click enter.
And you will have inside your cloud everything that they have in Higgs field. so let's say i do want to change a little bit in here some things so let's let's generate something all together let's take this one and let's take an image of myself and the avatar that we have all right now it's done i think it would be nice to have maybe a bike so let's go and google just the bike like this and take an image that looks like something really cool all right let's just take this one and then open image in the new tab And then save image.
Saved. We're going to go back to Higgs field. Now go back to our chats.
There it is. Upload media. Here.
And I think we can just drag it. What I'm going to do. This is the annoying part about MacBook.
And then we click on generate. That's it. That's all we have to do.
It's Katana. Dark aura. And basically just aura forming.
One thing here that is really cool is we can see the progress. And what's going on. So we see here it's using the frames.
The edits and everything are powerful. This is super important. So these are our references.
These are the edits that they're going to be doing. And the avatars. I gave it no prompts whatsoever.
Nothing. I just gave it the images. Three images and that's it.
So right now what we can see is just the videos that it has made so far. Let's look at the first one. Holy, that looks really like me.
It's so strange looking at this. Okay, it took also the motorcycle. There's no sounds and anything.
It will take that all together. that's so crazy it's doing this so well wow i wonder how it's gonna look like the final result oh boy that's me okay that's interesting all right it got the frame it got the motorcycle how it's gonna look like all right let's just wait and see the final result amazing we just got the final results so let's watch it this is the first time sorry let me replay it That's crazy.
I didn't give it no prompt, nothing. Just changing the characters in there. So the good thing about this is that Hicksfield has a lot of people that uses their platform, which means a lot of people are going to have resources in there too.
If we go back to the Katana thing, we can see that people have already shared some things in here like this one.
Yeah, right here.
This you can fully change it, or you can have your own SAS and change everything about it. So really, who is this for? If you have a business and you've never edited a video in your life, a food shop, a clinic, a gym, you have some photos or logos, maybe a clip on your phone.
That's enough. If you have a brand, you can ask for a full campaign, same video, three different hooks. So you can test which message actually works.
If you're building a personal brand like me, put yourself in an aura forming edits, make yourself in a swordsman, show up in every video. And if you don't marketing, you could do this as organic content, or you could do it as paid ads. Then you run a V1 to V4 and keep the winner.
Katana is really new. It just came out. And what I like is that nothing is kind of like hidden.
You can add skills in it and it doesn't use your chip on your computer. So try to find an editor that you love and open cloud. It'll make yours.
The link is in description and the skill is in my school. If you make something with it posted in school, I would love to see it. I see all your posts already.
I really want to see them. And if you struggle a little bit of knowing what you want to do, just comment down below. I have a lot of credits to use.
I'll definitely try and make it happen and make a video about it. Cause you guys have a lot of great ideas that I take from. If you stayed all the way to the end of the video, thank you so much.
Seriously, you guys motivate me to make more videos and keep giving skills away weekly. And if you didn't click on subscribe button, please do. And I'll see you on the next one.
