And that's because with the release of the Higgs field API, you are no longer tied to a $220 a month subscription plan to get access to the top AI image and video generators. Instead, you can just pay as you go when you need images or videos with your particular project at rates that are lower than the competition.
And unless you're operating at a huge scale, this will save you money in the long run. So today I'm going to break down how this all works. We're going to dive into the pricing.
I'm going to give you a skill. that essentially acts as a mini MCP for this API, and we'll go through an actual use case. So let's get started.
So the Higgs field API was just released today. This is entirely separate from the monthly subscription. So if you pay for a monthly subscription, that batch money that goes to that does not apply to the API whatsoever.
On the flip side, if you want to use the API, you do not need a monthly subscription. Two entirely separate things. To get to the Higgs Field API, all you need to do is head to the main Higgs Field page at higgsfield .ai, and then you'll go ahead and click over here on the Higgs Field API link.
That'll bring you to a page that looks like this. If you sign up with a business email, they'll throw you $15 for your first few generations. And when you sign in, you will see some cards appear at the top of your screen asking for your credit card to be able to get the $15 thrown to you because the way it works, like all APIs, you give it some sort of wallet with a certain amount of money, and it's going to draw from that wallet every time you ask for a generation.
Before we talk about actually using this thing, let's first talk about the pricing, which is the big sell here. First of all, they're running like a seven -day limited offer. So you can choose two video models and an image generation model to get essentially an extra discount on them.
I suggest for at least one of your discounts doing the Seed Dance 2 .5 model, which is sort of the best one out there. I did Seed Dance 2 .5 and 2 .0 because 2 .0 can get up to 4K resolution. Now, in terms of...
pricing again what did we used to work with well we had no option put these subscription plans which ran up to 200 a month and there were plenty of times if you've used these where you simply did not get even close to the amount of generations you could so you had a bunch of unused credits at the end of each and every month but with the api we don't have to worry about that because it is simply pay as you go but what does the api pricing look like when we compare it to the other big players in the market like foul well in general it's cheaper or it's simply more available.
When we look at things like the Kling model, it's about 15 % cheaper across the board than what you get with FAL, and we have access to other models that you simply can't get in FAL. And what does that pricing look like when we're talking about the most expensive video generation model, something like CDAN's 2 .5? Well, we're looking about 18 cents a second for the top models out there.
Now let's talk about how you actually use this thing inside of Cloud Code or Codex. There's a quick start over here on the left. It says send this prompt to your agent.
I don't suggest doing this because this prompt is more about how you can set up Higgs field inside a particular application. When chances are you're just like, hey, I'm inside of Cloud Code or inside of Codex and I want to like on demand tell it, hey, go generate a video using Seed Dance or hey, go generate a video using Cling, so on and so forth.
So in that case, what you need to do is A, you need to create an API key. You're just going to click this button right here. It's going to show you an API key.
Just save that somewhere. And then you need to point Cloud Code or Codex or whatever AI agent you're using at. whatever model you want.
So for example, let's say I wanted to use CDANCE 2 .5. If I click on here, I can just copy this prompt and this prompt will dump a ton of information inside of Codex or Cloud Code. So you can see here, it gives like the overview, it gives the actual schema, on and on and on, does a bunch of information.
So this is enough for any sort of AI system you're using, but this is kind of cumbersome because what is the expectation? Do you expect me to always go into the Higgsfield .ai, go over here to the model, copy that prompt, bring it to my AI system, and that's how the flow should go? Obviously not.
That's, again, pretty cumbersome. So instead, what I've done is I've created a Higgsfield API skill for you guys. I will link that in the pinned comment.
And all you need to do is go inside of Cloud Code, go inside of Codex, and you're going to clone this repo. If you don't know how to clone a repo, all you need to do is copy the URL, head inside of your AI agent of choice, paste it in there, and say, clone and run this repo it knows to clone the repo and then run the skill what the skill is going to do is it's going to set up the higgs field api on your agent and from now on whenever you want to use the higgs field api you just say use the higgs field api to do whatever it is you want and what's going to happen is codex or cloud code is then going to go to higgs field on its own and it's going to take a look at the documentation and it's going to figure out what model needs what so it's almost like a primitive mcp you can use this skill to ask for recommendations when it comes to models and you can even tell it hey i want you to create clips for an explainer and you can give it some sort of budget to stay under so that it doesn't just blow through your limits so now let's put it to the test i'm giving astra a prompt saying i want to use the motion design skill to create a 15 second explainer showing how creatine helps power your muscles and then at the end i say i want to do this
using Seed Dance 2 .5 through the Higgs Field API. Now, if you don't know what the motion design skill is, it's a skill that I've created that helps you create essentially these motion graphics. Did a whole video on it, and I will also link the skill down in the pinned comment as well.

so there we go simple enough the skill just makes it a lot easier for you to be able to grab different models because like i said it can be a little janky when we're kind of just like going through the one at the time and like copying these prompts over. So definitely check out the skill for someone who's gonna be using a ton of different models and just want a simple way to execute all this.
