Big Idea

The argument in one line.

A founder with real results stays invisible until one clear offer, an exit-led profile and content built from buyers' beliefs and fears turn trust into booked calls, and only then do ads pay.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • A coach or consultant selling the same expertise at wildly different prices who can't decide who their content is for.
  • An operator with real exits or results who suspects their social profile undersells them.
  • Someone running a landing page or VSL funnel with a low call show rate who wants to try a DM-first flow.
  • A high-ticket seller who wants a simple framework for turning sales-call objections into a content calendar.
  • Anyone about to put money into Meta ads for a personal brand and wanting a basic testing structure first.
SKIP IF…
  • You want a deep ecommerce or TikTok Shop playbook; the product side is only background here.
  • You need advanced Meta ads tactics; the ad section is an introductory testing structure.
  • You're wary of software pitches; the session includes a soft pitch for the host's paid follow-and-like growth tool.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

A founder with four ecommerce brand exits and a roughly $10 million agency sale is barely known on social media because his offers range from $2,000 to $40,000 and his content speaks to everyone. The fix starts with two fixed-price offers, a scaling program around $25,000 to $30,000 and a beginner program at one higher price, so buyers have skin in the game. The profile leads with specific exit numbers, states who it's for, and swaps the landing-page link for a DM keyword. Every post maps to a grid of who the buyer is, what they wrongly believe, and what they fear. Growth comes from 10 to 15 Trial Reels a day, and ads only start once the profile converts, tested audiences first, then creatives.

Chapters

Where the time goes.

00:00 – 02:50

01 · The guest and his exits

The session agenda, then the guest's background: 15 years in ecommerce, four brands sold to Thrasio for a low seven figures, an agency sold for around $10 million, and an audience that mostly doesn't know it.

02:50 – 08:15

02 · Six prices, no position

He sells strategy at $25K-$40K and group coaching at $2K-$7K. The host draws the scatter of price points and collapses it into a scaling bucket and a beginner bucket.

08:15 – 11:04

03 · The easy buyer vs the hard buyer

High-ticket buyers close after one call and wire the money; low-ticket buyers need proof, stall, and pull him into unpaid one-on-one calls.

11:04 – 15:15

04 · Skin in the game, and selling the exit

Raise and fix the coaching price so people commit, stop free handholding, and position around the exit and the long horizon rather than fast money.

15:15 – 21:30

05 · Rewriting the bio and the CTA

The Instagram bio gets specific exit numbers, a short who-it's-for line, and a DM keyword CTA in place of the landing page link. Discussion of VSL drop-off and call show rates.

21:30 – 23:35

06 · Who, Believe, Fear

The three-column grid every piece of content should follow, and the idea that sales-call objections are content ideas worth mining with AI.

23:35 – 29:20

07 · Filling in the grid

Who: has capital, believes ecom is real, not a side hustle. Beliefs: product is the hard part, the store is the hard part, inventory needs a big check. Fears: losing money and fake gurus.

29:20 – 33:00

08 · The five-part engine

Growth, discovery, profile, nurture, conversation. Only conversations work today; the rest needs controlled growth, Trial Reels volume and an optimized profile.

33:00 – 35:57

09 · Volume and ads that leak

The 30-minute alarm method for 15 reels a day, a soft pitch for the host's growth software, and why ads to an unfinished profile only reach about 2x ROAS.

35:57 – 41:38

10 · How to structure ad testing

Leverage upcoming client launches as content, then an ABO structure: broad and interest ad sets with identical ads, then five creatives per winning set, capped at $500 a day.

41:38 – 44:43

11 · Organic ceiling and the 500-buyer math

Organic tops out around $100K-$200K a month; million-dollar months need ads. At $25K a client, 500 buyers is enough. Wrap and DM CTA.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • Selling one skill at six different prices makes your content incoherent, because every price implies a different buyer.
  • A $2,000 client often gets worse results than a $25,000 client because losing $2,000 doesn't hurt enough to force follow-through.
  • Revenue screenshots are everywhere; an actual company exit is rare enough to be the whole positioning.
  • Sending Instagram traffic to a landing page loses leads who wander off; a DM keyword keeps an open thread they come back to.
  • If a booked call is more than three days out, a night of sleep or one skeptical friend can erase the sale.
  • Every objection on a sales call, whether you close or not, is a content idea someone else in your audience is also thinking.
  • Buyers want to hear your worst moments, because surviving them is the proof that you can walk them through theirs.
  • Inventory doesn't require a big upfront check if you test small, negotiate supplier terms and pay in tranches.
  • Post 15 videos a day by setting a 30-minute alarm and giving yourself 30 seconds to record each time it goes off.
  • A profile funnel can return 7x to 10x on ad spend, but only after the bio, highlights and pinned video already convert.
  • Test audiences with identical ads before you test creatives, or you won't know which variable caused the result.
  • One winning ad creative ran at about $10,000 a day and produced over $1 million on its own.
  • At $25,000 per client, 500 buyers is an eight-figure business, so you need the right 500 people, not 100,000 followers.
  • Unedited, unscripted talking videos often outperform polished ads because they feel like a conversation.
Takeaway

Clear offer and real proof before more traffic

WHAT TO LEARN

Real results don't sell themselves; one fixed offer, a profile that leads with proof, and content built on buyers' beliefs and fears have to come before growth tools or ad spend.

02Six prices, no position
  • Selling the same expertise at $2,000, $7,000, $25,000 and $40,000 makes every piece of content speak to a different buyer, so none of it lands.
  • Collapse a sprawling price list into two offers: a fixed-price program for people already selling and a fixed-price program for beginners with a budget.
  • Decide what share of your content serves each offer, for example 80% toward the scaling offer, instead of switching audiences day to day.
03The easy buyer vs the hard buyer
  • Buyers who already run a business or hold senior jobs close after one long call and wire $25,000; first-timers at $2,000 need constant proof and handholding.
  • Cheap clients tend to get worse results, not because they work less at first, but because they stall on decisions once early wins don't arrive.
04Skin in the game, and selling the exit
  • A $2,000 program creates too little financial pressure to make people finish; the same program at $7,000 makes them show up.
  • Giving one-on-one calls to a $2,000 client is unfair to the people paying $40,000 and still doesn't fix the low-commitment problem.
  • A founder who has actually sold a company should lead with the exit, because revenue screenshots are common and real exits are rare.
05Rewriting the bio and the CTA
  • A bio needs three parts: specific credibility with numbers, who it's for in a few words, and one direction to go next.
  • Cut credentials that don't serve the offer; an agency sale matters less than brand exits when you sell brand building.
  • Replace the link-to-landing-page CTA with a DM keyword so a lead who leaves the app still has an open conversation to come back to.
  • Book calls the same day or within three days; past that, a night of sleep or a skeptical friend kills the show rate.
06Who, Believe, Fear
  • Before making content, write down who you sell to, what they wrongly believe about the market, and what they fear most.
  • Every question and objection from a sales call, closed or not, is a ready-made content idea; feed call recordings to an AI model to mine them.
  • Talk about your own fears and worst moments openly, because buyers want proof that you survived the thing they're scared of.
07Filling in the grid
  • The ideal buyer has capital, already believes the business model is real, and treats it as an asset rather than a side hustle.
  • Common false beliefs make good content: product choice is not the hard part, the store is easy, and inventory can be bought in tranches as sales grow.
  • The deepest fears are losing money and trusting a fake guru, and both are answered by showing real exits and client results.
08The five-part engine
  • The system runs growth, discovery, profile, nurture, conversation; if only the conversation stage works, sales stay capped by how many people find you.
  • Controlled growth means a repeatable source of new niche followers, whether from a consistent content plan or follow-and-like outreach tools.
  • Instagram Trial Reels let you test 10 to 15 short videos a day on non-followers without crowding your main feed.
09Volume and ads that leak
  • To post 15 times a day without scripting, set a 30-minute timer and record one 30-second take on a result, offer or lesson each time it rings.
  • Fifteen okay videos beat zero perfect ones when you're starting; overthinking is the real bottleneck.
  • Ads sent to an unoptimized profile waste budget; the profile, highlights and pinned video must convert before spend can scale.
10How to structure ad testing
  • Test audiences first with identical ads in every ad set: broad sets split by country, language and age, plus interest sets around the market.
  • Once audiences are proven, test about five creatives per ad set and iterate on the top three for cheaper cost per follow or booked call.
  • Cap testing at $500 a day; a single winning creative can carry seven figures, but finding it can take five to seven rounds.
  • Raw, unedited, unscripted videos often beat polished ads because they feel close to the viewer.
11Organic ceiling and the 500-buyer math
  • Organic can reach roughly $100,000 to $200,000 a month, but every million-a-month operator in the speaker's circle used paid ads.
  • At $25,000 per client, 500 buyers is an eight-figure business, so the goal is reaching the right few people, not 100,000 followers.
  • Pick a position and keep it; changing the message every week resets the trust you've been building.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Aggregator
A company that buys many small ecommerce brands, often Amazon sellers, and runs them under one roof. Selling to one is a common exit path for brand founders.
Trial Reels
An Instagram feature that shows a reel to non-followers first without placing it on your main grid, letting you test many videos without cluttering your profile.
Profile funnel
An ad strategy that sends paid traffic to an Instagram profile rather than a landing page, relying on the bio, highlights and pinned posts to turn visitors into followers or DMs.
VSL
Video sales letter. A long pitch video on a landing page, usually followed by a form to book a sales call.
ABO campaign
Ad set budget optimization in Meta Ads, where each ad set gets its own fixed budget, making it easier to compare audiences fairly during testing.
Lookalike audience
A Meta Ads audience built from people who resemble an existing list of customers. It needs enough past buyers to work well.
ROAS
Return on ad spend. Revenue divided by ad cost; a ROAS of 2 means every dollar spent brought back two.
Show rate
The share of booked sales calls where the prospect actually attends.

metaphorstory
what's up guys welcome back to another video i'm here with adam willis today and we're going to be building out his complete organic and paid marketing strategy for instagram in the next 60 minutes we're gonna go over his offer his ideal client profile our growth software the organic marketing strategy cleaning up his profile and how to utilize the profile funnel ad strategy in order for him to generate more leads and more sales for his offer so without further ado let's get into the video adam if you want to give an introduction now is the time man okay thanks my name is adam adam willis i have been in the e -commerce space for going on 15 years now i got started in the early amazon fba days built and sold four brands over the years i had what i understand to be the largest amazon agency in the world at its time that i also sold and now i'm helping other people build brands right build real brands that they can grow and hopefully sell to have the kind of exits that I had.
And what were those exit kind of like? So I had, like I said, I had four brands that I built up over the years and I exited those brands to an aggregator, Thrasio, for a low seven figure sum. And then I had an agency.
that I sold for around 10 million. I mean, the numbers are definitely crazy, but that also brings us to the next question, right? Because now you trying to help people build and scale and exit their brands.
How many of these people actually know your exits and what you've done and what you have accomplished as an entrepreneur? think that's part of the problem is i don't think many people know that honestly yeah and then when it comes to like personal branding right now because today we're going to fix every single problem basically that you have with your positioning and your brand like how many people do you think actually know that and what do you lead with when it comes to your videos right yeah so i mean i've experimented with a lot of different things and i think that's maybe part of the problem is i really haven't had a legitimate strategy and i would say that you know a lot of what i've talked about maybe is geared more towards like a beginner and because of that i tend to use a lot of that language as opposed to like the more aspirational stuff and actually talking about you know what it takes to build a brand to scale a brand process of actually selling a company which you know i think is a whole thing in and of itself i mean so i would say most people
unless they've really been consuming my content don't know the full story of all of this but i think that's one of the biggest problems today as well that we are at first of all going to get clear on because we need to know exactly okay what is your story and why are we not talking about this almost every single day the results that you've got in the brands that you've sold the agency that you exited and the more we can share this the more of the right quality people that we will attract so today we're going to fix this right and in order for us to be fixing this today walk me kind of through what kind of offers that you've been selling because i can hear there's a bit of unclarity about who you sell to what you sell the kind of people that you're attracting so yeah talk to me about that sure i've gone through this whole like experimentation of selling different things to different people and i think that maybe that might be part of the problem but to kind of explain what i sell you know primarily what i'm teaching people how to do is launch a single product e -commerce brand using tick tock shop and amazon and
now using a lot of AI to do that. In a simple way, TikTok has created this incredible opportunity where you can get a lot of virality and use the affiliates to launch products without like a lot of ad spend. And not only that, when things go really well on TikTok, you get this kind of spillover that happens on Amazon.
So if you know how to combine those two and launch a product that way, you can really build a really great brand quickly and you don't need to do all the drop shipping stuff and, you know, spend a bunch of money testing a million. different products at its core that's what i'm showing people how to do and as far as the offer goes i have sold people at every level like i get a number of people that have come into you know my my world that are people that have a product they already want to launch you know they have a vision for for like how they're going to execute it they've maybe never sold anything online before but they know what they want to do and for some of these people when they're established professionals with money you know i'm able to command a high price for those offers.
So, you know, I have people that have paid me $25 ,000 all the way up to $40 ,000 basically just for strategy. And then also some of the execution because I had this big agency and, you know, the team has kind of been able to like help with them to launch their products and stuff. At the same time, I've also had a lot of people come into, you know, my funnel or whatever that, you know, don't have a lot of money.
And so I've sold them on like a group coaching package where I help them together as a group and give them, you know, course. modules, recorded content, that kind of stuff, anywhere from 2000 all the way up to around 7K. I would say most of those people pay about $7 ,000 for that.
So it's a big range. and it's also a big problem a big problem it's a big problem and it's all different kind of people too you know so it's made it really difficult for me to kind of like have a really cohesive strategy and and help the right people in the right kind of way yeah because if we draw this out right now right what has happened over the last i mean couple of months is you have had people you could sell for like 20k and someone gonna maybe like 2500 then we would have someone maybe at 7k then someone at like 2k even and then someone at 40k right yep but this also means that when you are doing your marketing strategies and you sell all these different price points it's super unclear for you what kind of content to create because one day you're thinking oh i want to do the group coaching right where i have many people that i'm helping and then i sell them simply for 2500 a month or 2500 just flat fee and then the next day you wake up and you think like oh let me just sell to only like two groups of people that i can sell for 25k or 40k even right but if
you keep doing this basically your brain is gonna look like this i don't know what i do right now and then your whole positioning and your whole brand is gonna look like this as well because one day you get someone for 2500 to your page and then the next day you're getting someone for 25k we need to simplify this and we need to simplify the offer in my opinion into two buckets right we have the beginner bucket and then we have basically the scaling bucket is how i would call the scaling bucket is for people that are already in the ecom space they have a brand they're getting a few sales in but they They don't really know how to accelerate that growth.
And then the beginner bucket is simple. People who want to start, they have a budget, maybe they are working a nine to five or they're in real estate and they want to start something new. With these two buckets, we cannot have six different pricing.
We need one fixed pricing for the scaling offer and super clear on what it is that you do and what it is that you help them with and one pricing for the beginning of. Then within the content, depending on how much you want to lean on each offer, you can decide, for example, 80 % I'm going to focus on actually scaling people.
but it's going to be harder to find these people because how many people can you call right now and say, hey, I got this offer and they will pay you 40 grand? Not a lot of people. Then the beginning offer is easier to sell because there's more people with the budget, but then it might not be the best thing to fulfill.
And also there's a few unserious people that might come through your pipeline, which you also mentioned you have issues with because they don't really take it serious, right? So within the whole content strategy and the positioning, which is also something we got to fix, is, okay, how can we position yourself as the... to guy when it comes to scaling and exiting because that's also where probably most of the margin is and how can we also have a downsell offer for people that are like hey i want to scale i want to exit but i have nothing going on i do want to learn from adam and this needs to be easy to fulfill for these people like you cannot be giving these people your one -on -one time or like doing the delivery for them or doing the fulfillment for them this is just like hey i can teach you how to do it you need to implement it yourself if you have things running then you can upsell them to the high ticket offer where you help them scale and exit
And with the previous drawing, you had so many different price points that you can feel this in the content too. One day you're talking to maybe a broke person. The other day you're talking to someone that has a lot of money in the banks.
So we need to simplify it down to these two offers and come clear on the pricing, right? And right now, like based on the previous clients that you've had, what is the best price that you have sold the scaling offer for essentially? and also the coaching offer.
That sounds, yeah, that all makes sense, by the way. Okay, so the scaling offer is on average anywhere from $25 ,000 to $30 ,000. So it would be around that price point.
Personally, I think actually, you know, it could probably charge more for it, but you'd want to have some, probably some reps in with those people and maybe talk about increasing the price. As far as the beginner bucket, you know, I would say... We've sold those at mostly around 7K.
We've had a couple of people that, you know, really wanted to get started and we've given them a lower price or done stuff around like reduced time involvement and sold it at less than that. But it's usually like anywhere from five to 7K. And I would say that, you know, the interesting thing, and you probably maybe experienced this too, is this group of people is so much easier to deal with.
Yeah. Okay. Like for the most part, not all of them, but almost every time.
I get on a call with them. I will talk to them for maybe an hour and an hour and a half. They always say the same thing, which is, I trust you.
You know what you're talking about. I can tell you have experience. You're the person that can help me.
Where do I wire the money? Exactly. And then they'll send me $25 ,000 or $30 ,000.
We're started. These people need a lot of proof. They need a lot of handholding.
And I feel like they're extremely skeptical. They're the type of people who think everything is a scam and coaches are scams and this kind of stuff. They still want to build the brands.
Right. They want to do it. But it's a lot harder, I think, to get them closed and for much less money.
Yeah. So, I mean, the obvious way more headaches. Yeah.
I think it's interesting. Like, it's not so much that it's more headache. It's that the.
results are worse. Okay. So what I found with these people is a lot of times they'll come in, they'll be enthusiastic in the beginning.
We'll help them try to manufacture wins early on, but e -commerce as a whole, and especially brand building is not an immediate hit of success. Like, you know, it takes time. You got to build the brand.
It's not overnight. You know, it's something that you got to. build and scale and it's it's something that's a real business yeah and a lot of these people you know maybe they've tried drop shipping or some other things but they're just they're not thinking long term in the same kind of way yeah and so for them it's it's a little bit more they'll do the work but sometimes they fall off or they'll stall they have a hard time making decisions about products and then like you said about getting involved i actually care So I think that's one of the things that maybe might be hurting me.
But the truth is I care about every single one of these people. You're paying me. I want to deliver the best possible thing for you.
So I end up doing a lot of calls with them. I end up, you know, handholding them. Literally just yesterday, there was a girl who paid $2 ,000.
It's supposed to be just the content and that's it. And she was like struggling. So I got on a call with her.
I gave her products, you know, launch. Like I went through the kind of work that I would give this person, but for that amount of money. And so it ends up kind of consuming my.
time yeah i mean there's two problems that we can see here that we can easily fix right so the first problem that we essentially have is the low ticket offer they don't have enough skin in the game to actually do the work like 2k on a lifetime is what it's like nothing for for most people two thousand dollars on a lifetime it's not a lot of money which means the financial pressure that they feel in order to succeed is not high enough right but if you're selling the exact same coaching offer with just the information and maybe one group call a week and charge seven thousand dollars for it then it's like oh my god i paid seven thousand dollars for this i better succeed otherwise i wasted seven thousand dollars a lot of people who are willing to pay 2k even they don't care about losing the 2k so skin in the game is a big important one and that's why i would definitely increase the price of the coaching offer and stick to one price and if people don't want it you can either offer them payment plans but they end up still paying the full price or you're just not gonna help them because now you're telling me someone paid two thousand dollars and you're doing one -on -one calls with her but there's someone out there who paid you forty thousand dollars for the 101 calls yeah and then it's like unfair to these clients as well plus even if you give this girl
one -on -one calls she still only paid two thousand dollars yeah so she's not gonna take action enough in order to succeed then the other problem that we have is that we can handle all these objections that you mentioned in the content right so there are still too many objections out there on social media but also for these people that are coming on the sales call because they think they're gonna get rich quick they think they can exit the brand in three months they think they will drive a lambo or a porsche or they buy a nice watch in the next two months which is not the case like you want to focus on a market market with people that do understand building a brand takes time but it's gonna be worth it and that's why you need to talk way more on your personal brand about these exits because for you to have had these exits you have grinded you have worked way way harder than most individuals out there but the fruits of your labor were insane unlike anyone else's fruits of their labor probably right so you want to sell these people on the exit and then basically the horizon that comes after the access right when everything is sorted and the buyer has bought everything is over that's where you can enjoy the fruits of your labor but you cannot sell them like all these other guys out there and this is where you differentiate from any of the ecom guys out there you have sold a company a lot of these guys they made 100k per month they made a million per month in revenue with their ecom store but they have not sold their company and if you can leverage this more
more which we're gonna go over now you will have way more credibility and people will stop having these objections of like hey will i be rich tomorrow will i be rich in the next 30 days because they understand if i am going to follow through with adam's workflow with adam's framework i will have an exit at some point or a very successful e -commerce brand and i mean i can help them exit that's another thing too is you know part of me doing this for so long i have brokers around that will help us i have people who are m a experts i've at my agency we oversaw hundreds of acquisitions like i know what people want to buy you know but i think it's also one of those things that for people is a little bit abstract even for me before i sold a company it's not like i got into e -commerce to sell a brand yeah right i got into it to make some money and i was passionate about it and i had a vision and i think this is one of those things that as you're talking i'm realizing you know a number of the people who have paid me both on the low ticket and
the higher ticket offer, they all kind of said, like, I have this vision to build something or they want to build a brand. It's like, I don't have to convince them that e -commerce is something that they should do. Now, that being said, like, I got a lot of people in the funnel who are those people and then those never close.
It's the people who kind of have an idea of like, I want to do this. I want to make a brand. Maybe they don't have the product, but like, it's almost like they had this.
They want to build something. They want to build something. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And the most successful people actually are the ones who already have like some sort of business or entrepreneur. experience and i think for them it's a lot easier to grasp this idea that it's not overnight because they've been like run another company or they're like someone who's a real estate person like to your point or even like corporate people but more senior like they get like that kind of you know and they understand also the work ethic that's needed that's it that's an important one yeah nice so We got to fix the positioning first because that will help it done with who you're attracting to your page.
And if we're looking at your profile right now, it's pretty simple and straightforward, right? You have built and sold e -commerce. You have founded and sold a 340 team agency.
And then the call to action is basically, I will build you a profitable, sellable e -commerce business. Hit the link to find out how. So what I would do in this bio, the idea behind it is great, right?
Build and sold for e -commerce brands, founded and sold through 340 team agency. I will build you. profitable sellable econ business so depending on the offer that we want to speak to most which in my opinion would definitely be the high ticket offer because you can always downsell to people is we need to be more specific right like i built and sold four econ brands for x y and z dollars i would not say 340 team agency i scaled and sold a 340 team agency for x y and z and then the call to action it's already pretty similar right i will build you a profitable sellable econ business i will help you start and let's see start end scale see where this gets yeah yeah but you have to think about like what do these people want to read in the first three seconds when they come onto your page and if we go back at the strategy for that as well the credibility is definitely there but the way we're wording it has to be different right so yeah because the strategy what you have going on on your profile is already good right like you are doing the credibility
and then you also have explained like what it is that you help people with right and also the direction that you get them in so the credibility needs to be more specific in this case what i would just saw since we're only helping people actually build that econ brand we just skip out on the agency and then i would just mention like i've built and sold four econ brands for x amount of dollars right so that is going to be your bio on the credibility side of things then who are we going to help right so who is the next question that we want to ask ourselves is like who is this for because if we tell exactly inside our bio who it's for it's super easy if i come on your page and you say this is for people who want to start or sell their econ brands then it's super clear okay do i want to start my econ brand no i'm out of here do i want to sell my econ brand yes you have i will build you a profitable sellable econ business what i would do is i help people i'm gonna write it super short people start
because we want to target beginners but we also want to target advanced people start and tell their ecom brand that is going to be your bio so it's very clear of what it is that you help them with then the direction we need to point people into a certain direction so you basically have your landing page i'm guessing right exactly But what you get here, if you funnel people to a landing page, they're going to go to the landing page.
Maybe they don't like it. They lose you. They go back to a different app.
Maybe they go to YouTube. They are completely gone off your Instagram account, even though you got their attention on a short form video. So high quality lead goes to your landing page, gets a message, goes to YouTube, is gone forever because they came from a reel.
So the easiest way to get people into the right direction. it's pretty simple instead of sending them to your landing page since you just want to make sure you run ads to your landing page you're just going to have a dm cta so if you want my help to start and sell simply dm me the word brand and then that is the easiest way to get them onto your dms and also from the dms it's literally the easiest way to book them in for a call and okay maybe they have objections right they start dming with you they have questions is this for me is this not a scam how do i know you're legit and in the dms you can nurture them whatever content you have you can send them a youtube video but they will come back to the dms because you already have the conversation it makes a lot of sense because you know one of the things i felt like and i couldn't quite put a finger on exactly what it was but you know like a vsl call funnel or like what i have here basically driving somebody to a landing page it feels very one -sided i'm just putting information out there yeah i'm hoping that they like book a call with me there's no
messaging there's no communication and then between the time that they do that and the call like anybody there's a bunch of stuff that comes up whether it's personal life or objections in their head or who is this person one night asleep i don't care about it anymore and i forgot about it so i get a really low show rate on these calls when i do get calls booked and now that you're saying this i feel like it would be so much easier if i could just like talk to them you know and i'll do it or i could have a set or do it i guess yeah and just prime them and give them proof.
proof voice questions answer all this stuff and then then it's a conversation you know to your point that i haven't lost them i didn't quite think about that until just now actually i'm not sure about the funnel because of course you want to run ads to your landing page and it's going to be a quick tip in between but even when they have the option to book calls from your funnel after filling out a type form or watching your vsl your ideal situation is that they book a call on that same day or maximum three days out if it's longer than three days as you said a night of sleep maybe their friend is asking them to hang out.
And then they talk about, oh, I want to start this e -com brand. I'm speaking with a guy or I've watched this VSL. Then the friend is going to be like, oh, you're stupid.
You shouldn't be doing this. Then they're gone. They're not going to show up to the call.
I also think that this is like a thing around urgency here too, right? How do you create like buy -in on anything, not just these type of offers, but especially these is trust, urgency, proof, right? And I don't get to do any of that aside from what they see on the landing page in the VSL.
And candidly, when I look at metrics in the VSL, I mean, people watch the very beginning of it. Very few people actually watch an entire VSL.
I think most of us kind of know what it is now. It's like, all right, I'm going to be booked a call and I'm going to be sold something. And so I think a lot of people just aren't bought in.
And maybe if there was a way to kind of nurture them a little bit more. And by the way, keeping them on the page so they can watch me talk. Like the more that people hear, this is the thing I heard with everybody who's gotten on calls with me.
They're like, once I started talking to you, I was like, okay, you're authentic. what you're talking about and i knew i wanted to work with you yeah so then the whole focus should be simple you want to get them into a conversation whether that be in the dms exactly because in the dms like oh the easiest way to build trust is to just keep sending voice notes to each other and then oh they ask but hey man what kind of results can you get boom full -on case study on youtube this is how i sold and exited my econ brand yeah it's already meeting them in the ecosystem of all of them and it's basically watch that video 40 minutes long and then the next day they have to call all you have to do on the call is okay what are your credit cards details yeah and then we can get started because i'd like more of those yeah yeah that's how easy the sales calls can be if you've done the positioning well if you've done the nurturing well and if you've built enough trust to actually get these people to trust you and want to work with you yeah so before we can actually get people in we want to make sure we get the right people in right we're going to go ahead and draw this out as well because we want to get very clear on this because based on these things the whole marketing strategy is going to be made right we have who who do we want to sell to then what is their belief
about you about the market that you're in about the business that you sell and what is their biggest fear and this is probably one of the most important ones because we can go ahead and basically talk about any fear that they have in the content that we're making and therefore pre -handle any objections that they might have i've been kind of scared to talk about the fear i don't know why i feel like that would scare people up but now that you're saying this it makes more sense i want to just address it up front yeah because you have been through every single fear that they had right and you came out being very successful so you have to Talk to them about, hey, I was scared.
My story. Your story. What were you doing?
What were you afraid of? What were the mistakes? Any issues with team members?
Any issues with scaling, ad strategies? Maybe there were months where you're doing break -even numbers, but you still kept pushing. All these things are common, and you need to talk about your experience of how you got through these moments so that people can understand, oh, but this guy has been through it.
If he has been through it, he can take me through this story hand by hand. I had a number of people in calls ask me, like, what was the worst thing that happened? know and i guess i never really quite picked up on that there's a fear thing that i needed to address but yeah that makes a lot of sense by the way any sales call whether you close them or not the amount of questions and objections that they're giving you are straight up content ideas okay Oh, I don't have the budget for it.
Content idea. Oh, but what if it doesn't work out? Content idea.
Oh, but how do I actually sell the company? Content idea. I should take all these calls and put them in the cloud or something.
Cloud is your best friend. Put all these calls into cloud and you will have a good strategy already. But let's answer these questions, right?
So who do we actually want to sell to? So I think the kind of number one thing is, you know, first of all, they have to have money. Yeah.
All right. E -commerce in general. is a capital game yeah okay in order to build a big e -commerce brand you need to have some money you don't need like an insane amount of money but you need some capital you got to buy inventory you have to run ads if you're going to do that strategy so you need to have money i would say also what i found from all these calls as i mentioned is that Most of these people are already bought in on the idea of e -commerce.
And this is especially on the high ticket sales, right? Yeah. Because then they're like, okay, if they're coming in and they're like, I'll quote you, one of the people who I closed, who's one of the better clients that I have, he got on a call with me.
He's like, I want to build a $100 million supplement brand. And I've been watching your videos and you're the person who's going to help me do it. Like he literally said that to me.
Quote unquote, guys. Okay. And it's just like, that's crazy.
And the next day he wires me $25 ,000. So it was like that. And I think that type of person, of course, not everybody.
is going to be that guy there's probably not a lot of them but there's got to be 300 of them 500 of them a thousand people out there who have a vision maybe it's not to build a hundred million dollar supplement brand but it's to do e -commerce yeah right and and i don't have to convince them of the business model yeah those are the hardest ones yeah so they know e -commerce real and they know it's real they know it's work they know it works maybe they haven't done it before but they they know it works right yeah and i think another thing i would say the who would be somebody who like they're not necessarily looking for a side hustle to make two or three thousand dollars a month working with me in particular i want those people who are looking at this as a real business you know that doesn't mean they have to quit their job if they have a job or something like that but you know it's an asset right you're building something for the long term that you can make real money from if you commit to it then what are some of the beliefs that they have right because the who is very clear we need to know what they believe and we need to know their fear for the last part yeah okay so i think if i was thinking about the beliefs of these people i would say one of them is you know that
that they have to pick the right product, that picking the right product is the hard part. And then once they have a good product, everything else is easy. Yeah.
You know, like that. I would also think that. And is this true or no?
It isn't really. I mean, it's an important part of the business. It's easier to market a decent product that people really want than a great product that nobody really wants.
You're fighting an uphill battle. So product does matter, but it's not nearly as important as some of the other things that go into actually building a brand. A big one is just how you actually get in front of people.
How do you get that product in front of people? And a lot of people think also that if they build a store, like Shopify site or something like that, that's the hard part. right like the website the page the website i built this great brand and all this stuff and then all of a sudden like they're you know they come to me and they're like well i have this drop shipping site or have this store you know no one comes to the store it's like well yeah i mean that's the easy part okay anybody nowadays can use ai to make a 30 minute whatever like not even 10 minutes you know but the thing is is you have to overcome a lot of barriers how do you get people to the site how do you market how to convince them that your site and solution is the right thing how do you get them to actually pay with a credit card so that's definitely a belief that people have i think another thing too good or bad necessarily with this i'm not sure but is that they have to buy a lot of inventory
If you're doing an Amazon FBA business or even TikTok shop, dropshipping is a little bit different. But truthfully, no offense to dropshipping bros, you're not really building a real brand. And that's a whole different business model, which I don't really do.
But inventory is one of those things that people think, I have to have $20 ,000 or more to get inventory. You don't need that much. You need capital, okay?
As we said here, you do need capital. Yeah, you need capital in order to have enough inventory when it's necessary. Exactly.
And when it's necessary is the key thing here, okay? Let's say I have 10 grand to invest in or in a brand, right? I set aside that much for the inventory.
Well, the way I would do things is we're never going to spend all that up front on the inventory. You're going to test a little bit first. You negotiate good terms with your suppliers.
You never pay the full amount up front. It's always in tranches. And then you grow it as you go and add the profits that you make back into this.
So it's not like you need a huge sum of money, but a lot of people think that they have to spend a ton of money and invest into this thing. And that scares a lot of people away, I think. And then when it comes to the fear that these people might have, what are the three main fears that people have?
I mean, the biggest one probably is losing money, right? I mean, I think that's everybody's fear when they go into business is what if it doesn't work out? And there's actually a lot in that.
So it's not just losing money, but it's, you know, what does somebody think about if... i don't do well like how what are my friends and family gonna think but definitely like you know losing money so buying a bunch in an inventory and it doesn't sell picking the wrong product and it doesn't sell you know this consuming all my time and it not working i think that's a big one right the other thing too is i would say fears of these people is inherent fear of gurus maybe not fear but like distrust and fear of trusting the wrong person and losing money you know if you're paying somebody seven grand or 10 or whatever the number is 20 you know for a lot of people that's a lot of money and it's a bit intangible yep right so most of these people don't know me personally they can look at some of my background but claims are what people make and this is one of the things that's been so stressful for not stressful but like annoying for me is i've actually done this yeah you've exited i've actually built real brands you know and then i see a lot of people out there screenshots of a good month like that's not a business yeah okay no hate on the dropship bros but like let's be real okay and so i think that's a big thing it's like losing money to somebody who's you know
a fake guru yeah yeah then we have all these things right and essentially what you want to flow every time we make a video or content on your page whether that be stories carousels videos ads whatever the case might be vsl we always need to follow this right we want to know exactly who are we speaking to what do they believe maybe how can we change these beliefs especially this one product finding is hard not the case product marketing is hard can be easy inventory is scary no it doesn't have to be then losing money okay what is their fear how can we create videos about losing money and how to prevent from it.
Inventory. How do you deal with inventory? How can you make sure that if you have $10 ,000, 20 % is going to inventory, 40 % is going to ads, and then another 20 % is going somewhere else, right?
And then the gurus, right? And this is where it comes to branding and positioning again, right? The more trust you can put on your page about you exiting the companies, helping other people, testimonials, what results can you get for other people?
The more you leverage this in the form of real carousel stories, the more and easier it is for people to trust you. think that you are not a guru because frankly you're not and when they have enough trust gained that is where the 25k bank transfers will be easy that has happened before right because people have paid you the money because they trusted you and they believe in what it is that you do so every single post that we make needs to be based off essentially this diagram right then when we go into creating this engine right because right now you have certain blocks in your strategy and it's pretty simple and straightforward because all you basically have right now in your whole system that is working is the conversations, right?
The conversations, they are doing fine, right? Everything is going well. When people come on the call, when they speak with you, they know and trust you and they know that it's smart to give you their money because they know you can actually get them the results.
But you have no growth. that is controlled. You simply have no discovery so people can actually understand who you are.
You have no profile that is actually optimized in order to build this trust so you can get more people onto the conversations. And you need to know how to nurture people better so when they come onto the conversation, your closing rate will go up, right? So in order to have controlled growth, we need to come up with a very clear organic marketing strategy and potentially turn on a software that starts interacting with people within your niche, starts following them, liking their profile, profile liking their pictures they follow you back and that way you grow an audience within the niche that is similar to what you're trying to sell and therefore it's easier for people to come onto your page and discover who you are as an individual right then Try Reels.
This needs to be utilized like crazy, right? You can post one or twice a day on the main feed, blah, blah, blah. Everyone is doing this.
You're not competing if you're doing it this way. So what you want to do is you want to utilize Try Reels at least like 10 to 15 times per day, in my opinion, to get as much new people onto your page that discover who you are as an individual. Then when they come onto your profile, when it's optimized, they know exactly what it is that you do, what it is that you help people with, the results that you can get through the form of your bio, your highlights, your pinpoints.
your pinned video and then it's easy because you just need to nurture them over time with the content that you're making showing more stories on your profile making sure that they understand the results that you can get and then as i said they come on to the conversation and this is the easy part for you and all you need to ask is hey man What is your credit card details?
And then we're going to get started. So within this system, the only one that you have going on right now is the conversation. You need to fix the controlled growth, either with the software or having a clear strategy in place for your main feed videos.
Then way more people need to discover you. Your profile needs to be optimized and you need to nurture people way, way more and way, way more consistently to actually get more conversions and conversations so you can make more money. Now, let's take it a few steps back, right?
Like in order to implement this for you, ask me any questions you want to have answered, right? now and we're gonna go over it so you can implement it i mean it's pretty straightforward right to me though the first question is how do i do 15 reels a day because i have a father i've got a life i mean i understand if that's part of the business and i gotta do it i'll figure it out but this has been probably one of the hardest things for me it's like coming up with stuff to say you know an easy fix in my opinion is just set an alarm every 30 minutes every time the alarm goes off you have 30 seconds to either talk about a result your offer what you do the companies you've exited anything that you have been through while scaling this company you have 30 seconds to make it, post it and forget about it, continue with your day.
that's it there's no scripting there's no give me an hour to think about this video it's 30 seconds i tend to overthink everything that's the problem so i'm like sitting here wondering if it's the right thing to say and all that stuff but especially with content and it's the hardest thing but it's better to have posted 15 videos that are okay when you're just getting started than having posted zero videos when you're just getting started because then you're not starting it that makes sense that makes sense cool okay i mean it's pretty straightforward man i i think like the main thing is you know growth i need just more people coming into us, right?
And so how do I get this? And I'll throw ad money into it. I mean, if something's worked.
working like unlimited ad budgets yeah so this is going to be a soft pitch to be honest but we have a growth software which basically starts interacting with people in your space it's literally like 350 per month or euros i'm not sure and it's going to start targeting people in your niche you can put target accounts in of your competitors it's going to start interacting and therefore their followers will come to your page to discover who you are look at your profile get nurtured and then get sold right and then of course we have the ads but if you do ads but all of these things are not working in any way possible then you're just putting money down the drain i was just like i'm not getting you know i'm getting like a 2x row as i mean which is okay it's not amazing but it's doubling the money essentially but when you come out out all this it's like okay that's not nearly as good as it could be and i know it's because all this stuff isn't really dialed in you know it's like i haven't created this ecosystem of where someone wants to live and learn a lot about from it you know
of me or from me yeah and then convert i'm like ramming directly into this yeah like you think okay i want leads boom ads and especially if you do a vsl funnel or profile funnel if you don't have an established instagram profile with a pinned video the highlights everything that you need in order for people as soon as they come onto your page know exactly what it is that you do then you're wasting your money on ads.
Like on a profile funnel, you can easily do ROAS 7, 8, even 9 or 10 on your ad spend if all these single elements are optimized. This one is optimized, of course, but all these need to be optimized in order for the ads to work, right? So that is the most important thing.
We need to fix these things in order for the ads to work, right? People think like, oh, let me put $1 ,000 in ads and then it will work out. No, all these things need to be automated.
I learned all that the hard way because I just spent so much money on it and I think I got some deal. At least you learn, right? Yeah, true.
At least you learn. Cool. So then based on this whole strategy that we just written out, right?
Like what are the next two weeks going to look like for you when it comes to actually pushing this offer and creating marketing and selling your offer? I mean, the timing is actually interesting because I've got a bunch of launches coming up for people either that we're doing done for you or even people in the group coaching.
Like, so it's a pretty exciting time. You know, people are feeling like really excited. There's going to be a lot of results happening, right?
So I think it makes sense to... probably document that process you know i'm just not really sure how to do it but we've got a lot going on we've got a lot happening actually yeah so yeah i think timing is good probably timing is good so i think the first step we need to do is or what you need to do after this conversation fix the profile make sure you have the right distribution system because if you have an unfixed profile but you start creating content and still no one is going to convert then one very important thing because you have launches coming up is you want to leverage every single one of these launches because these are going to be the easiest way for you to show people what it is that you do what you help people with and how you get them results right so leverage the launches that you're about to do with your clients then when you see that the organic pipeline is going better you reach more people to the form of trial reels then it's time to start running profile funnels right so that's where you start doing the ads but without any of these done you can simply not do the ads so if we want to focus on the ads when all these things are done it's going to be pretty simple and straightforward so this is what we want to implement when we start building our campaign right so you have your abo campaign here with different ad sets right so let's essentially draw out all the assets that we need all right so you want to have a few ad sets that are
broad you want to have a few ad sets that target interest And then you want to have one that's maybe lookalike. But I would say your audience is not big enough to create a lookalike audience yet because you haven't sold to enough people.
Now, within the first broad ad set, you want to focus on the country. Then you want to focus on the language in the other one or maybe different countries as well possible. Then you want to focus on the age range.
And then within the interest, you want to do your market. And you want to do the other one that's also about your market, but maybe different ones. So this one could be e -commerce, entrepreneurship, business.
social media, entrepreneurship, or online business, for example. Then by doing this, you basically test out the different ad sets. Within the ad sets, you want to have the exact same ads.
Because if you're going to change the ads, you're going to get different data for each ad set. And then you don't know which one of all these things is actually working. So you test the ad sets first.
Based on that, you have a few ad sets that you want to optimize for. So for example, this interest ad set is working and this broad ad set is working. Now, if we start zooming in on the...
and the broad ad set, it's pretty simple. That's where we can start testing creatives, right? So within every ad set, you always wanna make sure you have the same ads because otherwise you're gonna get different data again for each ad set.
Makes sense. So you wanna go ahead and test out, for example, five ads per ad set. This one also five.
And then you're going to see exactly which one of these ads are performing the best. Maybe you have three best performers. You wanna pick those three and create better versions of those three videos.
to see if you can get a cheaper cost per follow, a cheaper cost per book call. But you need to go through the trenches that I showed you before on testing all these ad sets and the interest in your market. Then you're going to test the creative game.
And based on the creatives, you're going to keep optimizing for the creatives that you want to do. I have a question that comes up with this. How much should I spend to test this?
Yeah. So in my opinion, like as much as you essentially can, but not more than 500 a day if you're just starting within the testing phase. If you have $100 per day to test with $100, per day if you have 500 data start with 500 but i wouldn't go over 500 per day because it's just too much for the testing phase right like a lot of the money is also going to things that are not going to be working out because you're testing at some point you do have a winning ad and let's say you have it could be one winning ad i remember with one of our clients jacob we had one winning ad that single video made more than a million dollars just that one single created okay and the whole game with ads is you want to find these winning ads that will allow you to get that ad that's going to make you a million dollars and you can keep running it forever like as long as all the stats on that ad are good you can keep scaling the budget like he was spending at some point 10k per day on a single ad you know or like single different ad sets and then all the ads that were in there were getting the results of him doing like what 1 .4 million a month at some point that is the game it's going to be tough to get to your winning creatives because you might have to go through this process of creating new creatives five six seven times before you find a winner but when you find that winner it's like finding a golden nugget then it's game
found from this anyway is that the stuff that seems to work best for me is unedited raw things like i mean i'm running people always laugh when they find out where i've gotten my leads from almost all of them have come from one youtube ad where i just literally set up a camera and i talked for four minutes no edits nothing and what i found with this too because i have run some facebook ads or meta ads is that the unedited unscripted stuff does really well yeah people like it's authentic i think and so people it's authentic you stay close to the audience like even a setup like this it we are so far away from the viewer behind the screen yeah but how would we film this video with a knife yeah can you imagine that would be crazy yeah yeah so the authentic videos definitely work and it's a good thing because how easy are these videos yeah you should knock them out knock them out 30 minutes every every 30 minutes an alarm knock them out so that is the ads game and it's gonna cost money
But it's also the scaling thing, right? Like, yes, you can get to 100, 150, maybe even 200K per month with organic. But man, those million dollars a month, like everyone that I know that did a million dollars per month had to do ads.
I want to do it fast. dude right this is the thing it's like i have an urgency to do it fast and i think organic is a slow burn building a brand is hard right so it takes time and it's yeah with ads if you find something that works okay then you put money behind it and i think it speeds everything up but everything we showed up until the ads was organic and this is probably the most common objection i get from anyone and the most difficult issue we have with clients is like hey bro it's it's been two months why am i not at a hundred thousand followers you're building a personal brand you're actually trying to make people trust you but it's not easy to get a hundred thousand people to follow and trust you i mean for me i think also i don't need a hundred thousand five like i think i need people you can do like half a million a month with ten thousand that's what i'm saying i don't even need that many because again when i go back to this if i'm selling something for twenty five thousand dollars
okay, I know for sure that there are 500 people out there that will pay that amount of money. Yeah, 100%. That's an eight -figure business, basically, with 500 people.
So I just need to pinpoint those people and speak to them and not everybody. And that comes all down to building that trust, doing your positioning right, sticking to your positioning and not changing it every single week because that's what a lot of guys will do. I get antsy.
But yeah, I mean, the next steps would essentially be, and for anyone watching this video as well, like download it, transcribe it. it save it to your cloud make your strategy based off of this but this is essentially in i don't know the time about 60 minutes maybe 65 70 how to actually build and scale a personal brand and just so you know we just said it it takes time to build a personal brand but the amount of money that you can be making especially when you have cracked the ads once your personal brand is established is i mean out of this world so without further ado adam do you have any final words uh how do i work with you nice we'll get there soon i'm not i'm not trying to sell for you but i i like a lot to think about here man i definitely want to implement this stuff right away and make these changes so you know i definitely could use some help on that and i think like look i know when i can i know what i do is good yeah i know i can give people these offers right i'm not like somebody who's just winging it
I've been in the game for a long time. And I think that's been the really frustrating thing, you know, because candidly, I've seen all these other people making a ton of money. And I'm like, I have never heard of you before.

The Hook

The bait, then the rug-pull.

The guest has sold four ecommerce brands to an aggregator and an agency for around $10 million, yet he admits most of his audience doesn't know any of it. What follows is a working session, marker in hand, that rebuilds his offer, profile, content and ad plan around the one thing his competitors can't claim: real exits.

Frameworks

Named ideas worth stealing.

Two-bucket offer

  1. Scaling bucket: already selling, needs acceleration, one fixed high price
  2. Beginner bucket: has a budget, wants to start, one fixed lower price

Replace a scatter of custom prices with exactly two fixed offers and decide what share of content serves each.

Bio formula

  1. Credibility with specific numbers
  2. Who it's for
  3. Direction (DM keyword CTA)

Three lines that tell a visitor in three seconds what you've done, whether it's for them, and what to do next.

Who / Believe / Fear

  1. Who: capital, believes ecom is real, not a side hustle
  2. Believe: product is hard, store is hard, inventory is expensive
  3. Fear: losing money, trusting the wrong guru

A three-column grid every post, story, carousel, ad and VSL should map to, so content pre-handles objections.

Growth engine

  1. Controlled growth
  2. Discovery (Trial Reels)
  3. Profile
  4. Nurture
  5. Conversation

Five linked stages; fixing the weakest upstream stage matters more than polishing the sales call.

Ad testing ladder

  1. ABO campaign
  2. Broad ad sets by country, language, age
  3. Interest ad sets around the market
  4. Identical ads across sets
  5. Then ~5 creatives per winning set
  6. Iterate on top 3
  7. Max $500/day while testing

Test one variable at a time: audiences first with fixed creative, then creatives within the winning audiences.
