Big Idea
The argument in one line.
An ad's job is only to get seen, so an 8-10x return comes from retargeting infrastructure split across a cheap invisible list of video watchers and an expensive physical opt-in list, not from a better ad.
Who This Is For
Read if. Skip if.
READ IF YOU ARE…
You already run paid ads at any budget but sales stall after the click, and you suspect the funnel, not the ad creative, is the leak.
You're a coach or service provider sitting on hours of old video or training content you've never repurposed into retargeting assets.
You want a system for turning video viewers who never opt in into paying clients without spending more on conversion campaigns.
SKIP IF…
You want a step-by-step Facebook Ads Manager tutorial on campaign structure, budgets, or targeting settings; this call is strategy and infrastructure, not platform mechanics.
You have no existing content library yet and aren't willing to start producing daily video; the whole system assumes a stream of power content to feed it.
TL;DR
The full version, fast.
Laurel Portié argues that ads only buy eyeballs, not sales, so an 8-10x return comes from infrastructure built around a funnel, not a better ad. She splits cold traffic into a physical list (opt-ins, expensive, everyone fighting for it) and a cheaper invisible list of people who watched 25% or more of short 'power content' videos, then retargets both with longer nurture content on what she calls a conveyor belt, aiming for the 7 hours, 11 touchpoints, 4 platforms she says it takes to convert. Winning is about consistency and volume, not clever tactics: watch time and stop-the-scroll rate are the only two numbers she checks daily. The call doubles as a live pitch for her Momentum mastermind and closes with real-time audience Q&A.

00:30 – 09:20
02 · The Momentum pitch and backstory
She recaps how her Momentum mastermind was born, reveals it's capped at 200 members with 186 filled, and announces the price jumping from $200 to $300 a month once it's full.
09:20 – 14:30
03 · Three shifts for 2026 ads
Three reframes: ads only create eyeballs and not sales, tactics are fluid while principles aren't, and winning comes from consistency rather than cleverness.
14:30 – 21:30
04 · Funnel vs. conveyor belt
Screen-sharing an iPad whiteboard, she reframes a sales funnel as a sales process full of black holes, then introduces the conveyor belt as an incline that keeps leads moving instead of falling through by gravity.
21:30 – 28:02
05 · The 2-3% and the hot Cheetos pizza story
Using a downtown restaurant-row analogy and her own hot-Cheetos-pizza story, she explains why only 2-3% of any audience is ready to buy and how repeated exposure creates a one-track hunger for a single solution.
28:02 – 36:00
06 · Invisible list, warm stack, 7-11-4
She splits cold traffic into a physical list and a cheaper invisible list of 25%-plus video watchers, introduces the 7-11-4 rule and the warm stack, and names watch time and CTR as the only two metrics she tracks.
36:00 – 50:00
07 · Live Q&A
Named callers ask about trolls versus warm-stack qualification, niche targeting for a pregnancy audience, personal versus business page ad rules, spirituality in marketing, and AI tools like ARCads.
50:00 – 57:30
08 · Close: pricing recap, AI clone, sign-off
She recaps Momentum pricing and the September beach-house event, reveals a Claude-based AI clone of herself and a categorized Loom video library for members, then signs off.
Atomic Insights
Lines worth screenshotting.
Only 2-3% of any audience is ready to buy at a given moment, and every competitor is fighting over that exact same sliver of people.
An ad's only job is to get shown; if Facebook displays it in the newsfeed, the ad already worked, and everything after that is on your infrastructure.
She cites a rule of 7 hours of content, 11 touchpoints, and 4 platforms before a buyer converts, not one great ad.
Someone who watches 25% of a video can be a better-qualified lead than someone who typed in an email address, because fake emails cost nothing to give away.
Consistency beats talent: businesses that just leave ads running for years outperform the ones constantly pausing to 'optimize.'
Trolls comment on videos, they don't watch them, so a minimum watch-time filter for retargeting naturally screens them out of a warm audience.
A personal Facebook profile can only be boosted, never retargeted, so nurture content belongs on the business page while personal posts stay for direct conversation.
Watch time and stop-the-scroll rate are the only two metrics tracked day to day; revenue versus ad spend gets checked every other day and nothing else matters if that number is positive.
Polarizing, spirituality-forward positioning is framed as lowering refund rates by repelling buyers who were never aligned with the brand in the first place.
A recurring, no-slides monthly Zoom pitched only to warm leads is presented as converting invisible viewers into paying clients better than a polished webinar.
Takeaway
The ad only buys eyeballs; the infrastructure buys the sale.
AD INFRASTRUCTURE
8-10x ROAS comes from splitting cold traffic into a cheap invisible list and an expensive physical list, then nurturing both toward the longer, multi-touch path she says it actually takes to convert.
02The Momentum pitch and backstory
The habit worth copying isn't the mastermind pitch, it's the two questions she asks every new client: what's your 'enough number,' and what are you actually willing to do to hit it.
A coaching offer that scales without burning out its owner runs on infrastructure, not the operator's time: her business runs on close to zero employees and four hours of work a day because systems, not she, do the follow-up.
03Three shifts for 2026 ads
Treat an ad's only job as getting shown, not getting a sale: if Facebook serves it, the ad did its job, and everything after that is on your funnel and infrastructure.
Swiping someone else's tactic, like a webinar deck or a 'money model,' without the years of audience trust behind it is why the swipe fails; tactics are fluid, principles aren't.
Winning is a consistency contest, not a talent contest: campaigns left running for years outperform ones constantly paused to chase optimization.
04Funnel vs. conveyor belt
A sales funnel is really just a sales process with black holes at every step; the fix isn't a better funnel, it's infrastructure that plugs those holes.
Picture your funnel on an incline rather than vertical: leads don't fall through by gravity, they get scared and skeptical, so you need a mechanism to keep moving them down.
05The 2-3% and the hot Cheetos pizza story
Only 2-3% of any audience is ready to buy right now, and every competitor is fighting over that same sliver; building content for the other 97% is where the cheap growth lives.
Repeated exposure creates a one-track hunger for one specific solution; the goal of nurture content is to make a prospect stop considering alternatives, not just stay top of mind.
06Invisible list, warm stack, 7-11-4
Split cold traffic into a physical list (email or phone, expensive, everyone fighting for it) and an invisible list (25%+ video watchers, cheap and highly qualified).
Build retargeting content assuming a long runway to conversion rather than expecting a single ad to close the sale.
Watch time and stop-the-scroll rate are the only two numbers tracked day to day; revenue versus spend gets checked every other day and nothing else matters if that's positive.
A recurring, unpolished monthly live call pitched only to a warm list is one of the highest-leverage ways to convert an invisible lead into a paying one.
07Live Q&A
Trolls self-select out of long-form nurture content because they won't sit through several minutes of value, so a minimum watch-time filter naturally excludes them from retargeting.
Niche targeting doesn't have to be literal; content aimed at one audience reaches people who know that audience and will forward it, which is how organic and paid reach both spread.
Ads only run from a business page; a personal profile can only be boosted and can't be retargeted, so nurture content belongs on the business page and personal posts stay for direct conversation.
Polarizing, values-forward positioning isn't a liability; framed correctly it's a filter that raises close rates and cuts refunds by repelling the wrong-fit buyer before they pay.

Categorizing years of old training videos into a searchable library turns a coach's back catalog into an instant, personalized answer instead of a repeated hour-long workshop.
Glossary
Terms worth knowing.
Conveyor belt
Her term for a scheduled sequence of retargeting content and calls-to-action that moves cold leads toward a sale on an incline, replacing the assumption that leads fall through a funnel on their own.
Invisible list
People who watched a set percentage of your video content but never opted into an email or phone list, tracked and retargeted purely through the ad platform.
Physical list
A list built from an email address, phone number, or other contact info collected through a funnel; more expensive to build than an invisible list because every competitor is chasing the same buyers.
Warm stack
The pool of engaged invisible and physical leads, meaning video viewers plus funnel clickers, that gets shown longer nurture content instead of cold ads.
Power content
Three-to-five-minute videos built to solve one specific audience problem, used to sift cold traffic into a qualified invisible list.
Core machine
The entry-level version of her ads ecosystem taught inside the $7 program, recommended for anyone running under $1,000 in monthly ad budget.
Monthly activation campaign
A recurring, unpolished live Zoom call pitched only to a warm list, used to convert invisible leads into physical, paying ones.
7-11-4
A rule of thumb she attributes to Google: buyers need roughly seven hours of content, eleven touchpoints, and four platforms before converting.
ARCads
A third-party AI tool she recommends for generating UGC-style video ads without a real actor or physical product on hand, mainly for e-commerce clients.
See every word as it's spoken — crank it to 2× and still catch all of it. The same dual-channel trick behind Amazon's Kindle + Audible.

What is up, everybody? Hopefully you guys are ready to rock and roll. I know I'm ready to rock and roll.
And I am going to pull up the chat because I want to know how many of you guys would love to learn how to get 8 to 10x ROAS back from your ad spend. Meaning, how many of you guys would love to get $8 back for every dollar that you spend, right? Every single person right now in the room should be saying, yes, yes, yes, right?
That's what I want. And so that is what I'm going to show you guys today. Over the next 30 minutes or so, I'm going to try to leave some room for some Q &A.
Before we get started, I do have a really exciting announcement. A lot of you guys have heard me talk about my Momentum program. So back up to January of last year, where I decided to launch a beta version of a program that my mentor kind of helped me throw together because I knew that there was a need for additional Zoom calls from some of the people in the $7 program, but you couldn't afford the $3 ,000 price tag of Lean on Laurel.
Well, whenever I shifted my Lean on Laurel program to the more of a sync version of that, meaning Voxer instead of a lot of Zoom calls, And naturally, a lot of my Lean on Laurel students were like, well, I don't have to go to Zoom calls. I've got one -on -one access to Laurel.
But there are some students inside Lean on Laurel that was like, please don't take away the Zoom calls. I really love the Zoom calls. And so Nick was like, I bet you there's a whole bunch of people inside the $7 program that would love to sit in on those Lean on Laurel calls.
And so that's how Momentum was born. Then I had my seven year anniversary of the $7 program. And it was an event in Dallas, Texas.
And Nick and I were on stage and I was presenting my $5 ad strategy. And of course, everyone was loving it. And then I had a student raise her hand and she said, hey, because Nick is here.
I have a request. She's like, can we talk more about how he was able to help you get what you're making every single month while only working four hours a day? She's like, because that is just like the opposite of what everyone's teaching.
And we have to know how the heck you're doing that. And I was like, and so I asked the room, I was like, do you guys want to know like how Nick helps me do this versus talk about ads? And they were like, yes, we love your ads, but can we talk more about that?
And so that's whenever I figured out that there were so many people who not only want to learn the advertising piece of my business, they also wanted to learn how I was able to build a seven -figure -a -year business while working four hours a day while working with my wife. We pretty much had zero employees. If you want to count Suzanne, she's really our best friend.
She doesn't get paid. We take her on vacation. She works at Court TV.
She helps us with customer support now and then. I wouldn't exactly call that an employee. She's just our best friend who helps out.
But that's pretty much how we run our business. And we have very little overhead. And so that is basically what Momentum has turned out to be, is me just helping students ensure that they not only have their advertising ecosystem up and running, but that they also have the right infrastructure to actually run.
their advertising campaigns. Because there's so many people who are running the wrong advertising campaign and are running the wrong business infrastructure. And there's always two questions that I ask students when they come into the Momentum program.
And I make sure that we adhere to creating a strategy that is built around those two questions. Those two questions are, one, what is your enough number? Meaning, what is it that you're trying to do?
How much do you need to make after all your bills are paid and a little fund money? And two, what are you willing to do to get there? And that is the question that so many coaching programs do not ask you guys.
What are you willing to do to get there? And we're going to talk about that. other word that I just said, infrastructure.
We're going to talk a lot about that today because that is the key to making any advertising plan work. Now, Momentum is transitioning. It's no longer just a program.
I think some of my Momentum students here on this call would agree we have become more of a community, kind of more of an inner circle. Like when students have issues, we pop on Zoom calls and we solve them. If you're having issues with your DM conversations, we hop on Zoom and we do DM role play calls.
Well, Momentum members, you guys are going to be excited. You guys are going to be the first to hear this. You guys are going to get to come hang out at my house twice a year.
I'm adding that as free inside the Momentum program. We're not just becoming a program. We're going to be an inner circle and we're going to hang out and we're going to have some fun.
Now, here's the deal. We are at 186 members. I am capping it out at 200.
When we hit 200 members, the price is going up to $300 a month, which is still a deal. I wanted to make this the most affordable mastermind because there's so many people in this room right now. who need to be a part of a mastermind and cannot afford it.
And so I decided, just like I created the $7 program as a high ticket program, I am now creating the most affordable mastermind. And you're not only gonna get me, my mentor is gonna step in. He showed me a bunch of stuff that he can't wait to share with my Momentum members.
And so we're gonna ensure that our Momentum members have everything that we need. Now, Momentum members, if you're already in, you're grandfathered in at the $200 price. And by the way, The next 14 members that get in are going to also be grandfathered in at the $200 a month price.
And so once we hit 200 members, and like I said, we're at 186 right now, so we have room for 14 more people. Once those 14 seats are filled, it goes up to $300 a month. So just being totally transparent, I know there's so many people who are on the fence about joining Momentum.
We've been building their own AI clone of me. That's what we've been doing over the next several weeks. We are doing a deep dive on conveyor belt and we're about to get into the cash now campaigns.
So we're about to get into campaigns that do not require any additional ad spend. I'm going to show my momentum members how to actually get more out of their ad spend without spending more. So anyway, that's my pitch.
No more pitches for the rest of the thing. I just wanted to make sure because everyone's always like, you changed it and I didn't know. So no one can say that they didn't.
No. OK, so next 14 members, 200 bucks a month. You don't have to stay.
You could stay as long as you want. You can cancel any time. We have a lot of fun, though.
There's not a lot of time. There's not a lot of people who cancel, which is why we're at 186. But I did decide to cap the program at 200 because I like the small, intimate group and everyone gets help on the call.
So anyway, let's see a question. Does it also help beginner who doesn't have much idea about meta ads? Abso -freaking -lutely, because guess what?
Meta ads don't work if you don't have the right infrastructure around it. And we're gonna talk, again, there's that infrastructure word, right? And so today, that's what we're gonna talk about.
In the next 30 minutes, like I said, I'm gonna try to leave room for some open Q &A. But at one o 'clock, me and my Momentum members, we're actually gonna go roll up our sleeves and we're gonna do some conveyor belt content right after this call. And so I'm gonna try to make this call as super value -packed as possible so that every single person in the $7 program can go and do exactly what they need to do.
Okay, so cool. We're going to kick this off 8 to 10x ROAS. Now, whether you are a beginner or whether you are already pumping thousands and thousands of dollars into Facebook ads, what I'm going to show you today is going to work.
This does not matter whether you are a restaurant. This does not matter if you have an e -commerce business. This does not matter if you freaking mow lawns during the summer.
What we're going to talk about today will work. No. Business is immune to having to build an infrastructure before they run ads, okay?
Now, there's a couple of things that I want to talk about because there's a lot of things that you guys have been told that were true at one moment in time, but they're not necessarily true for ads in 2026. As a lot of you guys have noticed, probably the whole landscape of ads has changed a lot. Back in 2015, it was really easy to drive traffic to an ad, to a webinar, and make a bazillion dollars.
As a matter of fact, there's a lot of people who got rich doing that, and those same people who got rich doing that are teaching you guys those tactics, and it's not working. That's just how it is. And so the first thing that you guys have to understand is we have to take a step back and think like advertisers, not like internet marketers.
For those of you guys who are new here, You might think what Laurel is teaching right now feels different. It is.
My world is television. I started in television in 2002, long before Facebook advertising was even a thing. So the reason that I teach you guys things that feel different is because it is different.
It's because my stuff isn't built upon tactics and tools that will be outdated by next week. If you guys understand the principles and strategies that I'm showing you guys in this program, You guys are going to do well no matter what platform changes come.
My strategy has withstood the iOS update that happened in, what, 2021? My strategy has stayed even during Andromeda. As a matter of fact, my strategy now works better with Andromeda.
So my strategy is only getting better and better as Facebook's making these changes, while other people, why are their tactics and tools... just kind of falling? Well, it's because they're building them on tactics and tools where we should be building things upon principles.
And so the first principle that you actually have to understand is that ads are not a conversion mechanism. I know you've been taught that ads should equal sales. Ads equals eyeballs, okay?
If you put an ad out on Facebook and Facebook shows it in the newsfeed, that ad worked. That's the truth. If Facebook shows your ad in the newsfeed, it worked.
Now, you might not have made sales because you don't have the right infrastructure built around that ad. And that is exactly what we're going to go over today. The second thing that you have to understand is that ads and strategy and tactical things are very fluid.
I'll give you guys an example. There are so many of my students who came to me after watching Alex Harmozy's $105 million book launch, and they all of a sudden wanted to create the money model, because that is what he taught. Ignoring the fact that Alex Harmozy has been running a very similar ecosystem, similar to mine, for five years before this $105 million book launch.
Context matters, right? How many people tried to swipe Alex Harmosi's webinar slides thinking that the webinar slides were the thing that converted? No.
Alex had a bunch of pipeline equity. Alex could have sold whatever the hell he wanted on that webinar and it would have sold, okay? How many of you guys would love to have the benefit of that but not having to wait five years in order for all of that to compound?
Good news. The ecosystem that I actually teach you guys how to build here accelerates the process to where you don't have to wait five years in order to do that, but however, you have to be consistent, okay? Ads are fluid.
What works for Priyanka is gonna be very different than Nicole. What works for Tanya is gonna be different than what works for Cheryl. And it's very important that you guys understand the principles behind it.
Because if you take a look at my DM strategy, it is very similar to my email strategy. If you look at my email strategy, it's very similar to the way I close someone on a sales call. Because everything is principle -based, okay?
And the last one, and this is the... This is the biggest one, guys, because right now a lot of you guys are like, oh my God, Laurel's dumping a lot of gloom and doom. I don't mean it to be gloom and doom.
I want to be realistic. But I'm going to give you guys hope because guess what? It is easy to win.
It is so fucking easy to win even in 2026. How do we win? We be the most consistent.
Okay? That's all you have to do is be consistent. You don't have to be the best.
Even if you were just putting out content and getting the eyeballs, you will win. The problem is a lot of you guys are turning things on and off, on and off, on and off, when honestly, a lot of you guys would be in a better place if you would have just launched your ads and walked away and just left them running for years.
How do I know this? How do you think TV commercials work? TV commercials still work.
Probably one of the best, right? Who understands this better than anyone? Accident attorneys, right?
We all know the phone number to an accident attorney. Why? Because we see their billboards everywhere, right?
Get Gordon here in the South. You got Rafi in the West Coast. Everyone knows 444 -444.
Do you think Rafi expects someone to call as soon as they see that billboard? No. They want you to memorize their name and that phone number knowing that one day when you need them, you will call him because that has been ingrained in your head.
That is what we want to do, okay? So let's actually talk about how the heck do we make this strategy work without blowing our budget, without spending a ton of money in a way that is going to work with not only your budget, but only what are you willing to do, right?
There's so many people, guys, who are not willing to have messenger conversations, and that is a huge opportunity. Messenger conversations are much cheaper than getting phone calls, and no one wants to do them. And so that is a major advantage.
So let's actually talk about what can we do to actually get results. Let me actually, there we go. I'm going to share my screen here.
There we go.
All right. Can you guys see my screen? Let's see.
I'm not sure what I did to make this get smaller. Oh, well, that's okay. It'll still work.
Let's actually do this. Okay. So let me actually walk you guys through what most marketers are doing right now.
Okay. Now, most marketers are running ads straight to, they'll call it a sales funnel. But what a sales funnel actually is, is simply just a sales process.
Okay. Now, what I mean by it's just a sales process is it's basically just taking the customer from step one. all the way to the final step, okay?
Now, if I'm a restaurant, this first step could be, oh, I'm looking at the restaurant right here across the street. It could be that sign on Main Street, one of those little whiteboards that say, hey, lunch special. That could be the first step.
Step two could be them walking into the restaurant and looking at a menu. The third step could be. asking the hostess, do you guys have a seat?
There are so many things that could go wrong in each of those steps, right? People could see the sign and keep driving by. People could walk in, look at the menu and be like, not really hungry for that today.
They could go to the hostess and she's a complete bitch and be like, fuck, I'm not eating here, right? You see how many holes that could actually happen in that sales process? Well, even more so.
in your sales funnel. And we're going to talk a little bit about why this doesn't work. So you can see every business has a sales funnel.
You just have to look at it more of a sales process. I think when people hear the word sales funnel, they think of something like a ClickFunnel or Cartra or some type of physical funnel, when really all a funnel is, is just a sales process to take someone from point A to point B to point C to point D. But what do we know about every single point?
There's going to be black holes. And so what you're going to learn today is the infrastructure to plug every single possible black hole that could happen within that sales process, okay? And this is where people really get hung up.
They think that my ads ecosystem replaces a funnel. It doesn't replace a funnel. It is infrastructure built around a funnel so that actually works better.
And I'm going to give you guys a bunch of examples of how this actually works in real life, okay? So let's talk about why this alone doesn't work for most of us, okay? This is actually one of my favorite.
right? And so when people think of sales funnels, they think of something that's vertical, right? Like if I need oil in my car and I go get a funnel and I pour oil in it, the oil is going to go into my car, right?
Because of something called gravity, right? But what do you think happens when we start putting people into a funnel, right? I mean, if we put them into a physical funnel, we would all fall down, right?
But that's not what a sales funnel is, right? But We're taught that sales funnels work just like physical funnels.
But the problem is if we put leads into a funnel, they just don't fall down because of gravity, right? People, when they get put into a sales funnel, they get overwhelmed. They get scared.
They get skeptical. They are like, this will not work for me. And so there's a lot of barriers here.
So the way that I think of a sales funnel is it's not actually up and down. I think of it more like this. There's an incline, right?
And so what is the easiest way that we can get people from the ground, from the top of the funnel, to the bottom of the funnel when it's like this? Well, we have to create gravity. Do you guys see where this is going?
You guys want to figure out why I call the conveyor belt the conveyor belt? What's one of the easiest ways to get people? From one place to the next on an incline is a conveyor belt.
That's why I build conveyor belts instead of just traditional funnels, okay? So how do we actually create this gravity, okay? So if we take a look at a sales funnel, right?
It's kind of like this. At any given time, there's two to 3 % of people who are ready to buy right now, right? That's data.
2 % to 3 % of your people, doesn't matter which niche you are in, there are 2 % to 3 % of people ready to buy right now. The way that I like to think of it is, think about this. This is one single street in a downtown location, right?
There's all of these restaurants in this downtown that are awesome. They're all awesome. They all have lunch specials.
And all of these people who are walking around are hungry, right? All of these different restaurants are competing to get these same people all in this one area. That is what is happening with your funnel.
Everyone is competing for those same 2 % to 3 % of people who are ready to buy right now, okay? And there's nothing wrong with that, by the way. Like people think I don't run funnels.
Of course I run funnels because this is the quickest way to cash flow. Having some type of funnel is the quickest way to cash flow. For some people, that's a DM funnel, right?
Conversations are the fastest path to cash, I say. Some people do this with low -ticket offers. Some people do this with VSLs.
Some people do this. It doesn't matter what type of funnel. The funnel is built to capture the 2 % to 3 % of people who have a very specific problem, okay?
Now, what we're going to do is instead of only chasing the 2 % to 3 % of people who are ready to buy right now, we're also going to create a direct path for people who are our ideal clients, meaning we can solve their problems, but they're not necessarily ready to buy right now. Let's go back to this.
OK, let's go back to this. I love telling the story. So one of my very favorite places to eat is a place in Venice, California, that serves pizza that is topped with hot and spicy Cheetos.
Y 'all, I am a hot and spicy Cheetos girl. I hope my trainer isn't on this call right now, but I freaking know she would say that that's your hell. Yeah, I love hot and spicy Cheetos like I freaking.
Love them, okay? And there's this place in Venice, California that serves pizza topped with hot and spicy Cheetos. And I first got targeted by this, I'm assuming because I was ordering my package of hot and spicy Cheetos from Sam's Club.
And then I came upon this account that has this pizza topped with this hot and spicy Cheetos. So of course, what did I do? I liked it and I started seeing them more and more and more.
Now, Venice, California, if you guys know, Abbott Kinney is one of the best streets for food, okay? So many great restaurants. People are walking up and down Abbott Kinney, and they are all picking and choosing which restaurant they go to, right?
They're looking at the menus. They're looking at this. Where do you think I'm going?
I'm going to the sketchy ass street behind Abbott Kinney to go get my pizza. Why? Because over a period of time, they've created a hunger.
Once I have that hunger, I am not hungry for anything else. Have you guys ever had your heart set on having something for dinner at a restaurant and then you drive up and it's closed and then all of a sudden you're not hungry because you're like, fuck it, I don't want anything. I only wanted that one thing and you're no longer hungry, right?
That's what we want. to create. That is what my ecosystem does.
Because here's the thing. As I'm walking down Abbott Kinney, I'm not even looking at the fancy restaurants. They're swanky.
They have the hipster. There's everything that I love in a restaurant on Abbott Kinney. But my mind is zoned in on the sketchy -ass street behind there just to get there.
Not the nicest restaurant, but they've created this pressure. And it's internal. I really want that pizza.
That is what we want to do in a sea where we're all competing with everyone else. We want to create that hunger to where you are the only solution and no one's looking at anything. There's so many of my students here that tell me this all the time.
I stopped following every other guru because I know that you're the real deal and I only want to see your content. I get that all the time. It's because I have created.
this internal pressure with my content to where people only see me as the solution. And that is what we want to do here, okay? So what we're going to do is we're going to split our cold traffic, okay?
What we want to do is we want to build two different kinds of lists. There's one list that's more expensive to build than the other, and you guys are all pretty familiar with it. A physical list, right?
A lot of you guys are building funnels that's getting people's email address. Maybe you're getting a buyer list going. Maybe you're getting their phone number.
But that's a physical list, right? And we typically get these from some type of funnel, okay? Now, these are the most expensive types of leads.
Why? Because everyone wants them. So everyone is fighting for these 2 % to 3 % of people.
Conversion ads are the most expensive type that Facebook has to offer. But not only that, you're fighting with every other competitor who wants only the people who are ready to buy now. And so that's why people that do this strategy have to keep updating their ads.
How many of you guys have heard that you need a shit ton of ads to make anything work and you got to keep putting all these fun? That's exhausting. And I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to be on that hamster wheel.
I do not want to be in that party. I want to have a group of people who are ready to buy 24 -7 without me having to do a lot of work. How many of you guys would love to have people ready to buy 24 -7 without having to do a lot of work, without having to get on this hamster wheel, right?
Now, I know a lot of you guys just heard what I said and you're like, Laurel doesn't do this. Of course I do this, y 'all. I do.
But you know what? Because I built what I'm about to show you guys. I don't have to fight for this because I built my own.
And I'm gonna show you guys exactly how we do this, okay? Now, we talked about a physical list, right? Typically, when you build a funnel, you build it to solve a very specific problem.
What I love about what I'm about to show you guys is you get to go fishing and attract people with every problem you can solve. So for instance, right, if this audience right here represents everyone who wants to lose weight, well, there's some people who... don't do the right exercises.
There's some people who don't know what to eat. There's some people who have hormone imbalances. There's some people have this problem.
There's some people who don't have time. There's some people who do this. There's some people that you get where I'm going with this.
We have an opportunity here to exploit our entire audience pocket for pennies on the dollar that marketers are paying here. And so what we do in my world is we build out video content that captures not only the 97 % of people who aren't ready to buy, because you can't separate the people ready to buy versus the people not ready to buy.
So we're going to catch some of the people ready to buy here. Make sense? So what we're going to do here is we're also going to help people solve very specific problems by getting them to watch these videos.
Okay. Now, I prefer three to five minutes, and I want them to solve a very specific problem. That's all you need to know right now.
In the program, I show you exactly how to create these video ads. There's a GPT that will actually write them for you. But all you need to understand is that we are pulling from cold traffic in two different places.
One, we're building a physical list, whether that's a DM funnel, whether it's a VSL funnel, and all of that is in the program. If you don't know what type of funnel to run, that is in the program. But what you need to understand is we're also going to build something that's called an invisible list.
Why is it called an invisible list? Well, you can't see the people who are watching these videos, but guys, they are going to be some of the most qualified people you will ever talk to. How do I know this?
I am that person. I am the type that will watch people's content and then message them and just say, where do I pay? I'm that type of buyer.
And there are so many other people who are those types of buyers too. Lurkers, almost every single person who joins my Lean on Laurel program, I've never talked to them. I've never seen them in my life.
And they buy. Yesterday, I had a guy yesterday, he literally was like, I don't need to know. He's like, I just want to work with you.
Just send me the link to pay. I was like, well, you have to apply. And he's like, well, I do this, this, and this.
would you take me on? Am I a good fit? I'm like, yeah, okay, cool.
Here you go.
Happens all the time. Happens all the time. And so what we want to do is we want to get the people who are watching 25 % or more of these videos, but we're also going to include anyone who's engaged within our funnel.
And we're going to build something that's called a warm stack. Okay. Now, remember a while ago, I told you guys, what is the easiest way to take someone from not ready to buy to ready to buy?
But remember, the funnel has a slight incline. What is the easiest way to get people from point A to point whatever Z over here?
A conveyor belt. Now, how long does it take people to... Convert.
Well, if you look at data, Google just released seven hours of consuming content, seven hours, 11 touch points across four different platforms.
So if we take this principle of 7 -11 -4, what do you think we're going to do? Well, we're going to put longer form videos here on the conveyor belt. We're going to put opportunities to have messenger conversations.
We're going to put maybe some YouTube videos, links to my YouTube videos. Maybe I'm going to link people to my podcast here. And all I'm going to do is I'm going to boost it to the people who've either watched 25 % of my videos or they've engaged with my funnel.
Now, can we get way more complicated with this setup? Abso -fucking -lutely, but... What I know about most of you guys on this call is right now you need volume.
So this is the very basics of the program, okay? Now, I'm going to give you guys a little extra. You guys can handle a little extra.
So if we take a look at what my ads ecosystem looks like, I'm going to highlight it in green. The ads ecosystem looks like this. You see how it's built around that funnel?
Okay. If you go into the $7 program, there is a section that's called the core machine.
For those of you guys who have a budget of $1 ,000 or less, I would recommend that you stay in the core machine. Okay. I would recommend that you stay in the core machine.
There are two ways. Well, there's actually three ways that you could actually have conversations with the conveyor belt, right? If you take a look at the content that goes on the conveyor belt, you could have no CTA, meaning you're just giving value.
I do that a lot. You can have a value bomb CTA, meaning hand -raiser post, if you need more volume of conversations. Or you can have a direct CTA, book a call or buy my thing.
That is how you make money. I will tell you this. If you do nothing, if you do nothing else other than what I just showed you, you will win.
I'm going to give you guys a bonus. I put inside the $7 program a couple of weeks ago something that's called a monthly activation campaign. In my opinion, It is one of the best ways to turn an invisible lead into a physical lead.
And all a monthly activation campaign is, and we promote it with posts that go on the conveyor belt, all we do is push people to that live Zoom call. Now, the way that I think of monthly activation campaigns are laid -back, chill webinars. I'm not going to have fancy slides.
I'm basically going to position it like this. I'm rolling up my sleeves and we're going to solve problems. And by the way, hi, my name is Laurel and I can help you solve that problem.
That's all the monthly activation campaign. It gets you some face time with your audience. So that is how you can actually turn these invisible leads into physical leads.
But what do you need to do? You need to be consistently. putting out a volume of content.
How much volume? I would say one piece of content a day for the next 365 days. If you can put out one piece of content every single day for the next 365 days, I guarantee you guys, your business will be completely different a year from now.
Because the truth is, you don't actually have to be the best. You just have to be the one that stays in front of people the longest. I'll give you guys an example.
I got asked to be on Onyx and Gal's board of experts, a board of directors for his mastermind board of experts. I guarantee you guys, Onyx and Gal has never watched a piece of my content ever. But you know what he does?
He sees that I put out content and he sees my hooks and headlines of my content. So he knows I'm synonymous with $5 ads. He just never watched any of my videos.
And so even if you think your content isn't working, guys, it is. And this is why it's very dangerous for me to give you guys too many KPIs. The only KPI that I look at, what do you guys think the only KPI I look at is when it comes to my own ads ecosystem?
Watch time. Matt's my little rock star.
Watch time. I could look at conversions. I do every single, probably I should do it every day.
I probably do it every other day. I go to Christina and I say, hey, how much money did we make today? And if it's more than what I paid in ads, I don't give a shit.
I don't go look at any of my ads metrics. If I'm making more than what I spent in ads, it's a good day. But you know what?
I know my numbers. Everyone should know their numbers. And that's a whole other conversation.
But. You have to understand. You guys ready for this?
This is the last point I'm going to make, and then I'll open it up for some Q &A. This is the last point I'm going to make. You can't build an ecosystem around a funnel that is built to fail.
Meaning, if your funnel isn't built for success, no ecosystem that you build around it is going to help.
That is why it is very important that you build a sales process that is built for your budget and for what you're willing to do in order to get what you want. No ecosystem. You can't out -ecosystem a bad sales process.
There's just no way. Make sense?
Let's see. I'm going to go through some of the things. Let's see.
Justin says, sometimes I create power content that attracts my ICA by throwing rocks at alternatives, myths in my niche. It also attracts trolls and haters. Won't my warm stack include the, nope, your warm stack, remember, trolls and haters will not watch a longer form piece of content.
They will just comment.
So don't, like, you want to build your warm stack out of only people who are qualified. And in momentum, we actually go one step further. There's two tiers of power content in momentum that people have to get through the second tier 95%, meaning they have to watch tier one at 25 % and tier two at 95%.
The more advanced you go, like I told you guys, there's more advanced versions of what I taught today. But most of the people in the room right now, you just have to get good at driving volume. And you can't over optimize that.
You just have to do it.
Trolls will not sit there and watch your content all day long. They won't. That's why it's important that with these power content videos, these goodwill videos, that's why it's important that they are three to five minutes long.
A troll will not sit there and watch. Most trolls will not sit there and watch three minutes of your content. Let's see, Damien says, for those of us already running traffic to a video sales letter funnel, do we send people who don't take action to the power content?
Yes. So the way that I do it, now, this is actually a really great question. And it's all gonna go back to volume, okay?
Pay attention to what I'm about to say. If I need the most volume in order to retarget, where should I start? With people who clicked on the funnel, right?
Because that's going to be the most volume. But once I have 500 people who've opted in, I'm no longer going to retarget clicks to my conveyor belt. I'm only going to ensure my leads, invisible or physical, end up on that conveyor belt.
And all the clicks are going to be rerouted to power content so that they can get refiltered through the system. Make sense? Think about your power content.
You know how they go sift for gold in the river? You've got to sift and they put the water in. Think about your power content as sifting through your audience.
If someone watches 25, what do you think is a more qualified lead? Let me actually ask you this question. Someone who's clicked on your funnel or watched 25 % of a power content video, who do you think is a higher qualified lead?
Yeah, 25%, right? Because we've sifted through that. And I would even argue that someone who's watched 25 % is higher qualified than an email address.
Because how many of you guys have given email addresses to a fake email that go nowhere just to see what was on the other side of it? Never going to buy from that person. But I'm not going to sit there and watch someone's content 25 % of the time if I'm not serious about solving the problem.
Yeah. So Alice says, what if we do trainings for pregnant women? Awesome.
There's so many. So here's the thing. People were, this is, man, y 'all are asking really great questions for this class today.
And so thank you. Alice just asked a really great question. What if we, what do we do for trainings for pregnant women?
Most pregnant women know more pregnant women and are going to get pregnant again and are going to know more women who get pregnant. Almost every woman right now in this room probably knows a pregnant woman. It is no harm if someone who's not pregnant watches your video because guess what?
If they're watching the video, they're probably watching it for someone they love and they're going to forward it to them. That's how advertisers, and this is why I want you guys to stop thinking like internet marketers and start thinking like advertisers. Think about this.
There's another belief here that can be shifted a little bit. Why do you think people want to go viral? Do you think people who go viral care about who watches their videos?
No. This strategy works just like organic content. Make sense?
Yeah, like Sid said, pregnancy is a journey that starts from the idea of having kids all the way through. My wife started looking at related content the moment we talked about having kids and transacts with who have most prevalent and relevant. Yes, 100%.
Well, I've got a lot of people in the infertility space that are in my either Momentum or Lean on Laurel. And I had a student come up to me and she's like, I have a large percentage of people who are over 60 watching my videos. I was like, you know what?
Those are the women who want to be grandparents. And guess what? Grandparents will pay for your infertility treatments for their kid.
You get it? You guys are starting to see where we're going with this, right? And so we have to stop thinking in a bubble because advertising does not work in a bubble.
We have to take a step back and look at the entire picture, right? I know a lot of you guys are like, well, no one's commenting on my stuff. That's okay.
That's okay. If no one's commenting on your stuff, that is completely normal. Watch time.
That's what I want you guys to, two metrics I want you guys to track. Watch time and CTRL. CTRL is like the scroll, like people who are stopping the scroll.
If people are watching your content and they're stopping the scroll, it's working. What you're doing is working. Yes, you can track cost per 25 % view and all of that stuff, but at the end of the day, If people are seeing your content, it's working.
Let's see. Susie says, I have a certification targeting corporate transitioners while I am optimizing for applications. I'm wondering what my equivalent of my $5 ad can be for this audience.
We teach business and coaching. Did you do your content Bible? Because that's where all your video content is going to come from.
So that's where all of the content comes from, unless I'm misunderstanding your question.
Let's see. Janine says, I'm working through my content Bible and it's taking me a while. I have a webinar already made.
Could I break that up into shorter videos and post those and run ads to those to get going quickly? Yeah, you could. Not gonna be as effective, but yes, you can.
Absolutely. Like whenever I, so for example, like I have a new client in Lean on Laurel and I literally just went through his content Bible. And I told Claude, I said, can you take a look at all of his videos on his YouTube channel?
Can you match them with the appropriate parts of the content Bible? And that's how I picked out his first pieces of power content. I just went straight to his YouTube channel.
Now, some of them were longer than five minutes, but I just wanted to get him going while he's shooting his other content. And we went back and made shorter videos. But in order to get going, it doesn't matter how long your videos are.
I would just make them more long than short.
Let's see. Man, you guys are asking really great questions. I just want to make sure I didn't.
Let's see. Steven Black says, the invisible list and click segments, how do you decide to move them to your conveyor belt versus your power offers? I'm guessing that there is overlap, so don't worry about sending them to both.
Yeah, absolutely. Like, think about this. Every single person who's clicking on your funnel, some of them are moving forward, but we still want them to see our power content.
It's further nurture, right? Because especially if... You're sending people to a VSL or webinar.
Your power content is probably going to mirror a lot of that content. And so you're basically feeding them content in snackable form.
Yeah, Janine says, oh, wow, I have hundreds of hours of content. Yeah, a lot of you guys do. A lot of you guys do.
Like, if anything that you guys take away from this, two things. One, if you do nothing but what we talked about today and did nothing else, even if you didn't even build a... Do you think you could get sales from this?
Yeah, that's how people in organic marketing make money, right? You could run this as your funnel. The ecosystem can be its own funnel, right?
Think about this. You show power content, you retarget with more content, and in that content, you make offers. You make money.
I sold out my first Phoenix event in 2023. I said, hey guys, I am releasing my book, Super Duper Profitable Ads. I'm throwing a huge party in Phoenix.
Tickets are 300 bucks. Drop a line below if you wanna come. And I boosted it for $10 to my warm traffic and boom, sold out event.
Much cheaper than running a conversion ad, why?
Pressure. I had built an audience of people. I launched a wine brand.
How many of you guys even know I had a wine brand? I've got three brands of wine. Sold out.
Because I built an audience. I have an insurance company. Where do you think my business partners get some of their leads from?
My audience, because we sell health insurance and life insurance and burial insurance to entrepreneurs. Who's my audience? Entrepreneurs.
I've built an asset I can use again and again and again.
Let's see. Alicia says, I'm in the program for a while. I've been trying to switch it more to the spiritual side after being convinced to be less spiritual.
Why is this the right program for me?
Why do you want to be less spiritual? People will pay a shit ton of money because you're spiritual. I'll tell you guys a little something.
I don't pay anyone in business if they're not spiritual. I specifically look for that in every person I work with. My mentor, Nick, is spiritual as fuck.
Yeah. Lean into it. I had a client who she was actually an agency client and she had an agency that was before me and she was very spiritual in her program and they convinced her to not put any spirituality in her marketing.
And what do you think happened when she started calling her clients? Celestial Sherpas, people were like, you're the devil. I want a refund.
Her refund rate went way up. And so whenever she came to me, I was like, of course they're asking for a refund because they're not aligned with your spirituality. That's why people like Dan Henry and Alex Harmozy, they say polarizing things.
They don't want, like Alex Harmozy does not want to invest in a business owner who's not willing to grind 24 -7. That's why he puts out content to attract those types of people. He doesn't want to invest in a business because he wants to make the most money possible.
And so he hires these workhorses, but that he gets them from his content, right? Dan Henry, well, he's just very polarizing. And he does that on purpose because he wants to work with a certain type of person.
As he says, he doesn't want to work with sissies. That's fine, right? Whatever.
We all have our own people that we like working with.
Let's see. Matt says, so for the lazy marketer who won't do the work, but who has a ton of old podcast interviews could use that for their conveyor belt if they drip it out. Yeah, absolutely.
Like I have a client who we drip out her podcast episodes on her conveyor belt every time she releases one. And you know what I love about podcast episodes? They're long form and people take them on the go.
Okay. Carly asked a really great question. If we're running a cold audience to a short VSL case study for 250, should there be a purchase button on the page or have them DM me for the linked buy?
Just depends on what your preference is. What are we trying, what the goal that we're trying to accomplish with that? It's all about the goal.
Like we actually talked, well, we're going to talk a little bit about this. Momentum students, are you guys ready to build some conveyor belt content? Because that's what we're doing here in the next 10 minutes.
That's something that we're going to talk about because the question is always, Laurel, what should I be putting on the conveyor belt? What's my percentage of two -step posts versus CTA versus this? I always tell my students, create the content for the action that you absolutely need your audience to take.
If you need to have DM conversations, I would probably put out a two -step on every single piece of conveyor belt. If you need more, book a call. you could essentially put a call link on every single piece of conveyor belt content.
When I do that, it's a direct offer. You might waste some of your pipeline equity really fast, but some people swear by it. And so I'm not going to tell you you can't do anything because why?
What is one of the things I told you guys at the beginning of this call? Ads are fluid. What works for one person might not work for another.
Let's see. Tyrone says, can I somehow utilize audio only podcast episodes in my content Bible? That question does not make sense to me.
So I'm not sure what you mean by that.
Let's see. Christopher says, if you have a professional biz page and the content creator account, should we be using just one of these pages or both?
I don't know how to answer that question. See, I don't even know the difference. I make fucking seven figures on social media and I don't even fucking know how to answer that question.
That's how fucking easy this shit is. Like y 'all worry about a lot of stuff that I don't even worry about.
Oh, personal page versus business page. Well, you can't run ads from your personal page. You could only boost from your personal page.
So here's the way I do it. I run the ads, like my power content on my business page. And every single post that I do on my personal profile, I boost it to that audience because I do more conversations on my personal profile.
You do not want to run your power content ads on your personal profile because you can't retarget. You can't retarget stuff that you do on your personal profile. You can only retarget on your Instagram and your business profile.
Let's see. Cheryl says, I feel like I have to create an AI character for my power content. My client drops ships furniture.
She doesn't have the furniture. Yeah. There's a software called ArcAds.
That'll help you out. ArcAds are really cool. We use it for a lot of e -commerce.
Yeah. So Justin, yeah, you can boot. If you have a professional.
Profile, you can boost. There should be a boost button under your posts.
It's ARC ads. It's A -R -C -A -D -S, I think, ARC ads. So if you're e -commerce, ARC ads are good.
Let's see.
I want to avoid answering any questions that don't have to do with this because I don't want to confuse anyone.
I think I got everyone. Oh, thank you, Safrina. But, okay.
You guys good? Was this good? Takeaways.
Everyone throw a takeaway. Yeah. Well, oh, if you guys want to join Momentum, don't DM me, because I think after this call, especially after we post the replay, there will probably be no seats, so don't DM me about it.
Go to adswithlaurel .com slash Momentum and just go buy it. I'm not going to, unless you want to talk to me about it, that's fine. I'm super, I'm super happy to talk to anyone about momentum.
Anyway, does anyone have any questions about momentum? I've got about, we've got about five minutes before the momentum call. If anyone has any questions.
Cool. Awesome. Then I'll use it as a pee break.
Wow. Sid says the hot Cheeto pizza story really hit for me today. Awesome.
Awesome. Cool. Yeah.
If you guys want in on Momentum, adswithlaurel .com slash Momentum. One of the things we're doing, if I didn't say, is I'm helping them build an AI version of me, which is better than Lightning Laurel. I mean, Lightning Laurel is pretty cool, but this Claude project is basically, it's a Claude Laurel.
And it not only will write all of my stuff for them, but it'll actually coach them. And my momentum students will tell you, if you think Lightning Laurel is spicy, AI Laurel is even spicier. Like she will push back.
Like sometimes she will be like, I'm not going to answer that until you answer this.
Yeah, we're doing in -person events. Oh, one of the things too that we're doing is we are, I'm going through all of my Loom videos. and I'm categorizing them for my Momentum students with white papers.
So let's say Nicole wants to know how I would build a lead domino funnel. She doesn't have to go watch an hour -long workshop. I can just grab her the Loom video I did for a client with the white paper and be like, here you go.
It's all going to be categorized inside the SuccessFinder platform, and I have over 100 of them, like over 105 to 10 -minute videos with white papers. Christine has been helping me categorize everything. Yeah.
So a little bit about Momentum. It's basically, you just get more access to me and my stuff. Like I tell my Momentum students, you guys can have access to whatever you want.
Just ask. The way that I built Momentum, and it's so awesome. And I'll let some of the Momentum members tell you guys.
I just look at us as a community. Like it's not the Laurel show. Like in the $7 program, it's kind of like the Laurel show where I help.
But I find that momentum is really built, is really turning in to be a true mastermind room where students are helping other students. We're hopping on Zooms. We're helping, you know, when students, we just added an SOS call.
As a matter of fact, Matt's going to be the first guinea pig on that SOS call. He's having some offer messaging issues that he wants to sort out. And so I'm like.
let's all hop on zoom and let's figure it out. And so there's no, I'm not going to tell you there's five calls a month. There's 10 calls a month because some months, my moments of members will tell you we've got fucking 11 calls on the calendar.
Sometimes there's four. I literally built it for my students. We do ads, we do marketing, we do business structure.
My mentor actually said I can invite. new momentum students to some of our success circle calls that we have whenever they, when students need extra help with business structure. So that's new momentum members.
You didn't even know that. But yeah, the way that I'm building this out, you guys are going to get to come to my house twice a year. It's gonna be fun for free.
300, well, it's going to be $300 a month, but if you get in the next 14 seats, I'll grandfather you in at 200 bucks a month. I don't think you could join a mastermind for that cheap and get access to people like me and Nick.
Yep. Yeah, Kaya, if you have a local business, you should join us. Nick and I love, I mean, we love our online business owners, but we love some brick and mortar business owners.
Like, I love brick and mortar.
When are we coming to your house? Probably, I'm thinking September. I'm thinking September.
And it's going to be the beach house. Be fun.
Yep, next in -person situation I think is gonna be September. Yeah, Ana has actually been in my beach house. Ana will tell you.
Oh, okay, well, cool. I think I answered everything.
But yeah, adswithlaurel .com slash momentum. Like I said, next 14 members, $200 a month after that. Once we hit 200 members, it goes up to 300.
And that code is already written. So I can't, don't come ask me when there's 201 members to trick the system because Brandon already wrote the code because we own the platform that Momentum is hosted on. So we could do whatever we want.
And so he's got it already tricked out to go to 300 whenever. Oh, good. Safrina, you came back.
Awesome. Well, awesome. Momentum peeps.
I'll see you on the next Zoom. I got a PP first, but I'll see you guys there. I love you all.
Bye, guys.
