Well, real time video just got really real and is opening up the door to all kinds of interesting use cases. So today we're going to take a look at the big breakthrough, what people are doing with it, what you can do with it, and most importantly, will it be open sourced and how much does it cost? But also free video generation if you don't have the hardware.
Buckle up because this one is pretty wild. Kicking off, if you've been following the channel for a while, you know I've been keeping an eye on the real -time AI video space. And my interest there has always stemmed from, well, two quotes.
One from LTX's CEO, Zeb Farben, like, I want to say like two years ago at the launch event for LTX Video, where he said that video generation faster than you can prompt will be possible very soon. And of course, the famous quote from our guy with the greatest leather jacket collection of all time, Jensen Huang. when he said in the future, every pixel will be generated.
Well, the future got here pretty quick, namely because of open source. Now, everything that we're seeing here today is possible because of Minimax's decision to open source Minimax H3, which is, I mean, this is the video model that has pretty much won the hearts and minds of the open source video community. If you need to get up to speed on how to run H3 locally, I did sneak that into the last video on de -terrifying comfy UI.
You can check that video out. It is linked down below. And just recently, we got perhaps the biggest leap forward with Mini Max via H3 Max from Fall, which can pretty much do real -time video generation.
I mean, and it's pretty crazy. Let's take a quick look. Hey, buddy, I missed you.

My recipe book was stolen. No more soup? Whatever it takes, I'll find that book, even if it costs me my life!
So we're going to return to that lost Seinfeld episode in just a bit because, I mean, it's much crazier than you think. But first, let's break all of this down because H3 Max, well, it's actually kind of two things. But before we do that, just a quick brief on who exactly Fall is.
Now, I have covered Fall in the past. So, I mean, I'm sure that you've all heard the name. And actually, just a few weeks ago, I was on the Fall podcast with my pal Matt Workman.
If you missed that, link down below. is that chances are you've actually used fall without ever knowing it because fall is basically the inference that like most of the gen ai platforms actually run on so i mean you can really think of them as the racetrack for generative media but lately well to continue on with that analogy they they seem to be building their own cars and this first one is a very fast car uh fall has unveiled minimax h3 max which is obviously built on the open source code of h3 but can render out a five second 768 clip with audio in under three seconds which actually makes it faster than real time now as an important note here is fast better well i mean in that case we always have to kind of go back to the fast cheap good triangle you can only pick two now this is not to say that it's a bad model but rather to say that if you were to a b it uh against h3 with a turbo lore you know generating locally uh as a friend of the channel matt vid pro did here um that you know i think that the local uh turbo lore does come out a little bit ahead but at the end of the day i mean i think that both clips do a fine job of conveying the idea of a crab with a jet pack and isn't that the most important thing so h3 max is both fast and cheap in fact it's actually so cheap you can use it for free right now over on fall uh you just sign in uh link it will be down below and uh
Yeah, you get a number of free video generations per day. You can generate at five seconds or 10 seconds and text to video or image to video. In this case, I just ran our man in a blue business suit walking down a busy city street.
Our guy looks pretty solid here. I will say that although it does generate in as little as three seconds, when you're on here, you're basically in a queue. So it may take you a little bit longer.
That said, I'm pretty sure this came in at less than 30 seconds. And hey, who doesn't love free? It's our favorite.
favorite four letter F word. But where things get really crazy is in the second half of H3 Max, in which interactivity is bolted onto faster than real time generation. Because Fall have also released Fall Live, which is essentially a streaming channel of H3 Max generations that is continuously prompted via a live chat from users.
So there are basically six channels that you can flip through, Chaos Stream, Toon Lab, Choice, Tiny World, hot mic. And again, it's just continuously generating based off of user suggestions in the chat window.
Now, admittedly, at the time of this recording, Fall Live is actually on standby as they are tinkering with stuff. That said, here's a quick capture of it in action from Igor Sack. It's just an additional FYI.

Admittedly, not quite The Rock. Well, maybe it is The Rock, but it's like the young version of The Rock. But overall, I mean, I'm actually more interested in seeing what happens here than I am the new Jumanji movie.
James Russo utilized H3 Max to build out an infinite TikTok social stream.
Random? I mean, yeah, absolutely. But it also doesn't feel any less random than like, you know, like swiping through any other vertical social feed.
There was another kind of brilliant use case here utilizing the recurring Rick and Morty gag of like interdimensional cable TV. I mean, this is something where the randomness actually works. And then ultimately, kind of the grand culmination of everything, Levels .io built out Infinite Slop AI, which is actually up and running right now.
Link is down below. Let's take a quick look at that. So yeah, as we can see here, there's 1 ,059 other people watching this right now.
I mean, it's living up to its name, I suppose. You know, prompts are coming in via the chat over here. This is what's playing next.
Then obviously folks are like leaving in the prompts here. Now, I should note that what Levels built here is basically, you know, it just generates a new video per prompt very quickly, of course. The difference between what's happening here and what's happening on the fall side is that on the fall side, they're actually utilizing the H3 Max Director, which is an autoregressive continuous variant that allows for up to two minutes of contextual knowledge.
So essentially, you know, consistent characters and location, and even as random as the prompts are, the model is going to try to figure out a way to kind of stitch them together. That said, circling back to Infinite Slop here, what is kind of, what is happening? here um what's really kind of interesting is that despite the fact that there is like kind of no director mode here the fact that you know a thousand people are in here all prompting at the same time and kind of reacting to what they're seeing there actually is kind of like this weird level of like a narrative of sorts uh that ends up happening a very like hive mind surreal one but uh yeah pretty fast i mean i'm just watch it for like three minutes it's it's oddly mesmerizing And what's extra crazy about Infinite Slop is that Levels actually built the whole thing on his phone while in a sauna.
I mean, if that doesn't say exactly where we are in terms of technology, I don't know what does. Another pretty interesting use case here, this one from, once again, from Igor Sack, who I guess was pretty busy this weekend. What he essentially did was created a 24 -7 news channel that would take information that was pulled from RSS feeds, Reddit, and even...
an antenna that was mounted to his roof. That information is all then turned into prompts, which is then turned into video. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
He put about two hours and 45 minutes of channel zero, as he calls it, here on YouTube. The link is down below. Admittedly, it's pretty weird, but once again, I mean, also kind of hypnotic.
But by far, to me, the most interesting stuff comes out of this interactivity layer. You remember that Seinfeld episode we saw earlier? Well, it turns out, But that is interactive.
Did you see anything suspicious at the soup shop? I saw Elaine rushing out, but she always rushes everywhere. But she did have a weird soup recipe -sized book under her arm, now that I think about it.
So, does Jerry's latest tip change things? Do we keep questioning Jerry, or go press George at Monk's? So while in this particular project experiment, we can kind of see the bones of it.
I'll sort of describe it as in that, you know, we have these sort of like tiles that move across and clearly it's within the five second generation limit. In fact, actually, I don't know if that's like a first frame, last frame thing happening here, but we do see essentially this frame, you know, move over into the next generation.
That said, doesn't make this any less impressive by any means. And look, just to address the elephant in the room, namely the eye. I mean, I totally get it.
It is something that we are going to have to work out at some point or another. That said, I mean, this one did make me laugh.
So at least AI Will Smith has a sense of humor about it all. I mean, I will say I get it. I mean, I know the Seinfeld -y type stuff gets the most amount of eyeballs.
That said, I mean, there are so many other interesting things that we can do with this. For example, Ege Bashe ended up creating this kind of like real -time video Pictionary game. I mean, that's pretty fascinating.
That's something that, I mean, could not exist, like real -time Pictionary video. That's something that could not exist without this technology. And Blendy actually ended up making a interactive animated game utilizing H3 Max.
You know, you kind of have like branch points here where you can choose, you know, choose your own adventure, I guess. What this kind of reminds me of is Space Ace or Dragon's Lair, I guess, if you're old enough to remember that. And if you're old enough to remember that, you are complaining about your back a lot lately.
I'm not judging. I am too. So if you want to build out something like this, you know, interactive animated game, Blendy did actually open source all of the code for that.
So you can go ahead and grab that and give it a shot. I do have to note that this does make a call to the fall API.
And then in addition, two small LLM calls per beat. So just keep an eye on that one. So in terms of pricing via the API, it looks like currently it's $0 .08 a second at $7 .68, $7 .20 -ish.
So about $4 .80 per minute. Although currently half off, there's a bit of a sale running right now at $0 .04 a second for the first 14 days. That said, if you you were to try to set up something like a 24 seven channel, like infinite slop, you know, that's going to end up running you, I guess, close to $4 ,000 a day.
So, you know, probably not worth it, you know, to do that right now. Now, in terms of open sourcing, we haven't gotten any official word yet, but there has been some chatter that H3 Max might be open sourced. That said, I don't think that the director part will necessarily be open sourced.
I presume that will remain proprietary to fall. So where are we now? Well, look, I mean, real -time streaming AI video is really here.
Is it the video quality of like, like CDANCE levels? No, it is not. Is it as Levels .io appropriately named it a bit of an AI slop cannon?
Yes, it currently is, but that won't last long. I mean, just nine months ago, this is what real -time AI video looked like. So things got pretty good pretty quickly.
So yes, while on the one hand, this does open up the door to like infinite episodes of The Office. I think this is actually made of cardboard. It's not even cardboard.

Fair point. It's funny that Pam never picked up that he was undercover Jack Ryan that whole time. Look, I mean, I think the thing that I'm most excited about all of this is actually in the interactive layer.
As Kramer over at Fall points out, like, I mean, how about a D &D campaign where chat votes on decisions at each point? I mean, to me, that's pretty interesting. Ultimately, I think that this is just kind of leading to a new medium of entertainment.
Serious narrative work will always require intentional creating, whether generating or traditional editing and the entire post -production process. But this new form of instant generation with interactivity, I mean, that does open up the doors to some brand new narrative experiences. In the meantime, I mean, I'll be keeping an eye on this and everything else happening in real -time video, but...
