Big Idea

The argument in one line.

The cold email lead magnet is dead the moment it asks the prospect to do anything; a reverse lead magnet — a micro-SaaS app that already solves their problem before they agree to anything — removes that friction and makes booking a call feel like reciprocating a favor.

Who This Is For

Read if. Skip if.

READ IF YOU ARE…
  • You run a B2B agency and your current cold email reply rates are stuck below 2%.
  • You sell services to other businesses and want a demo that closes without a pitch.
  • You are comfortable with Claude Code or willing to try Bolt or Lovable to ship a first app this week.
  • You target small-to-medium businesses (10-200 employees) where a decision-maker can say yes quickly.
SKIP IF…
  • You sell B2C or your buyers are individual consumers rather than business decision-makers.
  • You are not willing to spend one hour building or customizing an app per client vertical.
  • You are already hitting 4%+ reply rates and want something beyond outbound.
TL;DR

The full version, fast.

Generic cold email lead magnets fail because they ask prospects to implement something themselves, signaling zero personal investment. The reverse lead magnet flips this: build a tiny web app with Claude Code that already solves a specific problem for the lead's business, then cold email offering to send it. When they reply yes, send a URL with their data prefilled. The combination of reciprocity, demonstrated competence, and zero friction to consume converts at roughly 4%, including niches previously considered impossible. One app built once serves an entire vertical indefinitely.

Atomic Insights

Lines worth screenshotting.

  • A lead magnet that requires the prospect to implement anything has already failed — the value must be delivered, not promised.
  • One micro-SaaS app built in one hour serves every prospect in an entire vertical indefinitely.
  • Claude Code produces a working front end, back end, database, and deployment in roughly the time a human dev team spends on a kickoff call.
  • The cold email subject line that outperforms: a question that implies you already did the work — 'Should I build this for you?'
  • Your micro-app is also your retargeting pixel page; every prospect who clicks is now in your ad audience even if they never book.
  • Switching from AI-written personalized first lines to app-as-lead-magnet is a category change — one is a letter, the other is a product.
  • 4% reply rates in AI automation and cybersecurity niches become achievable when the opening message delivers immediate utility.
  • The brainstorming session with Claude before telling it to build is the single biggest quality multiplier — skipping it produces mediocre apps.
  • Bolt and Lovable ship a first app in 30 minutes; Claude Code is where you go when you need complex backends and free hosting.
  • The law of reciprocity does not require the gift to be expensive — it requires the gift to feel personal and immediately useful.
  • The micro-app email opt-in converts browsers into list subscribers even when they do not book a call.
  • Your lead magnet is now your portfolio — you are not claiming competence, you are showing it before a single conversation happens.
Takeaway

The app is the pitch — deliver before you ask.

WHAT TO LEARN

Cold email fails when it asks prospects to do work; the fix is arriving with the work already done, in the form of a tool built specifically for their business.

  • A lead magnet that requires implementation — read this PDF, watch this course — tells prospects the value is conditional on their effort; that conditions them to ignore it.
  • Building one micro-SaaS app per client vertical means one hour of work gives every future prospect in that vertical a personalized-feeling experience at no additional build cost.
  • Offering to build something for a prospect in email one, then delivering it in email two, uses the law of reciprocity: a working tool makes booking a call feel like returning a favor, not entertaining a sales pitch.
  • Claude Code's plan mode — entering a brainstorming session before instructing it to build — is the step most people skip, and skipping it is why first attempts need heavy revision.
  • Embedding your ad pixels in the micro-app makes every visitor a retargeting audience member, so non-converters stay in your funnel across every ad platform automatically.
  • Bolt and Lovable lower the entry bar to browser-only builds but charge $20-50/month and hit complexity walls; Claude Code with Vercel and Supabase runs free and handles anything.
  • The cold email that works is a question, not a claim: 'Should I build this for you?' implies the work is imminent and personal, which is categorically different from 'Here is a free guide.'
  • Proof of competence delivered before any conversation starts changes the dynamic of the sales call — by the time you speak, the prospect has already experienced what you can do.
  • Previously-impossible cold email niches — agencies selling to agencies, AI companies selling AI — become viable when the opening message delivers genuine immediate utility rather than a generic offer.
  • The app's email opt-in form converts visitors who do not book into list subscribers, so even non-conversions contribute to a long-term nurture audience.
Glossary

Terms worth knowing.

Reverse lead magnet
A cold outreach offer that delivers a fully-built, usable asset to the prospect rather than asking them to consume or implement something. The value is already done when they receive it.
Perceived value magnet
An earlier technique where AI generates the appearance of custom work — personalized copy, email sequences — without building a permanent tool. The predecessor to the micro-SaaS approach.
Micro-SaaS
A small, single-purpose web application that solves one specific problem for one specific type of business. Typically built in hours, hosted free on Vercel and Supabase.
Vibe coding
Building software by describing desired behavior in natural language to an AI tool, without writing code manually. Used here with Claude Code, Bolt, and Lovable.
n8n
An open-source workflow automation tool. Previously required for building personalized lead magnet backends; largely replaced by Claude Code-built apps in this system.
Instantly
A cold email sending platform used to execute campaigns after the lead-magnet strategy generates replies.

metaphor
00:00This is probably the most excited I've ever been to be a cold email marketer. See about a year ago, I made a video about a concept that I called the perceived value magnet. It was this idea that instead of sending people a generic PDF for some free course, you make your lead think that you're personally building something custom for them, even though AI and automation are actually doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
00:23And that video changed a lot of people's approach to cold email. But here's the thing. I've completely moved past what I showed you in that video.
00:31What we're doing now is we're building our clients custom micro SaaS applications as their cold email lead magnets.
00:39And we're doing it with Claude code, and the results are insane. We're averaging about 4% reply rates across the board when we implement the strategy, even in niches that were previously considered impossible, like AI automation agencies or cybersecurity firms.
00:55Now the best part is this is so easy to do. My entire team is able to do this for clients, not just me, not just the technical guys. Literally, down to our customer success managers are able to spin up these new reverse lead magnets in minutes.
01:10And in this video, I'm gonna show you how to do the exact same thing. I'm gonna give you the prompts that you'll put into AI and use as reverse lead magnets and the prompts to generate the reverse lead magnets. Alright.
01:20So let me bring you up to speed. If you watched that video last year, you know the core concept. But if you didn't, here's the quick version.
01:26Traditional lead magnets, they're dead. And by traditional, I mean, you know, reply PDF and I'll send you my guide, or here's a free mini course, or download my 47 page ebook on cold email best practices. Those don't work anymore.
01:39They used to, but not really anymore. And there's three main reasons why. Number one, they're generic.
01:45You built that PDF once and everyone knows you're sending the exact same thing to every person. A CEO of a dental practice and a CEO of an ecommerce brand all get the same PDF. That's not personalized.
01:56That's a spam blast. Number two, the perceived effort is zero. Your lead knows that you built this thing once and that you're distributing it to thousands of people.
02:05There's no feeling of, wow, this person actually did something for me. They took the time to put this together just for me. It's just another automated thing in their inbox.
02:15And number three, and this is the big one, nobody implements them. Be honest, how many free PDFs have you downloaded in the last year that you actually read? How many YouTube videos or free courses did you actually watch?
02:26Now your leads are the same way. So in my last video, I showed you how I solved this with the perceived value magnet. Instead of saying, reply PDF and I'll send you this thing, you say, would it be okay if I spent some time and I wrote you a custom cold email sequence?
02:41The psychology is the powerful thing. You're making them think that you're gonna personally invest time into helping them. Even though behind the scenes, AI does all of the heavy lifting.
02:51Using this strategy, this was a year ago using make.com, we were able to get our impossible cold email campaign. Trying to sell cold email services from like a point 5%, now up to almost a 3% reply rate using this exact method.
03:05And this is selling cold email services via cold email, arguably the hardest niche in the world. But here's what happened. As more people started doing this, they were sending AI generated copy, AI personalization, AI written sequences, the market eventually caught up.
03:21And again, people started recognizing it. Oh, ChatGPT wrote this email. Cool.
03:25Delete. So we've had to evolve. And what we've evolved into is something that I genuinely believe is going to be the dominant cold email strategy for the next two to three years.
03:35Because unlike a PDF or an AI written email sequence, what we're building now is something your lead actually wants and can use immediately, and ideally, can't get it anywhere else. I call this the reverse lead magnet, and here's why.
03:49See, a traditional lead magnet is something that you give to a lead to get their attention, a PDF, a webinar, a free trial. The value flows from you to them, but there's a catch. They have to do something with it.
04:00They read the PDF, watch the webinar, implement the free trial, whereas the reverse lead magnet flips this completely. Instead of giving them something they have to implement, you give them something that's already implemented, something that's working, something that solves an actual problem that they have right now with zero effort or time on their end.
04:17And that is exactly what we're doing with these Micro SaaS lead magnets. This is the evolution of the reverse lead magnet. These are tiny purpose built web apps that solve an actual problem for the lead specific business.
04:29And right now, we are building them with ClaudeCode, and we're using ClaudeCode because it's the most powerful and capable AI application building platform on the planet right now. Now before you fight back and you say, Jay, I can't build software. Well, that's exactly the point.
04:44You couldn't before, but with Cloud Code, it's completely changed the game. And if you're resistant to Cloud Code and you've seen it and it looks too scary, you don't like the terminal, don't worry. I'm gonna be giving you a cheat code to do this without Cloud Code.
04:55Anybody can do this with the cheat code. But just know that you don't need to be a developer to do this with Cloud Code. I don't have any technical knowledge.
05:01All you need to do is you need to understand your lead, the problem that that lead has, and some ways that you can solve it using some sort of AI generated service or solution. And don't worry, I'll give you the prompts for that too. But here's the part that makes it scalable.
05:14It takes about one hour per client per vertical for us to implement this for our high ticket clients. Not per lead, per client vertical. You build it once as as an SEO agency, and now you have a tool for all SEO agencies to use.
05:27So you could potentially sell this to other agencies as an offer as well. So if you're an SEO agency and you wanna build a micro SaaS because you wanna do cold email for your SEO offer, granted SEO is taking a big turn too, but you only have to build it once and that same app is gonna work no matter who you're reaching out to.
05:44Dentists offices, medical offices, chiropractors offices, doesn't matter. The same app will work across all of your leads industries. Now let me give you some real world examples.
05:52I actually took this to the extreme and I built an app Consultee AI. This is gonna be the SaaS that I'm running, but many of the tools on here are free. They follow the exact same strategy that I'm talking about here.
06:03So as you can see in Consultee AI, all of these are free tools that you can use. Inbox placement tests that are completely free. Cold email copywriters that are completely free and better than most paid services.
06:14So if I'm doing cold outreach for a consultee or for lead gen j, I can say, hey, I'd love to write your cold email copy, generate AB variations, generate spin tax, add it to your instantly. That's a that's a service that a lot of people would pay a lot of money for.
06:27I'd love to do a deliverability audit for you, and you can just do that all on the back end of this app. Now these are just some simple ones that I'm using for myself to increase the performance of my campaigns. Now here's some examples for clients.
06:39We've got a lot of clients who run SEO agencies. Their leads are business owners that wanna rank higher on Google and not on AI. And this is the new thing.
06:46They wanna rank on AI search results like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude. So what do we do? We built a micro SaaS that actually goes out and builds a backlink profile for that lead, scans their current site, identifies backlink opportunities for AI search results, and it starts the outreach process.
07:01All the lead had to do was enter a URL. And in fact, we can pass the URL directly to them via a link. And what this does, it unlocks the ability for you to say in your cold email, hey, I spent some time analyzing your backlink profile and I actually built you an entire backlink profile that's gonna increase your AI search results.
07:20Would it be okay if I sent you your backlinks? Who says no to that? Nobody.
07:24We have clients who sell AI automation services, and their leads use all kinds of software, Go High Level, Shopify, HubSpot. Well, we built a micro SaaS for them that scans the leads website to detect what technologies they're using and then builds custom n a n automation specifically for those technologies and also suggests AI workflows that they can do to replace their current technologies or integrate them better.
07:48The cold email that we use for them is now they can say, hey. Would it be okay if I spent some time and built you a couple of automations for your go high level and Shopify account?
07:57You can import them in one click. Now just think about that from a leads perspective. Someone just offered to build them something custom, something they can actually use, something that would normally cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, and all they have to do is reply yes.
08:11Now once they say yes, and they will, you send them a URL to the MicroSaaS app with their website prefilled or their results prefilled. They click it, and the app does all of the back end work. They then land on your custom branded app, and now you have three things working for you simultaneously.
08:27One, the law of reciprocity. You did something meaningful for them.
08:31They feel compelled to reciprocate. Booking a call feels natural instead of forced. Two, you have proof of competence.
08:38They just saw what you can do. Your lead magnet is your portfolio. You didn't tell them, hey.
08:43I'm good at automation. You showed them. And three, and this is the sneaky one.
08:46That micro app is your website. It has a call to action. It has your Google Ads pixel, your meta pixel.
08:52Even if they don't book a call today, you can retarget them on every platform. Now your lead magnet just became your retargeting landing page. And if you wanna take it to the next level, you can also add once they're done consuming their information or running the scan on their site, a simple form that asks them for their email to access that information.
09:11Now they've opted in and you can add them to your list. Now I know what some of you are thinking. Jay, building a custom software for myself or every client of mine sounds insane.
09:21It's not scalable. Well, a year ago, you'd be right. When I made my original perceived value magnet video, I was using make.com to generate AI written copy, and there was a limit And it wasn't easy for me to just copy and paste or for other people to even copy and paste because it was so many nodes and so complex, and there was no AI assisted coding.
09:40That was the limit. But building actual applications, that would have taken a dev team weeks and cost thousands of dollars. But Cloud Code and the easier platforms that I'll show you if you wanna take the easy way out have completely changed the matter.
09:54All you have to do is describe the app you want, build me a micro SaaS that scans the website's tech stack and generates custom n eight n automations for their specific tools. And Cloud Code builds it. The entire front end, the back end logic, the database, the deployment, all in about an hour.
10:08But here's the key. You don't need complex back end automations anymore. See with make.com or n eight n.
10:14Every new lead magnet requires building a new automated workflow, new triggers, new API calls, new logic. But with Claude code, all of the magic happens inside of the app. The app is the automation.
10:25There's no separate back end to maintain unless you want there be. No n eight n workflows to debug or figure out how to make. Granted, can do that.
10:32I still use it for a lot of things so I can see and visualize more stuff. But for those of you that aren't as technical, you don't need n eight n anymore. You can do it simply by talking to the AI, and that's why we're able to do this with every client.
10:44My team doesn't need to know how to work n eight n. All they have to do is talk to the AI, and it builds the apps. One hour of work, one app per vertical, and unlimited leads through that app.
10:54Now at this point, you're probably thinking, yeah, that sounds great, Jay, but what would I even build for my niche? And that's a fair question, and that's probably the hardest part about doing this, and I'm gonna guide you through every step. I'm gonna make it stupid easy for you because I've got a prompt that's gonna generate reverse lead magnet ideas for literally every niche.
11:11Now let me show you it working in real time. Alright. Here is the prompt and I'm gonna have a full micro SaaS cheat sheet for you that you can download for free.
11:20Linked down below that's gonna have these prompts and some things that I've learned over the years that will help you do a better job with this. Now, obviously, this one's not customized for me. So let's actually go to ChatGPT who knows me pretty well.
11:31I'm gonna say customize this prompt for Lead GenJ. We're gonna go to Lead GenJ project, customize this prompt for my cold email offer.
11:40And this is all you have to do as well, especially if you have an AI that's already trained on you, your business, your offers. You can just have it customize it for your specific use case. I actually still have my ChatGPT subscription because it has so much information and pre trained stuff on me and still works pretty well, but not that well because it still left some placeholders in there, your ideal client.
12:00Uh, so I had to give a little nudge. Let's see if it listens to me. By the way, I trained my AI to give everything to me in a code box so I can really easily copy paste it.
12:07Cool. It looks like it's now doing a better job. I'm gonna go ahead and use this type version.
12:11And then we're gonna paste this into Claude. Now, if you already have Claude, you don't have to use Claude to brainstorm. However, I like to use the Claude code version.
12:20Obviously, when I'm usually using Claude code, it's in my terminal. But you can go ahead and start a new session here and just go ahead and run that. Now again, you don't need to do this prompt inside of Claude code.
12:31I just like it better. I'm now inside of my web app, so it has a lot of my preferences and information. You can just do it right here in chat GPT and have it get the ideas for you.
12:40Remember, this is just the brainstorming process. So let's go over the prompt and see what we're actually trying to accomplish. I run a x type of agency targeting x clients, generate five micro SaaS app ideas that I can build as a cold email lead magnet.
12:54For each idea, give me app name in one sentence description, what the lead inputs, should just be a URL or a company name, what the app outputs, why a decision maker would say yes, the wow factor, so what's going to get their attention. The app must deliver value in under sixty seconds.
13:08So I I really kinda tightened this so it gives you the best possible result. Again, all the prompts are gonna be available to you in the cheat sheet. This is still generating some ideas.
13:16Let's let this brew. Alright. Voila.
13:19We've got some answers. So I like how Claude just, like, crushes everything. So five micro SaaS lead magnet ideas, cold email teardown engine, ICP opportunity map.
13:28So without going too detailed into each of these, these are probably gonna be some pretty good ideas. You can also run this prompt across several different AI models. You wanna see how Gemini responds, you wanna see how Claude responds.
13:39This idea phase, very important. Uh, so you really wanna make sure that you can pick the best possible idea. See what all of them say.
13:47That way you can really tackle the one that you wanna tackle. So let's go through a couple of these and see what it outputted. And I'll I'll try and pick my best one too.
13:54Cold email teardown engine. Analyze a company's website and public signals to tear down their current outbound strategy and show them why they're not booking calls. Not bad.
14:01Uh, idea two. Let's go to three. Lead sample generator.
14:05Pulls 10 real verified prospects from a company's ideal buyer profile complete with LinkedIn URLs and a personalization hook for each. Yep. Super easy to automate.
14:13What else do we have? Number four, domain deliverability report. Also pretty good.
14:17Runs a full deliverability audit on any sending domain and returns a scored report, showing exactly why emails land in spam and what to fix before sending another campaign. Competitor, customer, prospector.
14:28Identifies companies using a competitor's product or service and generates a targeted list of their customers who are most likely to switch with messaging angles for each. Also, very good idea. You can use any of these and it would probably crush.
14:40So very good. Look at this one hour Claude code MVP build plan. So it actually gives you the full plan for Claude code to to start building this thing.
14:49Absolutely incredible. The the power of AI now is just insane. Reply rate estimation.
14:54It actually like gave us some specifics on how how it thinks it's going to do. I don't know how true any of this is, but it's definitely interesting to look at. Alright.
15:02So now that you have your idea, here's where the magic happens. Let me show you how to go from idea to a working app in a single prompt. You're going to paste this prompt into Cloud Code, and you can watch it and work with it until it builds that micro SaaS app from scratch.
15:15Now here is the prompt. I'm gonna put it on the screen. First, you wanna define your app's purpose, which you're going to grab from step one.
15:21You're gonna define the app's requirements, which is going to be a single page web app. It's It's gonna be clean professional UI with your brand colors.
15:28You're gonna define the inputs, the processing, the output. You're gonna say include a clear CTA button. You're gonna add your pixels, your codes.
15:36And if you don't know how, it'll just help you with it. But you're just gonna copy and paste this long prompt into your Claude code with the chosen idea from number one, and you're gonna enter a brainstorming session. What you're gonna do if you're using Claude code is you're gonna take this prompt, and I'm still in this Cloud Code session.
15:52Normally, would do this in my terminal, but you can paste that prompt that we just talked about, and you can say, let's use idea one and brainstorm this app. Any questions? And then what you wanna do is enter a brainstorming phase with AI before you tell it to just start building.
16:06So as you can see right now, it's an auto accepts edit. I want it to be in plan mode. So make sure that you click plan mode, and then you're gonna enter a brainstorming phase.
16:14And I recommend actually using Opus 4.6 for this since it's the reasoning model is gonna help you with the brainstorming session a lot more. Uh, it's gonna ask you questions. You're gonna answer its questions, define some blind spots that you might have on how it's actually going to build it.
16:28And then if you spend a lot of time with that brainstorming session, once you tell it to go start building, it's gonna be able to build it in one shot. And if you follow this process, I guarantee you'll be able to have a working app in under an hour. Even without using terminal, you can do this right here in your browser in Cloud Code, and it'll generate the entire thing for you.
16:46Now to bring it to life, if you're using Cloud Code, you will probably need some way to host the site or some and some back end to keep all of the data. For that, of course, we use Vercel and Supabase. And if you're interested in learning more about how to build amazing apps like this, uh, and do it the right way, go to leadgenj.com/aia, that's AI automation, and you'll be able to join our community where I teach you everything about building apps.
17:11And you can even copy the apps that I've built. I've built some really unbelievable apps, um, such as like a thumbnail generator, a sales director.
17:19Uh, you can copy all of my skills in my repository. So definitely consider joining this. You'll learn how to use Open Claw like I do.
17:25Uh, and that way you can just copy all of my stuff instead of having to figure it all out the the first time. Now I know I said there was an easy way. And some of you are watching this and thinking, Jay, Cloud Code sounds amazing, but I'm not ready for terminal or code editor or for sale, Supabase.
17:38And that's completely fine. And I want you to be able to use this strategy regardless of your technical level.
17:43And that's why there are tools like Bolt and Lovable that let you build the same kind of apps, especially simple ones, entirely in your browser. You don't need any of the fancy back end stuff or the front end stuff. No terminal, no code editor, no local setup.
17:57You just describe what you want, they build it for you visually. You can see the app taking shape in real time and right in your browser tab. So let's go ahead and actually watch that in action.
18:06So in my Cloud Code session, I'm actually gonna now say, let's use idea one. Please customize this prompt using idea one and your knowledge of my company offer.
18:19Only output the complete prompt. And what I'm gonna do once this is done is actually just take the prompt and we're gonna be using bolt.new for this, which is going to literally just generate the whole thing for me in the browser and it's gonna give me a URL that I can just share with clients.
18:35So the two popular ones bolt.new, Lovable are very popular sites where you can just come in and vibe code websites or simple apps.
18:44Now because of this simplicity, you sacrifice a lot of power. So if you wanna build something complex like Consultee AI with lots of different tools that have more complex back ends, uh, we've got all kinds of databases in here.
18:58Then you're not gonna be able to do something like this inside of Lovable or Boldt. You're gonna definitely gonna wanna learn Cloud Code. So if you wanna go all in on this, just learn Cloud Code.
19:06Join the AI Automation Insiders where I teach you everything you need to know. You should also check Vault at leadgenj.com. I've got all kinds of crazy deals on tools like Bolt and Lovable.
19:15I actually got Bolt for free for a year back when it was in my vault. So let's look at my subscription. I actually got an annual plan on Bolt that's completely free that I don't use.
19:24All because I got it on vault.leadgenj.com. So let's see if Bolt or Lovable is still there. Bolt, no.
19:30Lovable. Lovable. There you go.
19:3215% off annual in business. And there's probably a lot of similar ones to Lovable. So even if like, that's not a great deal.
19:39But there might be some that are similar to Lovable. If you come down and see what other AI assisted coding platforms are there. Looks like this one, AI paid programmer, 50% off.
19:48So there's all kinds of crazy deals on here. And I probably screwed up using Opus 4.5 in this existing project to do this because now it's reading through my entire code base.
19:58It's like, what the hell? What the heck are you doing? This is not what you normally use this project for.
20:02So if you did this in like a brand new session in a new project, you probably this would this would happen a lot faster. So let's go ahead back into ChatGPT and say customize this prompt, and then I wanna give it idea one.
20:15Idea one. Let's see if ChatGPT is able to do this and do it fast. Yeah.
20:19This thing still going. Let's go ahead and pause Cloud Code and save it to pain.
20:23I confused the heck out of it. You definitely don't wanna confuse your AI. Alright.
20:27Here we go. Build me a micro SaaS. Here is a prompt that we can use.
20:30Thank you ChatGPT for going quickly and knowing a lot about my company. So here we go. It's outputting a full prompt with everything the app needs to do, how it's going to be set up.
20:40Now be sure to read this and go through it. Right now it's giving it a unique domain name. It's telling it how it how to build it and deploying out on Vercel.
20:49We don't need to do that. So go ahead and customize this if you're gonna use the like a Lovable or a Bolt solution. So let's go ahead and copy that response and put it here.
20:58I'm gonna paste all of that. We're gonna use Sonnet 4.6, I guess, to save on some credits.
21:04Build this at let's plan. So now you're gonna enter a brainstorming phase with Bolt or with Lovable. Then it's actually gonna be able to build you the preview that you're going to see here.
21:13So let it go through and digest that plan, and then hopefully it looks good and we can start building. But definitely go through a planning phase. I want you to get used to that.
21:21While it does this, let's go ahead and continue with what to do next. Now while you can basically do the same thing with Bolt or Lovable, it's the same strategy, it's the same prompts, they're just different tools. But I'm gonna be straight with you about the trade offs.
21:34The browser tools in Bolt. New, Lovable, they're faster to get started.
21:38You can do it as a beginner, there's zero setup. And it will actually just give you a URL that you can share. You don't need to worry about deploying it.
21:44A lot of times you don't have to worry about a back end. So they're faster. There's no setup.
21:48And you can go from idea to app in thirty minutes, usually on your first try. So they might be perfect for you as a beginner to get your first reverse lead magnet at the door, but they have limits.
21:58There's less control over the details. They're less capable. So if you have any like complex logic or back end API integrations, you're gonna hit a wall much faster, and you're gonna be frustrated.
22:08Like, why isn't Lovable doing what I want it to do? Well, it's because it's much it's not as smart. It's less capable.
22:14And you're gonna be on a monthly subscription. 20 to $50 a month just to host the thing and do the back end. So there's hidden costs in there too.
22:20Uh, so even if you think, oh, less software, cheaper, not necessarily. Cloud Code will give you much more control and more power. You're also going to be hopefully saving money because Supabase is free.
22:31Vercel is free. All you have to do is connect them together and Cloud Code will help you with it. So if you want my honest recommendation, you've never built an app before, start with bolt.new or Lovable.
22:41Get your first reverse lead magnet live this week. And then when you're ready to go deeper, Cloud Code is where you graduate to. But the important thing is that you start using this.
22:49Alright. Now let me walk you through the actual cold email sequence once you have the reverse lead magnet actually built. Because remember, the app is only half the equation.
22:58How you present it is everything. Now email one. Subject line should be something like, hey, Jay.
23:03Should I build this for you? And then the body, hey, Jay. I noticed you're running.
23:07Go high level for lead gen Jay. I actually built a tool that creates custom automation specifically for your text Would it be okay if I spent some time and put together a few automations that you could just import in one click?
23:19Just say yes, and I'll get started. Look at what's happening. You're not saying download my PDF.
23:23You're saying, would it be okay if I spent some time and built something for you? That's the perceived value magnet psychology dialed up to 11.
23:31Because now you're not faking it. You actually are building them something custom. It just takes Cloud Code three minutes instead of your team three weeks.
23:39When they say yes and our average reply rate is about 4%, you send email to. Email to go something like this. Here you go.
23:45And then you send a link to the app with their URL prefilled. Say I put together specific deliverable called email sequence and then automation. You can import them in one click.
23:55Let me know what you think. Happy to hop on a quick call. And the conversion from click the app to book the call is genuinely unlike anything I've ever seen in cold email if you do it the right way because you've already demonstrated your value before the sales conversion even starts.
24:10Now let me be specific about who this works best for. The strategy works best when you're targeting decision makers at small to medium sized businesses, 10 to 200 employees, and they have a real tangible problem that you can solve.
24:22Or equally effective, have they shiny object syndrome. They love new tools, new tech, and now the niches that were previously impossible for cold email, agencies selling to other agencies, AI companies selling AI services.
24:35Those are now some of our best performing verticals. All because the reverse lead magnet proves that you're not just another agency sending another cold email.
24:44So here's the bottom line. This is the new playbook for 2026, and it's completely replaced everything that we were doing before with AI personalization or AI research beforehand.
24:54The old playbook, scrape leads, write AI personalized first lines, send a generic lead magnet, and then hope for a 1% to 2% reply rate. Done. The new playbook, which is identify the client vertical.
25:06Build a micro SaaS app, a reverse lead magnet with Claude code in about an hour, and then send cold emails offering to build something custom. Deliver the custom service on the app, and then automatically book them onto a call.
25:19Now if you wanna learn how to build these reverse lead magnets yourself, that's exactly what we teach inside of the AI automation insiders. We have a full cloud code module that goes through everything that you need to know to not just do this on the surface level, but actually go deep and build something amazing. Because the better that your lead magnet is, the more leads that you're going to generate long term.
25:38It will take you from absolute zero to deploying custom apps in days. We also have amazing done for you templates for the most common verticals. And in fact, we have thousands of members, over 3,000 now, building and deploying these right now, and you can just copy my templates.
25:52But whether you join or not, I want you to actually think about this. What kind of reverse lead magnets could you build for your industry? What tool could you offer your leads to make them say, wait.
26:02You actually built this for me or you'll actually do this for free? Drop it in the comments so everybody can see and crowdsource some amazing ideas. And if you haven't already seen my original perceived value magnet from last year, watch it next.
26:13It's gonna be linked. And now you can watch Bolt actually build the app in real time in a nice time lapse. I'll see you in the next video.
26:21Goodbye.
The Hook

The bait, then the rug-pull.

Cold email was dying, but the cause of death was not outbound itself — it was the lead magnet. Lead Gen Jay opens with the most excited line he claims to have ever delivered as a cold email marketer, then spends twenty-six minutes proving why: a micro-SaaS app built in one hour by Claude Code outperforms every PDF, webinar, and AI-written sequence he has ever tested.
